This guide was written by our very own Danny. He gets the credit, and nobody else does.

Format

Each battle will take on a 1-2-1 format. This means that each person will post a total of 5 times before a winner is decided by myself or Luke. Here is a simple break down of the format.

1
The first one denotes an intro post. Each person is to post one of these. An example would be "Danny wandered through the boiling desert...". Your job is to elaborate on this, talking about your surroundings. The second person to post will do something similar. Each post should be roughly a paragraph long.

2
The 2 denotes attack posts. Each person will post 2 of these. In this case, each battler is to make a post, one after the after, describing an attack based on one of their techs or abilities. For example,
X: "attack with..."
Y: "counter with..."
X: "..."
Y: "..."

Each post should be roughly a paragraph long.

1
The final number denotes the kill post. Each person will make one of these, in which they "finish off" their opponent. Even though you may have been killed, you still are to make your kill post. For example,
X: "X looks at a weakened Y..."
Y: (Ignoring previous kill post) "Y..."

Each post should also be a paragraph long.

Judging

The judging of the battles will be done by myself or Luke. In the event of both of us battling, another person will do this. As judges, we are looking for the quality of your posts. We are looking for detailed and descriptive posts rather than a simple "X attacks Y". Your kill post will be one of the main factors in our judging. One person will be assigned to each battle only.

If I have any other info to post I'll place it here for you to edit in Luke :D

Also, ask any questions about the fights here.

If we do about two or three paragraphs, is that okay?

Yeah, go for it. I just set a limit of 1 paragraph so to speak. Hell, I did 3 paragraphs.

Couldn't you include a third place battle?

The reason why I ask is because you and Luke are most likely going to face off next. I see that match as being a grand final clash, rather than just a semifinal, and I see mine and Axel's match as being the third place decider rather than a ticket to the finals.

I'll leave that one up to Luke, however I think that it might be a good idea. We could hold it before the grand final. My only problem, is that there's only really a "reward" so to speak for 1st place.

Sorry, but I don't understand what you mean by third battle.

Also, Danny, why do you have a problem with there being a reward for the winner?

Not a third battle, silly. I mean a battle that decides who is considered the third best in the Illuyad tournament.

And I think Danny thinks that if the winner gets a prize, then surely the runner up should get a prize for getting to the finals.

That actually gives me a question... When the semi finalists lose their match (whoever they may be), couldn't they get some smallish reward for making it through to the semifinals?

The prize is a secret that only the winner gets.

However, if I somehow win, then whoever is 2nd place will get the prize.

Sorry, but I disagree with that totally!!! If you win, YOU get the prize, because YOU EARNED IT!!

Seriously, that defeats the object of the whole tournament if you give the runner up the winner's prize. So if you win the tournament, keep the prize, just announce what the prize is that you'll be giving yourself.

I wouldn't want it any other way, Luke.

I was going to make a sig for the winner.

....

I actually meant, If you were the winner, you tell us what it is after you've been deemed the victor... But never mind.

Just trying to say, even though you are the one giving the reward, the winner of the tourney gets the reward. That includes you Luke, if you win.

But, I can MAKE a sig anytime I want to, so there is nothing for me to look forward to. There is no point is taking an hour to make a sig for myself as a reward.

I suppose... Fair enough.

It's just, if I somehow end up facing you in the finals, I want it to feel like I'm getting a reward for proving my talents and not just by getting to the finals. I'm too noble in that way I suppose...

But we all know you aren't getting into the finals because your next opponent is me. :P Although I now hope that Valreki loses. I don't want the sig if I don't win. But just in case... do you know how to make rotators? Cause mine is taking a while. I don't hold it against Tommy Boy. He like, fifty requests. But if it isn't done by the end of the tournament then I would have a problem.

We'll see, Axel... We'll see soon enough. Though, I admit your skill is impressive.
