Mist: Perfect! Let's go Flaaffy! Demolish that thing with thunderbolts! And if it tries to attack you, BLIND it with Flash!
Alice!
October 19th, 2006, 02:03 PM
Girl: Ha! Like you could beat me with such predictable moves. Unleash your true power, Buoysel!
Buoysel spins around on the spot and dive down beneath the ground. Flaffy's Thunderbolt attack slams into the ground and dissapates without diong any damage. Flaffy looks around hesitantyl, and gets caught from below with Buoysel's Dig attack. The attack knocks Flaffy off balance, and Buoysel takes the opportunity to start dancing in an oddly rhythmic fashion. Flaffy quickly regains its composure and lets loose a Flash attack, blinding Buoysel. However, it seems like it's dance worked, as rain begins to fall from the cloudless sky.
RipTide
October 19th, 2006, 04:50 PM
Mist: Sweet! The rain should help out with the power of thunderbolt when it hits Buoysel. Anything that mixes with water and electricity gets fried! Flaaffy, while its blinded use bodyslam while using thunderbolt, that should pack a punch. Then use Flash and be wary of any attacks.
Alice!
November 16th, 2006, 12:24 PM
Girl: Hehe. That Rain Dance isn't gonna help you nearly as much as you think! Of course, it doesn't surprise me that you don't know Buoysel's special ability.
Buoysel stares straight towards Buoysel, who stands his ground and doesn't move. Flaffy smiles, its Flash attack was more effective than it though. Flaffy crackles with electricity and launches a Thunderbolt attack just before making contact with Buoysel. The Bolt lets loose a bright light, and Flaffy keeps charging through it, but oddly, doesn't hit anything. The Thunderbolt attack sails harmlessly off into the distance and Flaffy looks around dumbfounded, Buoysel is nowhere to be seen. Suddenly something unseen rams into Flaffy from behind, catching it off guard and knocking it down to the mud.
RipTide
November 16th, 2006, 02:27 PM
Mist: Watch out Flaaffy. It's sped up with swift swim, plus it knows quick attack. Stun that sucker with Flash and thunderbolt it while its dazed! If it tries to hit you, turn and body slam it to the ground!
Alice!
November 16th, 2006, 02:43 PM
Flaffy lets loose a blinding Flash, but it seems Buoysel was nowhere near Flaffy at the time. Hesitant, Flaffy looks around when suddenly Buoysel bursts out of the ground and connects with Dig for a lot of damage. Flaffy flys up, but manages to snipe Buoysel with Thunderbolt in mid-air. However, when Flaffy lands, it sees that it didn't fry Buoysel, it fried a doll that looks remarkably like Buoysel!
RipTide

Geez.. give this thing a stacked movepool or what?
~~~
Mist: Flaaffy! Tear that substitute to shreds and then use the brightest flash you can! Blind everything you can, I'll close my eyes. Then send thunderbolts in all directions, we need to fry this piece of crap.
RipTide
-_- Bump..
EDIT: (by the way.. i've been in this one battle for 3 months, so yeah...)
Alice!
January 1st, 2007, 10:52 PM
Flaffy, in a display of raw power, blasts the crap out of the Substitute, ripping it to shreds in moments. The powerful Flash that Flaffy emits blinds everything in sight except you and, of course, Flaffy. Buoysel lands on the ground hard after tripping while running towards Flaffy. THUNDERBOLTED! Buoysel faints because this battle sucks.
Girl: Damn it.... Buoysel.... Fine. No way you'll be able to beat my next pokemon! Go Hikozaru! [Level 14]
RipTide
January 2nd, 2007, 03:59 PM
Mist: Fine, return Flaaffy. Bring it on. Here's my strongest pokemon. Go, Staryu!! Staryu, get out there and nail this sucker with a confusion/water gun combo.
Alice!
January 8th, 2007, 09:22 PM
Staryu let loose a Confusion attack that lifts Hikozaru and tosses him to the sand. Staryu then fires a Water Gun, but Hikozaru quickly gets to its feet and dodges the attack. Staryu floats backwards away from Hikozaru, but the fire monkey is too fast, and jumps into the air, back heel kicking Staryu in the jewel before tumbling in mid air and axe kicking Staryu down into the dirt. Staryu spins quickly to free itself from the sand and nails Hikozaru with Water Gun at close range, knocking it back.
RipTide
January 11th, 2007, 05:57 PM
Mist: Staryu! Camouflage into the sand and then sneak up on Hiko! When you get a chance, or if it finds you, hit it with the most power water gun that you can muster!
Alice!
January 28th, 2007, 01:53 PM
Staryu dives down into the sand and melts away from view. Hikozaru jumps back and lands on the top of a palm tree and starts scanning the ground. A small lump of sand seems odd, and Hikozaru jumps down on top of it. A very frightened crab runs away from the monkey's frantic attacks as Staryu pops up from behind and nails Hikozaru in the back with Water Gun for much damage.
RipTide
January 28th, 2007, 03:23 PM
Mist: Yeaaah nice! Now, while its vulnerable, throw it into the air with confusion and send it even higher with a follow up water gun. The fall to the ground should KO it.
Alice!
February 9th, 2007, 02:35 PM
Staryu blasts Hikozaru with Confusion, dealing good damage. Hikozaru is able to spiral in mid air to dodge the attack, and glares menacingly at Staryu. Staryu is unable to move for a moment, and Hikozaru takes advantage of the opening, nailing Staryu with a Scratch attack.
RipTide
February 9th, 2007, 02:49 PM
Mist: Blah. Staryu, pin that thing to the ground with confusion! Then douse it with as much water as possible. There's no way this fire monkey can take much more water.
Alice!
February 9th, 2007, 02:56 PM
Staryu lets loose a blast of psychic energy, but the flaming little monkey is speedy enough to dodge out of the way. He jumps into the air and is about to axe kick Staryu, but Staryu lets loose a powerful blast of water that sends Hikozaru sprawling.
Finish Hikozaru
RipTide
February 9th, 2007, 04:02 PM
Mist: Now's the time, Staryu! Camouflage to get close and then watergun for the win!
Alice!
March 3rd, 2007, 03:43 PM
Staryu slams into the ground and kicks up a huge cloud of dust, which, combined with Camouflage, lets it get up right behind Hikozaru and nail it with Water Gun for a critical hit, massive damage, and and a KO.
Level up for Staryu
Girl: Holy.... No one's ever beaten my Hikozaru before. You've got my respect. Here, you've earned this.
Rare Candy getted!
Girl: Well, I've got nothing else to do today. I wasn't planning on getting eliminated so quickly. Guess I'll see you around. Oh, and by the way. You better win this tournament. No way in hell I'd want to lose to anyone but the champion.
On Monday I will be pulling Snorunt out early, I don't want to wait for its next level up. So for RP's sake, I'm going to pretend I have her. I'm using this post to make some huge team edits.
~~~~
Mist: Wicked! Amazing work as usual, Staryu.
Staryu blinks its core and spirals its way back to Mist's side.
Mist: Now let's get everyone else out for a bit of relaxation before our next battle.
Mist tosses 5 other pokeballs from his belt, revealing his 6 pokemon team: Staryu, Oddish, Steelix, Yanma, Snorunt, and Vulpix. He eyes them lovingly and sighs, knowing he has to make some changes if he wants to go far in the gym leader challenge.
Mist: Okay, first, Oddish take this rare candy.
As oddish eats the sweet treat, he suddenly starts to glow, and within moments, transforms into a Gloom! But just as soon and Mist meets his newly evolved grass type, he pulls out his leaf stone, and Gloom, once again, begins to glow, transforming into a beatiful Vilplume.
Mist: Awesome, now have this. *Teaches Vileplume Sludgebomb* Now, come here Snorunt. *Snorunt gets close, smiling* Take these *gives Snorunt the awakening stone and TM: Ice Beam*
Within seconds, Snorunt too changes, along with Vulpix, who was given a fire stone. As Mist smiles at his Yukimenoko, he dumps out his savings of Rare Candies, boosting Yukimenoko up 7 levels. As his new pokemon cry out their names in delight, Mist turns to his first, and most beloved pokemon.
Mist: Here, Staryu, you can have this. *gives it a water stone and TM: Psywave* You're the greatest..... Starmie. Now where's our next opponent!
Starmie, Vileplume, Steelix, Yanma, Yukimenoko, and Ninetails all call out, ready to fight.
EDIT: Just gave Ninetails the new flamethrower TM
EDIT AGAIN: Just have Yanma the Aerial Ace
Alice!
March 19th, 2007, 05:19 PM
Cool. Now all you need is Yanmega to have a fully evolved team.
Anyway, what do now?

Let's finish this boring tournament and move on to the bike road and hopefully the gym ASAP.
Alice!
March 19th, 2007, 06:31 PM
Sorry dude, missed that.
~~~
You head back to tourney HQ, and find out, much to your surprise, that your opponent had to back out of the tournament due to medical issues. You're in the finals! The other semifinal match is still going on though, so I suppose you could go watch it finish up.
A: Check out the other match
S: Sit and be bored for a while
D: Something else
RipTide
Mist thinking: *Hm.... I should go watch that match. Maybe I'll see some cool pokemon to add to my pokedex log. And, I can watch to see what I'll be up against in the final battle.
Alice!
April 9th, 2007, 01:11 PM
You approach the semifinal fight and notice a large crowd watching the fight. Apparently there's a pretty intense battle going on. You push your way through and get to the front, where you can see the combatants. To your surprise, it's Wally and May!
Wally: C'mon Ralts, you can do it!
May: No way, Wally. Surskit's gonna take you down!
You see the two pokemon getting ready for last ditch efforts. They both seem exhausted, but they keep going anyway. Ralts centers itself and prepares a devastating Confusion attack, while Surskit gets ready with a Hydro Pump. The two attacks are let loose simultaneously, but the Confusion attack is just powerful enough to deflect the Hydro Pump. Surskit is nailed with Confusion and faints on the spot.
May: Oh no! Surskit...you fought well. Return.
Wally: Yes! Ralts, return.
The two enter the ring, shake hands, then turn to go to the tent.
May: Oh, hey there Mist.
Wally: Did you see, Mist? I'm in the finals!
Wally: Well, my pokemon are still ready to fight if yours are. Do you want to finish this now, or should we go heal up first?
Your choice, dude.
RipTide
June 12th, 2007, 04:49 PM
Mist: Let's heal up and then get back here for the final match. Is it your choice for the number of pokemon, or will an official tell us what to do since this is a tournament and all?
Alice!
June 12th, 2007, 08:48 PM
Wally: Well, there's a makeshift arena drawn in the sand near the middle of the beach. Presumably that's where the match will be held and we'll find out how many pokemon we'll use. I'll see you there in a little bit!
Do what now?
RipTide
June 18th, 2007, 07:59 PM
Let's head over to the arena and let all my pokemon out for a stretch. That way we can also show off for the crowd.
Alice!
June 19th, 2007, 11:58 PM
You get to the arena and see that a large crowd of people has already gathered. Wally is nowhere to be seen, so it looks like you get to show off!
Do your thing!
Me: Go, everybody!!
I unleash all six of my pokemon, and suddenly the crowds attention is focused on me. I smile, proud of my pokemon, and wait for the imminent ooos and aaaas.
As the pokemon are freed from their pokeballs, each one takes their chance to show off. Starmie is first, blinking its rainbow core and dazzling the crowd with occasional beams of light. Vileplume is next, dancing around in circles as he tosses petals into the air. Third comes Steelix, the glare of the sun off his metallic body stunning all those around him. His pure size and intimidating appearance captivates everybody... Then appears Yanma, breaking the crowds gaze on Steelix with the high-pitch buzzing of its powerful wings. It begins darting around and the audience's eyes attempt to follow, in awe of the bug's incredible speed. Fifth is Froslass, a pokemon new to most on the beach. Her eerie countenance frightens some of the children, but most others look on in wonder as she twirls side to side, creating puffs of snow from her hands. Last comes Ninetails, who, as soon as she appeared from her ball, began waving her tails in all directions and blowing fire into the air.
The six powerful pokemon are enough to keep the audience cheering for some time, and Mist can only smile as he waits for Wally's arrival...
Alice!
July 8th, 2007, 01:43 AM
Wally arrives in the middle of your fanfare.
Wally: Hehe, good old Mist, always the showoff. I'd rather let mt pokemon's power do the talking. Anyway, I found out from the judge that it's a three on three double battle. To make it fair, how about you send out one pokemon, then I'll send out my two, then you send out your second?
RipTide
July 10th, 2007, 02:21 PM
Mist: Arlight. Get out there Ninetails!
Alice!
July 12th, 2007, 03:13 AM
Wally: Ninetales, eh? I choose you, Diglett! And as for my other pokemon, let's go with Slakoth!
RipTide
July 16th, 2007, 11:29 AM
Mist: Go, Froslass!!
Ninetails, get in there and start things off my flamethrowing Slakoth. Surround that sucker and keep moving as to avoid any attacks, especially those from Diglett. Froslass, you keep Diglett busy. Keep using ice beam on him and try to take him out as fast as possible.
Alice!
August 9th, 2007, 10:58 PM
Ninetales lunges towards Slakoth, who raises it arms into the air and stretches as it Yawns loudly. Ninetales can't help but yawn as well, which interrupts its Flamethrower attack. Froslass uses Ice Beam on Diglett, but Diglett is faster and manages to dive below the ground before the attack connects. Ninetales recovers and blasts the now listless Slakoth with a powerful Flamethrower before being thrown off balance when the ground starts shaking violently. Ninetales, Froslass, and Slakoth all take damage from Diglett's Magnitude 7 attack.
RipTide
August 19th, 2007, 03:38 PM
Mist: Oy.... Nine, hang in their gal, we need to do some damage on that Slakoth, flamethrower is as fast as you can. Froslass, keep diglett busy with ice beam, but as soon as Ninetails falls asleep, pick her up and get into the air and out of harms way until she comes around.
Storm Wolf
January 10th, 2008, 07:15 PM
Frostlass and Diglett play a game of cat and mouse, as Diglett manages to duck out of the way of the icy attack. It sends out a slab of mud to force Frostlass to evade, then uses another to blind him momentarily.
Meanwhile, Ninetails' Flamethrower catches Slakoth with good ferocity, doing good damage. However, as Ninetails is about to exert more effort into the fiery blast, it begins to fizzle out. You stare at Ninetails to find that the Yawn's effect has now been cast and that your firefox has been induced with sleep.
Wally smirks and orders Diglett to use Magnitude, and the little mole pokemon sends a rumbling wave towards Ninetails with Magnitude 8! Frostlass, who has just about cleaned the sand from its eyes in time to rush to the fox's aid. Frostlass floats up into the air with Ninetails upon its shoulders and waits, but the cunning mole ducks underground again. Frostlass searches frantically, only to find a solid rock clatter the two pokemon for some good damage.
Mist: Argh! No...
Mist looked on at the battlefield, horrified at his inability to lay a single hit. His nerves were getting to him and it was all he could do not to call out to Wally and scold him for his tricky maneuvers.
Mist: ....fine! You want to play rough? Let's do it. Froslass, whip up a snowstorm with hail and hide with Ninetails until she wakes up. Cover her so she's not buffeted. If Slakoth or Diglett make a move, stop them in their tracks with confuse ray and lay the pain with ice beam. If Nine wakes up, tell her to heat things up with a barrage of flamethrowers.
Storm Wolf
January 11th, 2008, 02:35 PM
OOC: Ummm, I am guessing that Linux never got round to updating Wally's team?
__________
Frostlass' ghostly hands rose up slowly, summoning a powerful hailstorm to rain upon the sandy battlefield. As soon as the hail began to fail, a blanket of snow and sleet covered the sand and shrouded the sun, making it seem darker. To protect Ninetails from the hail, he encased the feiry fox in a barrier of ice just big enough for her to lay inside and stand up. An opening was left so that she could escape. With Ninetails safely covered, Frostlass attacked.
Frostlass looked for Diglett within the blizzard, and wasn't long until he had the little mole in its sights. Frostlass used an ice beam, which completely caught Diglett off guard doing great damage. Slakoth tried to yawn, but the ghostly ice pokemon threw it a strange ray of light just as it was about to open its mouth. The ray disrupted him temporarily only to continue moments later. However, Slakoth became confused as to who was Frostlass, and yawned at Digglett instead, who yawned back at him with a dreary eye.
Ninetails is still sleeping, but it looks like Frostlass is holding them up for now...
Mist smiled back at Wally, who for the first time this battle had a look of concern upon his face.
Mist: Great Froslass! If only Ninetails would wake up...
Wait a second... Mist thought. My blue flute. I have a blue flute! As quickly as he could, Mist began rummaging through his bag and within moments pulled out a long, blue-colored instrument. Immediately, Mist began to play it, waking Ninetails up. Unfortunatley for Wally, the intensity of the hailstorm created too much noise for him to hear what had just taken place.
Mist: Froslass, take care of Diglett. Ice beam and ice beam him until he finally just gives up. Ninetails, burst out of that ice with a nice flamethrower, then quick attack the confused Slakoth! Then, when you're up nice and close, flamethrower for the win!
OOC: I'm guessing that you haven't had a update for a while, so I'll do one after this match.
_________
Diglett was keeping Frostlass busy as Slakoth faces off against Ninetails. Ninetails buries the Sloth pokemon in the sand with a powerful Flamethrower, doing good damage. However, before Mist begin to cheer, Slakoth gets up rather quickly, too quickly for Mist's liking. Suddenly it begins to glow and change right before his very eyes. Before he knows it, a Vigoroth stands proudly infront of Wally. The once dreary eyes completely vanished as the plucky pokemon's vital spirit prevented its almost inevitable condition.
Meanwhile, Diglett is still hopping around, and manages to drop a rock or two onto Frostlass, doing good damage. However, it falls asleep halfway through moving and is pounded by a devestating Ice Beam from the ghostly ice pokemon.
Finish Diglett!!!
Mist: Damnit, a Vigoroth? Looks like we won't be putting him to sleep anytime soon... Screw it, let's take down Digs and then we'll double team Vigoroth, right guys?
Both Ninetails and Froslass fall back into position, crying their names in preparation to fight.
Mist: Ninetails, block Vigoroth with a confuse ray to keep it at bay while Froslass goes in for the finish on Diglett. Froslass, take it down with one last icebeam, then turn the attack on the Vigoroth!
I would love an update on both my traveling partners, although I would like to see Wally take off sometime...
OOC: As in leave to do something else, and leave your character alone? I'll PM you the new updates.
__________
Froslass goes in for the final blow on Diglett, firing a quick ice blast to finish it off rather quickly. Ninetails and Vigoroth square off, both staring each other down vigorously. Ninetails breaks the stare first, launching a flashing ray at the edgy sloth, only to see the light pass through where Vigoroth used to be. The wild Monkey jumps from out of nowhere and strikes Ninetails with a newly acquired Faint Attack, and then uses a horde of furiously flailed scratches.
