here's sort of a trick question. it does have an answer, but it's obviously not one that's addressed directly in the book.

Why might Umbridge's use of the torture curse not have worked if she had been able to use it on Harry in her office?

Fair enough, but I posted that in the last 10 seconds of my I.T. class... I was frustrated, because almost every time I come in here to answer the question, someone's already got to it before me... usually Alec or shortkut. :D Nothing wrong with that, of course, they are entitled to do so. I guess that's just one thing that makes being Australian bad... the stupid time zones and how most members from America are active when I'm still asleep (around 3-4am here).
