This is for all the guitarists here. When you use power chords in a song, which tuning do you prefer to use them in- standard, Drop D, Drop C, or some other seriously down tuned to all hell tuning? I find that Drop C gives me what I'm going for most of the time, with good heavy chunky power chords. This is also where muted strings seem to shine the best for me.

I generally play more hard-rock oriented stuff, or blues stuff, so I like standard. I like the bright, punchy sound it gives.

Standard tuning all the way, or tuned down a half step, at the very least. Dropped tuning, I've always said, is for sissies.

Now how you possibly back that up? Standards all good for rock, but just not that great for metal. Some people prefer metal

I constantly switch between drop D and drop C. Anything lower then drop C is just getting silly, might as well just have a baritone. I prefer drop C though. Great for those nice chugging riffs.

Real men use standard. :D

Just kidding, it depends on the riff and which tuning suits it.

I play drop C#.

...I'm not sure why.

I'll mess around with open tunings and such. I like to try everything. Mostly I'll either be in Standard of Drop C. I skip D completely :P
