Okay, so for a few of my college applications, I have to create a portfolio of 3 songs, but I have a problem, I don't know how to write in percussion notation. If some one could give me a good reference on how to read/write in percussion notation (with examples for standard fills, etc.) I'd greatly appreciate it.

It depends on what kind of percussion you're playing. If it's for snare or drum set, then buy a book, preferrably Stick Control or New Breed. For drum set or any other percussion instrument, just get a book (Sorry, I don't know many), it will have plenty of things to reference from.
This is all the basic rudiments you'll need to write and create your own fills. (http://www.vicfirth.com/education/rudiments.html)
