What lesser players have put in fantastic performances where it mattered for you?

I'm playing Liverpool at the moment with the update. I've sold Daniel Agger to Real Madrid for £15 million, and bought Vincent Kompany for £15.5 million. Good exchange, but it happened half way through the season and Kompany wasn't eligible for European competition. I'm playing the first leg of the quarter final away to Lyon in the Champions League. Cue injury crisis in central defence. Carragher is fine, but Hyypia, Paletta, Insua, and basically all other people who can play first team are injured. Go to the reserves, and find Fellaini. Young, lots of potential, but stats are not outstanding yet. Throw him in. He not only puts in a heroic performance, but pops up with a last minute equaliser from a corner so that the game ends 3-3. He finished with a 9 and man of the match. I was certainly rather happy!

For the interested, he played in the return leg with Lyon too. He only got a 7, but the match ended 2-2 and I went through on away goals.

A similar story to yours happened to me on my first ever season, when both Drogba and Shevchenko were injured and I had to bring 17 years old Scott Sinclair up. I used to play 4-3-3, so he was the only striker. He netted two against Arsenal to give us the 3-2 win and to move us forward in the FA Cup.

I've many times seen the opposition goalkeeper have the game of his life against me. And look at their stats! It's all yellow/light orange.

In one of my saves, Collins John was the Premiership top scorer and won the Players' Player of the Year. COLLINS JOHN. He has like 15 for finishing and 12 for long shots.

I know what you mean. Its an annoyance in FM in general. Doesn't happen as much in this game as others that came before it, though.
