Alright, I meant to try this a while ago but didn't have time to finish it up... but I think I can try it now.

I received Lord of the Rings Risk a few years ago. Played it live and on a different set of forums and had a lot of fun. However, I was always wishing there was a Silmarillion version to play on. So with a little bit of help and a lot of nerd, I managed to make a custom Silmarillion era map for Lord of the Rings Risk.

So, as a last attempt to draw some activity back to this forum, we'll be having a bit of a forum game. A large Risk game by slightly altered Lord of the Rings Risk rules, on this custom map. I will be moderating, anybody else can play.

We'll have an order, and we'll just take turns through the order. Only one person needs to be on, so it should move along fast enough. If somebody isn't around (through either warning us in advance or not showing up in an allotted time) we'll assign a proxy to keep the game moving.

The rules will take a bit of explaining, and I'm trying to pull together a slightly different set to match up with the new map. I'll post them soon enough, but this is just an attempt to gauge if we have any interest.

We're looking for up to eleven people. So please, let us know if you're interested!

I think Alec is modifying the rules of the game Risk to work for us. He'll post them when he's done.

In regular Risk though, you do lay claim to countries at the beginning. :shrug:

Land grab would take forever, so you will be assigned territories in a MOSTLY random fashion...

Also, in Lord of the Rings Risk, there are "fortresses" (denoted by the yellow square... thingies). Fortresses give you an extra unit at the start of your turn (in that fortress) and provide a +1 bonus on defending dice rolls.

These are all in the rules, which I'll try to post soon, I just need to touch them up a bit (mostly because the map is "customized")

Looks like we're going to have a hard time actually getting 11 people. In my quiz I really only had 3 contestants, with the exception of Inlé and Kut.

Edit: BTW, I looked up Realm, and he hasn't posted in several months. :( Also, I was making an advert for a forum-wide announcement and an advert sig set in Photoshop, but the process just terminated when I was saving, and I lost everything. :rant:

I'll try it again tomorrow. Right now I am much too pissed off as I had gotten quite a lot done.
