The sun was rising, dawn imminent as a sky shadowed by purples and blues made its way above the shining sun. A small breeze pushed its way through the slight clearing, having its way with the bare thin branches of the trees, a dim cacophony of sound blending together with motions of other life. Raiden had long ago reclined himself against a large oak, it shadowing him from sight until rays of the rising sun fell onto his face in beams. Sunlight had always been a pester for him as he opened his eyes, wiping his face and bringing himself to his feet. His walk had been endless, this being his first rest in days. Raiden scolded himself having fallen prostate to his weariness, but nevertheless, he began to walk on. As he stepped out of the small shadow that he had dwelled in, he took a small moment to stretch, hoping to throw the tire that had seemingly blanketed his body away. Sleep had not done for him as it did for so many others. He still felt tired, sullen, depressed. But hey, feeling like that his whole life, he was able to see past it. "Just another day..."
The mornings looked and felt like they always did, prematurely cold, dew spread across the grass shining in the sunlight. He hated the beauty of it, but what could he do. As he walked, grass knee high left its morning water across his slightly baggy black jeans. A creek babbled along a couple paces ahead of him, the sparkling clear water would be his first drink in a while. Falling to one knee, he cupped his hands under the water, bringing it splashing to his face. The grogginess of his waking washed away with the water, wetting his black ear length hair, pushing his red bangs out of his face. His upper body was bare other than a solid metal shoulder plate that rested on his right side, a few spikes presiding upwards from the heavy steel. Two sheathes laid reverently in an X across his backside, his dark daggers called Mystelain filled with the fury of his past screaming to be relieved of their cages. They were housed in sheer elegance. A silver lining trimmed neatly down the side and a small decoration in the middle, the sun shattered away from the beauty in lines of incandescent light. They were his only prized possessions, they’re parting never to happen.
The grassy plane was otherwise quiet, leaving the slight irritating racket of the breeze and the sounds it brought to the side. Raiden's battle instincts had long ago come into play, his mind racing, gathering tactics of battle that could become useful if a battle would occur. He took into sight the trees, the grass, the small brook, calculating techniques that would be fit for a fight in this environment. The hardest way to catch a fighter off guard is if he didn't know how to fight in his surrounding, and with knowing this, it would never happen to him.
Raiden walked solemnly but alert, climbing a slightly bushy hill, expecting nothing, this peaceful plane leaving him to think it would stay as uneventful as it had been. Passing over and making his way down the other side, a crunch of underbrush filled his ears. Instantly his hands darted back to his Mystelain handles, though the familiar pace and sound of footsteps that made its way from the small group of trees was a bit away. Waiting silent, ready and prepared for the person that laid ahead of him to make itself known, Raiden released his hands from his weaponry. He stood there; his posture oozing with confidence, hoping the figure ahead would turn to be an opposition. Because bloodshed had been rare, and he was sure if he got what he wanted, it would flow in earnest.
