Does anyone know of any good programs (free or costly) for getting a good techno music studio going?

Ideally I would like something that would make it easy for me to use preselect instruments as well as allow me to make my own, and have a fairly decent organizing tool so as to take out the human reaction factor as much as possible.

Suggestions?

I would say Fruityloops for synths and beats and Acid for sequencing. Both aren't free though, unless you pirate them. But hey, I'm not encouraging that

I don't think there are many freeware programs out there (good ones that is)

I've tried that before, though, and I wasn't altogether pleased with Fruityloops options.

Well, maybe I just wasn't approaching things right, or I just needed to find better instruments. :P
