Gran Turismo Screenshot Contest #1

Time to kick this off! Seeing as how we are ushering in a new era of the Gran Turismo Screenshot Contest, I will be deciding the initial contest guidelines. Please follow the rules to the letter. Remember that entries can be submitted for a period not exceeding one week.

Vehicle Classification: American production car
Track: Laguna Seca

Have fun with this! And keep in mind that "production car" is any car that is not specifically a racing machine (e.g., a Corvette C5R is not eligible).

GRAN TURISMO SCREENSHOT CONTEST RULES

Each contest is limited to one car/type of cars.
Each contest is limited to one track.
Each entry period is limited to one week, and the polls will be open for the next two days.
All contestants can only submit ONE photograph for the contest.
Entries must include the car name, track name, and a link to the picture.
After all submissions have been made, the entry portion will close and the voting will begin.
The contest holder will then make a poll post. All submissions will be in the post under the person who submitted it. The poll portion will have the contestants name as the voting options.
Each person will be allowed one vote.
Persons who have submitted a contest entry cannot vote for their own entry.
Voting will have a predetermined length of time. After said time has expired, the poll will close and the winner will be announced.
The winner of the contest will have the luxury of determining the guidelines for the next contest.
Entry threads will be created separately and are open for discussion. Please remember to follow the GW Forum-Wide Rules in discussion, as posts such as "nice picture" will be warned.

Oh darn Dave! Are you drifting the GT? I read the track and my first thought was: "Awesome, a track I can actually drift very well with!" But then you posted yours.

I'll try coming up with a sexy pic lol...if not I'll just repeat a drift.

Wow, now that's a quality picture. I just dug out an old picture from a while ago, because I couldn't be bothered to switch on my PS2. I've forgotten how damn good the graphics are on GT4. I have my PS2 routed to my monitor, which is great, except it makes everything blurry, but unfortunately I don't have room on my desk for a TV, monitor, and steering wheel, therefore it's a must. I've been busy playing GTR2 recently, but my graphics card sucks, so it's nice to see some decent graphics for once.

The only detail I despise is the blurriness of the Shelby...

Gives it a sense of speed. The reflections still look nice and sharp, so it still looks good. Certainly much better than it does on my monitor.

It kinda does, but just comparing the Saleen's clearness vs. the Shelby's blurriness makes it look weird, and sorta ruins the shot IMO. But thank you Dave, your comments are well received here.

so am i alowed to edit things in my pictures? i didnt see anything in the rules...

the thing with Laguna is that most people instantly think of pic on the corckscrew, thats what I was going to do. but I'll come up with something different. Ive got 5 cars in mind, I'll come up with something....wait count me out, I've got 2 papers due in a week, should read the time limit first I guess.

I'd say no photoshopping, but thats just me. It ruins the spirit of the contest.

With photoshopping, it becomes more of who has the best photoshop skills while still have the picture look authentic than who can simply take the best photos without any editing.

Yeah, that's getting to the same basic perspective I'm having about the whole thing. Okay, it's settled... no Photoshop or your photo is disallowed.

You could, but you'd probably ruin it. I'd add motion blur to the saleen if I were you.

However, since I agree with Velocity and Lone, I'd say you can do what you like with it, but post it in the photo album rather than the contest. That, after all, is what it's there for.

alright. i was just goint to take like 4 pics of my car goin threw the corkscrew and edit so it looks like their all side by side but its ok.

and im goin to try to get an entry in, but i have to win the polyphony digital cup first

I really wish I had time to do a lap around Laguna and get the pics for it....stupid papers.

my pic was either going to be the start/finish straight at full speed or that first u-turn using a lap replay from the American league races.
I would of used one of the following '54 Vette, the Z06 Vette, Viper SRT/10, Charger super bee, Cuda sixpack, '69 camaro, Chevelle SS, Shelby GT350, Cougar XR-7
