I'm not entirely sure that's a word. Perhaps "rhythmically".

The other Mage didn't even hesitate to cast a spell of binding on his companion.

Eh. Probably.

~~~~~~~~~~
With that, Elphear left the body, and watched the ensuing humor commence.
Aah, the joys of being a ghost.
Just feel lucky they didn't send in the bigwigs. You'd be surprised how paranoid you made them, so much so that they constantly where energy goggles. Even though they now look silly, they'd be able to see you.
Aura
August 7th, 2008, 04:15 PM
That's quite a bother, isn't it? Well, my robes look a lot like their robes. If I can turn my energy just right, I can change from grey to purple. I'd look just like them.
Addicted to Oi!
August 7th, 2008, 04:22 PM
Except that purple isn't the color of the underlings. Go black, and don't go back.
OOC: C'mon, you have to give me that one.
Aura
August 7th, 2008, 04:27 PM
Give you what? I'm lost.
~~~~~~~~~~

Uh, fine. Or, I could just stay clear of them altogether. Yeah, that would be great. Wait, what am I talking about? I'm a ghost. Nothing can happen to me.

Darren's absolutely correct.
`````````
Not exactly correct. Just as you have influence over the mortal realm, the mortal realm has some extent of influence over you. Don't get careless.
Last update for a while.
Aura
August 7th, 2008, 04:35 PM
While, as in hours or days?
~~~~~~~~~~

I can only think of Sovereign's Rite, which would pretty much exterminate me. As long as we're not dealing with a cursemaster or a necromancer, we'll be fine.

Addicted to Oi!
August 7th, 2008, 07:19 PM
Obviously, only hours.
`````
You're dealing with the Dark Mages, you definitely aren't fine.
Aura
August 8th, 2008, 12:24 PM
You're drunk. You shouldn't be talking.
Elphear decided to look around more, to move the plot along.
August 9th, 2008, 09:28 PM
Oh, please, like I can't hold my drinks. Elphear, you're dealing with a man that's been around alcohol his entire life. Learn to not underestimate me.
Elphear saw most of what you would expect an entire town to have scattered about in this one store. Kinda like Wal-Mart or something...if he knew what those were.
Aura
August 10th, 2008, 12:45 AM
Alcohol poisons the brain. It does nothing beneficiary.
Elphear waited to, once again, move the plot along.
Addicted to Oi!
August 10th, 2008, 02:06 AM
Oho, you'd be wrong in that aspect. Sugars in alcohol are actually better for some internal systems than your normal disaccharides. Meaning table sugar. Also, certain studies have shown that a moderate amount of drinking is actually quite good for you body. Ever heard of anti-oxidants? Red wine, my friend. You have much to learn.
Looking around NEVER moves the plot along, he should know this by now. When has looking around in anywhere but an altar/dungeon moved a story forward?
Aura
August 10th, 2008, 11:01 AM
I was talking about things like vodka. Red wine is very good for you. It clears the arteries.
Elphear decided to go to the local shrine/temple and look at the altar.
Addicted to Oi!
August 10th, 2008, 01:17 PM
Vodka still even has some good qualities.
The shrine was exactly like all other shrines. It was big, mysterious, slightly magical, and covered with something Elphear understood none of. Glyphs.
Aura
August 10th, 2008, 02:06 PM
Good...
Elphear transformed from invisible ghost to an energy being, fusing into the stream of energy inside the shrine. He attempted to find anything interesting and worthwhile.
Addicted to Oi!
August 10th, 2008, 05:25 PM
He could hear voices from all over the world. They were all prayers. With a sudden and awesome realization, Elphear discovered that these shrines were connected by unbreakable tethers of magic.
Aura
August 17th, 2008, 12:41 PM
Shrines of the world, connected by an unbreakable bond, forged with the emotions and hopes of those inside of them. This is the true beauty of the human mind.
Addicted to Oi!
August 17th, 2008, 09:00 PM
And it was beautiful. Elphear could hear praises to different gods, thanking them for a harvest that came in well, or perhaps the salvation of a loved one. This was one of the few bastions of hope a bleak world had left.
Aura
August 18th, 2008, 12:54 AM
The beauty of Illuyadian religion is that each is right. While they all argue about the way things should be run, they all worship the same gods. And we know that these gods exist. We know that we are the product of their labor. Religion differs only on what you believe and who you worship.
OOC: The religion section is going to be fairly good, I'm guessing.
Elphear basked in this for a few more minutes, before Ben called out.
We're leaving soon, are you coming?
Aura
August 18th, 2008, 08:28 PM
I'm not really forming any details yet. My mind's a blank.
~~~~~~~~~~

Yes. Where are you running off to now? I'll try to be there as quickly as possible.

We're heading towards a small town your sister knows, it's called Nejta. It's a village in the southwest of Utherpane. Just go back with Soleo, it'll be easier to travel that way.

Aura
August 30th, 2008, 01:43 PM
For storyline purposes, Elphear teleported back to Soleo and entered his body, waiting to progress the storyline.

August 30th, 2008, 03:28 PM
The group, including Evo, was on a small road out of Revald.

"Elphear, if you didn't hear, we're on our way to Nejta. After we get to Raijin, we'll take a boat down to Shinista, the local port, and walk there. Shouldn't take that long, and from there we can strike out for wherever you think might be best."

Aura
August 30th, 2008, 04:12 PM
"Be the best? Be the best for what? What are we doing? Sorry, but I'm not sure what's going on."

"Well, if you still want to help bring peace to the coast, that's our goal. To unite the sovereign nations of the former Empire of the Earth with a strong bond, formed by the strength of their individuality, yet not restricting. Give them freedom, and solace. Order, and choice. Or, you know, anything else you would like to do," Evo said sheepishly.

Aura

"Go ahead. This isn't my war. This is your war. My war has come and gone."

August 30th, 2008, 09:18 PM
Ben piped up.

"Your war is still going on, Elphear, and we must do our best to help you. In fact, by doing this, we're one step closer to avenging the poor Tempirans."

Aura

"Your clear head is refreshing, Elphear. I'm glad you retain reason. However, will you agree with me in saying that allaying further harm to other free peoples is just as an important reason to hurt the Mages as anything?"

Aura
August 31st, 2008, 09:51 PM
"This is true. However, we must not hurt those who remain innocent. Strike down the commanders and the supplies, but not the individual soldiers. Unless, of course, they threaten our life."

With that, Ben seemed content.

"Alright, might as well set up camp right now. We made the mistake of striking out late, there's no way we'll make Raijin by nightfall."

Aura
August 31st, 2008, 10:50 PM
"Okay. I can't really lift anything, for obvious reasons. I don't need sleep, so I'll stand guard while you guys fall asleep."

Elphear could feel a surge of gratitude emanate from Soleo's brain. The trio soon fell asleep, unaware of the state of Raijin.

Something's amiss...

Leaving his actual spiritual form there, with a small amount of focus left to sense danger, Elphear changed his focal location to Raijin.

As in, he looked there, but he kept his body near the trio.

The great city was burning, and as it seemed, had been for several hours. Elphear could see many angels flying high above, bolts of fire streaming from their hands.

Aura
September 1st, 2008, 11:10 AM
Elphear's Guardian (Yes, Guardian. Which other besides Guardian do you think would fit?) Arcana immediately kicked in.

I will not let this stand.

Back at the camp, Elphear became visible and emitted an ear-splitting screech that could not be missed.

"We have a problem. You are all to follow me without question."

~~~~~~~~~~
As angels are just another race, it is entirely possible to have angel bandits.
OOC: Yes, I know. And this is actually something different. Even though Darminus is now dead, his group still lives on, and they're still diametrically opposed to criminals of any kind.
The trio, though confused, obeyed Elphear.
Aura
September 1st, 2008, 07:07 PM
Aura
September 3rd, 2008, 08:50 PM
If you don't understand my reference, YOU MUST DIE!!! I will be sad.
"You any good with magic in this state, Elphear?"
Aura
"It's been a while, but I'm sure I can do it. Let me see..."
Elphear bent his head down moved his hands together in a prayer-style...hand thingy.
"Just give me a few minutes."
Aura
October 6th, 2008, 10:06 PM
"You can either give me a few minutes to sync my mana flow, or I could cast magic for the first time in 17 years, without syncing my mana, causing unexpected events. Just give me a few minutes, okay?"
Seemingly annoyed, but submissive, Ben remained quiet. Evo, however, started chanting many words at once, and Elphear could notice her formal garb quickly taking over heavy green and brown tones, vines growing out of unknown sources.
Aura
After about another minute, Elphear's mana had synced with his spirit.
"Okay, I'm ready. What do you need me to do?"
"The Holy Guard is there already, so we're fine on that front. But the city is much too big to evacuate on their own. I need you to teleport as many as you can away from the city, and Evorane and myself will take care of any you can't get."
Aura
October 30th, 2008, 09:32 PM
Elphear's never-seen face grew grim.
The Holy Guard!? Why would they be here? They fight injustice...but they don't do something this small. Their plans are always on a grand scale. What is this...? And angels fighting angels? It may be no different than humans fighting humans, but angel versus angel violence is unheard of. There are grim times...
He rushed into the town, attempting to protect those that he could. A quick scan of a house revealed if any hostiles were inside. If not, the house was sealed with a minor barrier. After doing that for a few minutes, Elphear darted into an empty alley and began to scan the city. He wanted to determine where the humans were versus the angels in order to make his task more effective.
OOC: Lawl, brain-death on that one. It was the Order of Dukas, not the Holy Guard.
Aura
November 1st, 2008, 06:08 PM
Okay, the Order is here. They want me to teleport everybody out...no, that won't work. They'll need to be escorted out. I can't do that. I can try to escort large groups out and defend them if they're attacked.
With his plan set, Elphear began his mission in the city.
~~~~~~~~~~

Teleporting takes an ENORMOUS toll on a person's body. It's like going five days without sleep difficult. That's why it can only be done on a rare occasion.
