Ok, It's about time for me to get some new strings but I wasn't sure what gauges to get. I play metal, metal and a bit of metal. At the mo I'm trying to play Lamb of Godesque songs. Any recommendations for gauges?

it's just whatever you like, man. lighter gauges sound better, but don't last as long.

Yeah, I've been playing with a lighter gauge. Maybe I should stick.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that they sound better, because that's just your opinion, and someone else could probably prefer the sound of heavier strings to lighter ones.
If you plan on downtuning, yes, go for heavier gauges, or else you'll be stuck with floppy strings and your sustain will be ruined.
If you plan on not downtuning, or downtuning only a little, I'd say keep the lighter gauge strings.
Like you said though, you are trying to play songs in the vein of Lamb of God, which I'm fairly certain requires a bit of downtuning. I'd say go for heavy strings. Unfortunately, I'm primarily a bassist and not a guitarist, so I can't recommend any specific gauges for you to use. I'm sure the staff at your local music store can help with that matter.

Lamb of god plays drop d which also happens to be my pref. Pretty much just for the lazyness factor, and it just sounds better.
Anyone else who plays drop tuning got any recommendations?

Go with a .010 gauge high e string and whatever other strings come with that pack.

I play drop C, which is a step down from drop D. I almost have to play with Ernie Ball Beefy strings.. i'm not sure what gauge that is.

I'm almost always in either standard E or drop C. I use light superflex strings for both because I incorporate the fret buzz in th music. Weird little quirk I guess. Get some strings like the Zakk Wylde Boomers. Thats that best I can come up with.
