I had about 3-4 experiences like this. its like i was in a trance or something. the first one was wh,en i was playing on my ps2 in my room (my brother was in the room too). i put the controller down and rested on the bed for about a minute and then i felt like i was completely paralysed and that something was being sucked out of me. i thought i was dying and my sole was leaving me. i tried to scream to my brother (who i could see) but no voice was leaving my mouth.after a few minutes it all stopped and i was panting very fast. my heart could not stop pounding. I did not tell anyone about this.
the other times was in other places but in all of them i was lying down. i could of been dreaming but, i dont know
What do you think of this

thats pretty weird, that could be any number of things. Do you take any meds whatsoever? It could be your dreams, or it could be an hallucination. There are SO many things that it could be, but I wouldn't worry about it unless it happens many more times. Unless of course, it's an actual physical problem...

no i dont take any regular medication for any long term illnesses or anything. The things its most likely to be is an hallucination or a physical problem. i dont really believe in the supernatrual.
The last time it happenend was about two weeks ago and it just keeps getting wierder. and this time it goes against the dream theory. The same paralysing feeling came over me and the feeling of something being sucked out. i was in my lounge and was watching tv. just over the tv is a clock and while the whole weird/freaky feeling came over me i could see the clock hands moving meaning that it couldnt have been a dream. i'm actually scared to lie down now and have trouble sleeping.

hmm, it might actually be some sort of thing in your mind that is related to an hallucination, I dont remember what that is called, but if it is messing up your sleep, that could potentionally be serious, (but I doubt it)

Sounds like sleep paralysis, or a simple black-out. If you don't eat healthy, drink enough water, or get enough fresh air, you are more likely to get black-outs.

I've had something similar to this, I was lying on my bed while my friend was playing a game. I was paralized, and then it felt like water was rising up the side of my face. It felt like the water was going into my ears when it got to that level aswell. I tried to shout to my friend, but all I could do was mumble, I opened my eyes for a moment and just saw him turn round, looked at me, and then continued playing the game. What a friend haha.

I can't really remember what its called but I remember reading about it a few months ago.
Basically what happens is sometimes when you are sleeping, your mind wakes up before your body and for a while you might experience paralysis or feel like you are being compressed. Its supposed to be very rare and in some cases in an attempt to come up with an explanation to whats happening you might start to hallucinate and see someone strangling you or whatever. This is why sometimes people say they were nearly killed by ghosts and such.
As I mentioned before its supposed to be rare but everyone experiences it atleast once in a lifetime but if its happening frequently it might be something else and you should try and get a checkup or whatever.

As I mentioned before its supposed to be rare but everyone experiences it atleast once in a lifetimeIt would hardly be rare if it's something that happens as often as once in everyone's lifetime. That's like saying being born is a rarity. :tease:

Yeah I know that was wrong while I was typing it out. What I meant to say is its a rare experience for an individual, not rare as in it hardly happens in a population. Meaning that eventhough a person would experience it once in a lifetime its not something they will experience every day or every week.
Someones mentioned in this thread they experience whats being described often so I doubt its that and I'm pretty sure its not night terror. I would try and find out more about it but not remembering the name makes researching it very hard.

Well i read on wikipedia on NIGHT TERROR and it seems pretty close but they say that the victim doesnt remember what has happened but i always remember. Do you think it was a fit or something like a seizure. i highly doubt i'm epiliptic.

Omg finally i found someone else that that happens to this happens to me wenever i lay down in the middel of the day. I rest and lay down then when i wake up my eyes are open but i cant move. And i cant speak all i can try to do is move my body littel by littel. Starting with one of my toes, then eventually i can move my leg and the whole trance ends.
I know this isnt a dream because my mom was on the computer through the whole paralis and when im out of it she was on doing the same thing. I hate it so bad because i dont breath automaticly i have to focus and breath. Plus when i get out of it my heart is race like crazy.
BTW, could this have something to do with my asthma?

I'm no doctor, but I can guarantee you it has no relation to asthma at all.

When this happens, are you laying the back of your head on a surface higher than the rest of your body? I have a problem similar to this when I lay down on the couch in my living room (I try not to anymore, but its just so damn comfortable) It feels like I can't move for a second or two, then when I finally can, the back of my head that I laid on feels constricted. I don't have problems with seizures. Actually, no doctor has found any permanant-esque problem in me. No allergies, no conditions, nothing. Sure, I get sick and such, but not for more than a week.

I would think that it is caused simply by a lack of sufficient blood flow.

I don't see how that can cause a full body paralysis
