They walked back down the path towards the town center. As they neared the western end of the plaza, Evo pointed to a house full of trellisses and plants. Many were moving, and there was no wind.

"There it is, home sweet home."

"Hey, sis, are you a druid?"

OOC: I'm off for the day. Stupid camping in 100 degree weather. And having to spend time with my father AND his friend, who has this really annoying kid. He came at me with a knife, and he tried to ass rape me.

OOC: He did all that, and he's just annoying? Not PSYCHOTIC?!? Oh, well, have fun. It's much better to camp during the rainy season, though. Believe me. Just have fun, I guess, and I'll see you tomorrow, or whenever.

OOC: That happened while we camping in November. I told my mom, and she just told me to talk to him. Not tell his father, just tell the kid that it hurt my feelings that he came at me with a knife, and not to yell it so the entire campground could hear it. You are the only person who knows that he tried to ass rape me.

"Well, I tried ONCE, but the Rites of Linking were beyond my level of skill. I've heard if you pass those, you gain an unbreakable bond with the spirits of the trees. I will try again, but I have to train if I'm going to have a shot."

"Animals. You have to be able to communicate with them to past the test. I was attacked my a wolf after you had just left. I had to go get some cones from this very strong tree in the forest, and I caught the tail end of a feed session. One of the females, I'm guessing the Omega, had stayed behind to scavenge. Sensing fresh meat, it rushed me, leaving a pretty nasty gash in my right arm. I've been deathly scared of animals ever since."

Soleo looked out to the sea, focusing on a sea serpent that was splashing about.

"Tat, Rem, and I are going on a journey. You can come if you want. If not, you can stay here. But I don't know if I'll make it back."

OOC: Thank you very much, Luke. Oh, and this is sounding WAY too much like Symponia now. One guy (Remy/Lloyd), his best friend (Soleo/other dude), that guy's sister (Evo/Rayne), and a girl with magic abilities who is kinda quiet (Tatrianna/Colleen).

"Might as well. But I have to be here the next Blue Moon. That's the time of the strongest magic in Nature."

"I just want you to be able to pass that test. I know how important it might be to you. Hell, before I left, I used to be careless. Now I'm mature, as well as a semi-good fighter."

OOC: Yes. I spent half my fortune on that Damascus armor because I didn't buy it on my own in February or whenever it was released.

Evo gives Soleo a very curious look.

"Fighter, eh? The last time I saw you, you could barely grasp that dagger dad gave you, which I'm guessing you lost, because I found it laying on the steps here after you left."

"The dagger? I have no idea..."

Soleo thought back.

"You know, I never knew what you looked like until I came here. I only remember waking up in the forest near Revald, then walking there."

"Ahh, the amnesia card. Didn't think you would play that until the 5th split at least, Sol."

"I was four years old when they found me. How the hell am I supposed to remember anything else?"

"I remember when I was two, Sol. I remember it vividly. Plus, your brain gains memory synapses at the tender age of 6 months."

"You're 17, also. I can't remember that far. Do your herbs do anything? Also, do you have any herbs here that might be shunned or frowned upon by some? I smell some odd scents."

"First off, they're not all herbs. Most are flowers, actually, some vines, and others fruits. They obviously overlap a bit, but not much. Second, that weird smell is probably Garchal pods in bloom. Nasty smell now, but they're used in many medicines and, surprisingly enough, perfumes."

"I was talking about herbs that might cause...'earthly delights,' if you know what I mean."

Soleo fell to the ground, laughing. He felt immature.

"More mature my ass. No, I do not grow "herb" here. For that, go down the road to the medicine shop and say 'I'll have the glacoma special'. Don't ask me how I know, I just do."

"Glacoma is an eye condition. I think that you are setting me up."

There was a brief silence.

"How DO you know that?"

"A friend...a boyfriend. Shut up."

"You have a boyfriend? Who?"

Soleo was quickly interested.

"We're not together anymore, for that specific reason. He was a sailor, and he had big, red, spiky hair. He rarely talked, and whenever he did, he would say some of the weirdest and yet funniest things."

Remy perked up.

"Wait, Evo, did he have a really stupid toy gun with him at all times? Did he yell at you if you touched it?" he asked.

"Yeah, it was the oddest thing. He was so attached to it."

At that point, Remy started busting up laughing.

Soleo turned to face Remy.

"Rem, do you know something?"

Remy had to speak between gasps.

"That's...that's...that's my dumbass brother! He always carried that gun with him because this one dude gave it to him when he was young and told him 'That gun will bring you great power. Keep it with you at all times'. It was probably just some drunk, but my brother was so gullible."

Soleo had to think of a witty comeback.

"Is his name Gerald?"

The humor died. Tatrianna looked away aqwardly, Evo shook her head, and Remy stopped laughing, and just reserved to sitting there.

Soleo looked around. He suddenly saw something that he could not describe.

"What is this?"

Plus, FF has the only really original story ideas anymore. It's the leader of all RPGs for a reason, Luke.

Also, you HAVE to create an RP guide for new users. Beware the Evil's switch between unreadable and godmodding. I'm not being mean, just truthful.

The group walked back to the boat, the trip lightened by Evo's stories of the weird requests she had gotten for hybrid species over the years. A Venus Sunflower, for example. Could bite a man's hand off.

They finally made it back to the boat, the table magically belowdeck again.

Radiata was great once you get late-game.

"Remy, set sail!"

The boat lurched into slow action, and finally set sail south-bound. They talked all the way down.

"Hey, Soleo, how did you summon that power of the dragons?" Remy asked.

"First, NEVER call me a killer. Second, I just asked for their help. They seem very polite."

"Fine, jeez. Well, we'll be there in about 3 days. Want to play something in the meantime? Poker?"

OOC: I'll be out today.

"Play? No. We need food, right?"

Soleo grabbed some robe, attached it to his harpoon, and began throwing it into the ocean.

"Soleo, your harpoon is WAY more effective if you don't lose it in the ocean. You've been using it your own way for years, why would you change that? Especially when that robe is silk, and silk ties for crap," said Remy.

[Aura]

"I've been using it as a harpoon for fishing."

Soleo pulled the rope, and pulled up a fish.

"See?"

"Fine, but use this: docking grade composite rope, best around."

Remy handed Soleo what looked like a very thin hemp rope, but he found that it was light, and very pliable. He could fold it over on itself many times before it started to twist in the slightest. Perfect for knots.

"Just try it, it's much better than silk, and it won't come with the hazard of losing the Arm in the ocean."

"Oh. Okay."

Soleo began to fish again.

Soleo soon picked up a very good amount of sea bass, snapper, and one very unlucky electric eel.

"Okay, guys, have dinner."

Soleo cooked the fish using whatever was on the ship. The result was a delicious meal, free of whatever is in our oceans.

Soleo was eating when he suddenly noticed a movement behind the captain's cabin.

OOC: I should draw a diagram of the ship.

OOC: Basic 16th century Spanish freight-ship design? I know the layout by heart.

Remy noticed his expression.

"What's wrong, Sol?" he asked. Soleo shushed him. Pulling out his harpoon, he moved out to the deck, keeping careful to stay by the sides of the hold entrance.

OOC: I don't know what that is. I should draw a diagram, because I have a very specific idea.

"There is somebody on this ship. Look!"

Tat and Evo had walked over, as well. There was indeed a shape climbing up the mast.

"I've got him."

Remy pulled out his newly acquired bow, and pulled back on the string, without nocking an arrow. He released the string, and a bolt of energy flew at the figure. It was sure to be a hit, but the figure moved out of the way with inhuman speed. It moved back to the mast, getting close to the crow's nest.

"What the hell is that?" asked Evo.

"I don't know. I'm leaving it up to Ryan."

Soleo grabbed his harpoon.

OOC: Lazy. No, you know what, you create it. Make it something so confusing and something I would know nothing of, making it impossible for me and making it an easy level for you.

Soleo made his way up the mast, arriving at the other, lower crow's nest.

Inside, there was a sandwich.

OOC: You can get warned for everything these days. I swear, it's really annoying when I just make one little comment that isn't even insulting, it's small talk, and I get a straight warning and not just a caution. Jesus, I hate over-reactive mod's warning sometimes.

Remy yelled up to Soleo.

"Stop fooling around and go get that guy. He doesn't seem like a nice fellow to me."

Soleo climbed to the top. A strange figure was at the top, looking straight at him.

"What do you want with us?"

OOC: I'm almost afraid to, because you might agree with the mod. But, this whole site has been way too straight-in-line lately. I can't even ask a person a simple question without having to resort to PM, even if I'm active in the Thread in question. I just don't see the point of posting in a SOCIAL forum if we aren't allowed even just the most innocent of conversation without being warned and told you were wrong by about 7 different people.

"Your bounty will feed me and my entire village for an eternity! 1,000,000,000 gold. Do you know how much that is in this day and age?"

The figure spoke with a high pitch, like nails on a blackboard.

Soleo grabbed his harpoon and gently poked the figure's stomach, then he fell onto the deck, laughing for some reason.

"You...you...bastard, I'm not the-tehe!-Pilsbury dough boy, you jackass. I'm Rayne Colvunson, feared Drow assassin of the 7-Leagues-Below league of nations. And you will die today."

Rayne pulled out two long, thin swords, which looked more like dirks. He rushed at Soleo, jumping and knocking him down to the Crow's nest floor. Before Soleo could get up, Rayne heaved him up by his shirt, and held him over the deck.

"One drop. One drop would be all it would take to save my people, to get them out of the clutches of the murderous, callous dwarves. One drop would bring us salvation from those wretched Mages, and one drop would be a step towards peace for the Drows."

OOC: Woohoo! My very first cross-forum reference. Cross-game, actually. And don't worry, this guy is a good guy.

"First, what is a Drow? Second, Rem there has the Dragonic Bow, so you don't want to be doing this. Third, if you let me down, I can help you."

OOC: Look them up. Basically, black-skinned, underground elves. They were a sect of the elvish kingdom that was exiled for their beliefs, and had to take refuge below-ground. The dwarves saw this as an invasion of their territory, and set out to destroy the Drows. And Rayne was my character from the very good, yet wholely unsuccessful RP my friend made up, "Drow Epic". Basically, he and I wrote a whole bunch of stuff for it, pages and pages. It was fun, but the RPG Room sucks now because nobody cares about anything other than Naruto and other unoriginal stuff anymore.

"Like I would let you go because of some hotshot with a bow. I dodged it before, I can dodge it again. And, worst comes to worst, I use you as a shield, and I don't even have to let go of you. What could you possibly do to help me?" asked the now shaking Drow.

Gale takes his two guns, runs through the crowd, and shoots everybody. Then Zax's son kills him. As he sits on the steps, he looks into the sky. He hears a song.

It might not seem like much, but is a kickass scene.

"Now, go tell that bow guy that I'm not hostile. I'll be on deck shortly."

Rayne actually laughed.

"Sorry, I had to keep up that tough guy act for as long as I could. The name's Rayne, by the way," he said to the three on deck as he jumped down.

"How interesting. So, you fighting with slender swords? Interesting. I fight with a harpoon, some tusks, and an axe. Rem fights with his bow, and I have no idea about Tat or Evo."

Tat rolled her eyes.

"Tatrianna Glaeis, magician extraordinaire," Tatrianna said with a slight bow of his head. Evo walked up to Rayne next.

"Evorane Raes, this little guy's brother and master of staves."

"So, are we now a quintuple group?"

Rayne piqued up.

"Hey, I'm not part of this. I'm just here until my people are saved. Shadow would kill me if I came back empty-handed when I could easily kill you."

"Who is this Shadow? If we do that, then we can kill Shadow first."

Rayne looked appalled.

"Shadow's my best friend and most trusted commrade. He also knows my abilities, and would be woefully dissapointed in me if I didn't come back with at least some help, or more helpfully money."

"Figuratively, genius. God, how do you guys keep up with the speed of this guy's brain?" asked Rayne with a sneer. Remy was quick to go to Soleo's aid.

"It's hard, but I somehow can keep pace with his intellectual."

The announces spoke "Welcome to 'Do YOU know Illuyad?' On one side, the gothicly-dressed Rayne!"

Audience cheer.

"And, on the other side, our returning champion, Soleo Raes!"

More audience cheer.

"Now, onto our first question. For fifty points, Rayne, what was the cause of Prage's rise to power?"

"Ahh, Soleo? I'm not really interested in the politics of the surface world. Try this one on: What is the PH value of simple acetone?"

"Acetone is an irritant and inhalation may lead to hepatotoxic effects (causing liver damage). The fumes should be avoided. In no circumstance should it be consumed directly or indirectly. Always use goggles when handling acetone; it can cause permanent eye damage (corneal clouding).

Small amounts of acetone are metabolically produced in the body, mainly from fat. In humans, fasting significantly increases its endogenous production (see ketosis). Acetone can be elevated in diabetes. Contamination of water, food (e.g. milk), or the air (acetone is volatile) can lead to chronic exposure to acetone. A number of acute poisoning cases have been described. Relatively speaking, acetone is not a very toxic compound; it can, however, damage the mucosa of the mouth and can irritate and damage skin. It has been hypothesized that the high fat low carbohydrate ketogenic diet used clinically to control drug-resistant epilepsy in children works by elevating acetone in the brain."

There is a slight pause, and then the voice booms again.

"Oh, and folks, don't forget to have your pets spayed and neutered. A dear friend carried this tradition once, and I intend to carry it on."

Soleo turned to Rayne.

"So, where do we go? We were all going to Sol'jin."

"Heh, no you don't. You're technically my hostage, Raes. Take a hard left and head towards the northern Utherpane-Alzorane border. I'll tell you when to stop."

"Why would I be your hostage?"

"Well, if you refuse to help me, I will kill you and take your bounty, supplying my village for many eons to come. If you try to run away, I will kill you, and do the same thing. And don't think your friends can stop me. Because of the increased gravity Drows have to deal with from being under all of that pressure all of their lives, open air is like going from cold water to hot air. My movements would be easily two-fold their normal speed and power."

"Sh!t."

OOC: ...I bad repped Insane Man, and instead of yelling at me, he humbled me with good rep and a stern little thing saying "You know what you did was wrong." I feel so stupid now, but I still don't think it was a warnable offense. Oh, and Klowny is pretty much my only friend in Thunderdome, and he and his alt Duh'venger are both heavy into Godly. So, yeah, Klowny's pretty cool, if a bit piercing.

"I'm sorry, Soleo, I truly am, but I need this. We need this. Most of the mercs have come and gone, and it's just me and Shadow that are there permanently."

OOC2: We had the best members in Drow Epic when we started. Chance (Shadowvivi22, or Atlus, if you know him), this VERY good RPer named Oriana, and thedarkmage, one of my favorite guys there and the one that went MIA right in the middle of the most successful RP at the time, Age of Elements.

Rayne got very angry.

"Look, you're making a lot of assumptions about things you know nothing about! I'm usually very calm, but when it comes to an entire NATION's people, I get a little defensive. How would you feel if your entire families were being threatened by a sole predator, and someone lends you a helping hand, a hand that would get rid of everything that could hurt you, and in return you had to do ONE thing that was against your moral fiber."

He looked away.

"It's what I had to do, or we would have all been gone."

"...I wanted to bring somebody back from the dead. I, indirectly killed him, and I had to see his wife and his children cry as they saw their deformed father sitting there, screaming in pain. I wanted to see that family smile again, so I wanted to find a necromancer. However, it wouldn't be right."

It was silent for a bit.

"It isn't the same, but you know what I mean. Let me help you."

Rayne calmed down a bit, collecting himself.

"I see. Please, do not resort to necromancers. They are evil, and they usually aren't strong enough to actually give life to anything, but instead give it a slighted-soul. Unless the Necromancer is of undescribable mind and strength, there's no telling what kind of foul beast will be summoned to this world."

"Remy, set sail. We have elves to save."

Soleo looked at Rayne.

"I know the feeling of being hated by everybody."

Rayne got angry again.

"Never call me an elf. Those wretched bastards forsaked us, giving us the treatment a demon doesn't deserve. They have kept us in suppression from the light, and put us in the danger of the dark. They are nothing but stupid barabarians."

"So, you are a demon...?"

Soleo looked over at Remy.

"I don't get it..."

Rayne sighed.

"No. The Drows were originally a sect of elves that followed a DIFFERENT religion. Not an evil one, not a destructive one, just different. And for those beliefs, we were cast away from elven society, driven underground because we weren't good enough for the light, I suppose. And ever since then, we have been under constant attack by the dwarves."

[Aura]

"So, you are an elf, but you don't want to be called an elf. How...odd..."

"We cast off any relation to our hateful bretheren when they sinned against us that day."

[Aura]

"Very well. How can you have trouble with dwarves? Just pick them up by their heads and watch their tiny arms flail about."

Rayne laughed with a slight bit of disdain.

"Oh, yes, just pick them up. All 600,000 of them. Just pick up their guns and masterfully crafted swords too. And then just pick up their little generals, and pick up their mass genocide also, it's no biggie."

[Aura]

"Shunned from your very brothers, shoved away to die, where other people try to kill you..."

Soleo looked into the night sky.

"Remy, can we get the Order to help us with this?"

"Well, Soleo, we have no idea where this Order is. And plus, they're only remnants of their former selves. But, I suppose it might be possible, I'm just not sure how yet."

[Aura]

"Rayne, we are going to Sol'jin. I know, I'm your hostage and stuff, but this is something we need to do if we are going to save your race."

Rayne walked over to Soleo.

"Fine, but please, do tell why."

[Aura]

"We need to talk to somebody who is part of a big, fancy group of holy fighters. I have connection, and I might be able to get them to fight with us."

"Good. Actually, I think I see a port on the horizon."

Sure enough, Soleo could just barely see the outlines of a couple of roofs.

"Still, that's an easy 5 hour sail. We have some time to talk."

"So, why am I so famous? You are aware that if you kill me, you will be giving power to a dark force that wishes to overtake Illuyad. Is that what you want?"
