Amy confirmation...

My sisters have been debating about this for a while, and I can't remember seeing a conclusive answer anywhere...

Amy... is she a hedgehog? She doesn't have the spines, and I think she has a tail that I'm not completely sure Sonic or Shadow have (anymore?). Speculation from my sisters say that she's a cat, but Blaze has the long cat-like tail that negates that suggestion.

Well she's called Amy Rose not Amy the Hedgehog so it's not that obvious... but in the same time her hair somehow looks like spins. All in all Amy is a hedgehog:

Amy Rose, also known as Rosy the Rascal, is a fictional character who appears in many of the Sonic the Hedgehog series of video games developed by Sega's Sonic Team. She is a pink, female, anthropomorphic, humanoid hedgehog who plays the part of Sonic's self-proclaimed girlfriend.

I'm not going to trust Wiki completely on this one. Any manuals say so? I'll check the Sonic CD one later come to think of it.

Wiki proved (until now and for me) that it's 100% true in all the info I get from it. Aaaanyway it's so known that Amy's a hedgehog ;)

Someone changed on Wiki to say that Chris Jericho had died (which was untrue). Anyone can change the info, so I would need something more official.

I'm pretty sure she is, and in SA2(2player mode) it might say Amy the hedgehog, but I'm not sure.

Actually, Neo, Sonic and Shadow do have tails. They have spines running down their backs and the final "spine" is a tail.

yeah, instead of curving OVER like the spikes, it's just like a mini-spike that curves the other way.

Amy is officially a hedgehog. I've read it many times on many places, and I'd even go so far as to bet a small fee that I've read it on an official Sega site. So, ya... she is a hedgehog. No doubt in my mind. I remember being startled the first time I read it.

She looks so much as a hedgehog too... (Adding when I first played Sonic games [it was Sonic 3&K] I thought all of them where hedgehogs; Knuckles, Tails) so it wasn't that big deal. But offically she's a hedgehog so that she can suit Sonic and can be his girl friend (Well SHE wants that ;-P)

If you find some sprites of her original look (which I've come to believe was a lot better looking than her current look) you'll see she resembles her hedgehog heritage a lot more than now.

The Sonic Heroes PC manual says she is I think... But in the issue of GamePro with the Sonic NG preview, it says Amy is a Hedgehog.
