But You Left Me
A Kylsos Lament
I loved you so,
I broke my oaths
Of Druid decree;
I gave my heart
To you in love
But you left me.
What other option
Could there be
For me to see?
You vanish for months,
What could I think
But that you left me?
Never again shall I
Bare open my heart
Only to be stabbed.
I praised you endlessly
You, more beautiful
Than the sun and sea;
I would have followed you
To the ends of the earth
And yet you left me.
I fought perils
And risked all
So our love might be;
Yet now it's I
Who dies inside
Because you left me.
All this I did for you;
But in the end
'Twas you who left me.
(Yes, I did write that completely on the spur of the moment. This is the first draft. Thus it might not be as good as what I could do.
Say what you think! Constructive criticism welcome. As long as it's constructive and not all-out bashing.)
