What happened to Sonic? He disappears from the fantasy football league, now he's probably gonna miss his second week in a row here, too. dude2444, you should probably get back into the NFL pick'em too, you've missed a couple in a row there as well.

If anyone edits their picks before tomorrow's Auburn at South Carolina game, post to let me know.

Edit: SithLord and Piano Man also still need to get their picks in. From the nine of us that have picked:

-There are 6 unanimous picks (the first five games and Michigan too; I guarentee you at least one of those six teams will lose)
-Only Insame man has faith in GT upseting VT, three of us have Iowa at home to the Buckeyes, another three of us have Arizona State at home to the Ducks, and two people have A&M at home to Tech.

I think you are too late the Auburn SC game started already at them time you posted that.I will bwe up to Rick though but at the least you shouldn't be given a loss for the SC game cause it already started.

Rick52
September 28th, 2006, 09:36 PM
Yeah, missed it by a couple of hours. I'll be halfway lenient in that I'll let you still submit those but you'll receive no credit for picking Auburn because that game was already an hour or two in when you picked.

...and Auburn just barely squeaked by South Carolina.

Piano Man, SithLord, dude2444, and sonic have all not picked. Given the recent spurts of forum outage the past couple of days, I can understand if they were unable to get picks in because of said outage. I can't do much to help, though, so you guys better be superswift in getting those picks in on time.

smashbro14

I've never been more frustrated with Maryland. We were winning the entire game, then in the 4th quarter Lance Ball fumbles it at his own 15 the second he touches it and GT takes the lead. Then we get a 67 yard pass to get down to the 5 with 1 minute left, and the offensive line decides that they don't want to block anyone anymore. We had that game in the bag and choked horribly.

Rick52
October 7th, 2006, 07:22 PM
This was not a good week for me. I was a bad ref call away from being the only one to get Minnesota right, Arkansas with the upset (I sure know which games to pick, don't I?), and I missed on both LSU and Texas, and Tennessee is looking shaky too. I could end up just 4/10...

Edit: next week's not looking that great either in terms of marquee matchups. This is further proven by the fact that one of the games I'll have includes the Naval Academy.

Couple of notes for Week 8's games:
1) This is another bad week. Obvious from the fact that I have North Dakota State against Minnesota. WHY do I have NDSU and Minnesota? NDSU is 6-0 and is ranked 8th in I-AA right now, and Minnesota has been sucking hard lately. Granted, it's very unlikely Minnesota will lose, but hey, Colorado vs. an average Montana State turned out in the latter's favor, so you never know.
2) The ACC is my favorite conference in terms of getting me games. It's near impossible for there to be a clear favorite in two or three games every week, it seems. Though, GT-Clemson seems like a good one.
3) I'm leaving off the rankings. Probably should've done that from the start.

God dammit. I could've SWORN that I picked Texas. I thought I was having an undefeated week until I discovered that I had "picked" Nebraska. Rick, stop editing my picks!

Watching that game, I wouldn't have been mad if Nebraska won, even though went against my pick. What a good game.

Week 8 Results:
Rick: 7 (1 pt away from getting North Dakota State...)
Freakish: 8
Velocity: 7
Yue: 6
Insane man: 6
smashbro: 9
SithLord: missed, 0/10, will be dropped after this week
Piano Man: 8
Quagmire: 7
Crosshair: 9
dude2444: missed, 0/10, will be dropped after this week

I'm doing something different this week. First, here are nine games:

Clemson (at) Virginia Tech (Thursday)
Florida State (at) Maryland
Notre Dame (at) Navy
Miami FL (at) Georgia Tech
Oklahoma (at) Missouri
Georgia (at) Florida
Nebraska (at) Oklahoma State
Texas (at) Texas Tech
Tennessee (at) South Carolina

For the tenth game:
Pick any game (and its winner) between two teams from the following conferences:
*Mid-American (MAC)
*Western Athletic (WAC)
*Mountain West
*Conference USA
*Sun Belt
Both teams must be from one of those five conferences.
There are 18 games to choose from. Also, to spice things up, you can't pick the same game as another person. For example, the game I'm taking is:

Eastern Michigan (at) Western Michigan

So, now your game can't be EMU@WMU, so find another one. Let's see how this works out. You can get a list of Week 9's games here (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/scoreboard?w=9&c=all).

Velocity already took Wyoming (at) TCU, Quagmire.

Also: SithLord, dude2444, Piano Man, and Yue have all yet to pick. SithLord and dude2444 are hereby dropped.

It's too late to pick Clemson/VT for PM and Yue, but they can still come up with picks for the other nine.

Yue - missed, bye week used
Insane man - 6
smashbro - 8
Piano Man - missed, 0/10
Quagmire - 8 (TCU game didn't count because Velocity picked it first)
Crosshair - 6

Everyone got their 10th game right, mine was the closest with WMU beating EMU 18-15, while Crosshair found him a genuine, 68-10 blowout between Hawaii and Idaho.

This a good week for games. 12 this week, which will make a total of 100 picks for those of us who have yet to miss a week.

West Virginia (at) Louisville (Thursday)
Missouri (at) Nebraska
LSU (at) Tennessee
Pittsburgh (at) South Florida

Maryland (at) Clemson
Oklahoma (at) Texas A&M
Boston College (at) Wake Forest
Georgia Tech (at) NC State
Arkansas (at) South Carolina

*I think Louisville's defense will be too much for White and Slaton.
Well, I called it.

I think Pittsburgh fades down the stretch. That 6-1 record has come against hardly any legitimate teams. They lose to Rutgers’ powerful defense and rushing attack. Rutgers, after putting up a valiant fight, loses to Louisville at home in a close game. Louisville and West Virginia will make for an interesting game, considering that Louisville’s defensive strategy is to blitz, blitz, and blitz some more. That could create problems for West Virginia. I think Louisville makes it through the gauntlet and finishes the season unblemished. West Virginia, after losing to Louisville, recovers enough to take down Rutgers. So in the end, Louisville ends up undefeated, West Virginia is a one-loss BCS at-large team, and Rutgers finishes with two losses. They will easily be in the top 20, but won’t make the BCS. It’ll be a banner year for the Scarlet Knights, however, and will propel them to further success under Greg Schiano.

Please it wasn't that great of a defensive effort. You allow 540 yards it ain't defense they did cause 3 turnovers but you allow 22 yds passing which ain't that bad but the run gashed for 318 yards. Their defense needs work. Brohjm was impressive though throwing for 300 yards.

Quagmire
November 3rd, 2006, 05:36 AM
No one can stop that WVU rushing attack....any other team would get run all over, maybe not 300+ yards, but still a lot. OSU gave up like 175 yds to Wolf fo N. Ill. who doesnt have the supporting cast that Slaton does. Slaton will be a beast at the next level and i like him more than "Gods gift to the NFL" aka Reggie Bush
