~~~ BLUURRRRRRR ~~~
The blur is pretty intense, but you can make out the fire of a man in a seemingly desert like terrain doing a dance of some sort. Hopping on one leg, arms stretched out... yelling and screaming faintly heard in echos... very weird.
Narrator:
Born of a gypsy in the shadows of the night. Born with no home and no name. Freedom. Complete freedom. I've come and I've gone from the spotlight and I've made my home where I please. You've taken this trip with me, this mind blowing adventure. You dance. Dance, dance with me. Let my words, let my visions, let them flow... let them breathe... I see you, the real you, and I don't care for it. I see you, the real you, and I won't stand for it.
I was once a king of my domain. I once had the novelty of being called "eccentric", where now I'm simply insane. I burned my bridges and I cannot go back. I'll settle here and I'll settle for nothing but the best. I was born in adversity, but I was born to be a king. I was dethroned and exiled. Cast out and written out.
Not anymore.
The scene fades and then fades into a man standing backstage. IT'S BLAKE HADES! Or is it? He looks really different.
Blake:
Now... now I guess I'm a warrior. Is that what I've come to believe? I sign the dotted line and just like that I'm a blood thirsty warrior? No, no, come to think of it... come to think of it blood thirsty warriors aren't really welcomed here. No, that's tabboo. What are we, then? What have we become?
Here in the PWW, I guess it's not about beating your opponent within inches of death. I guess it's not about winning by any means necessary. I guess I need to learn and adapt and ultimately evolve into this new landscape. I guess that's just what I'll have to do... or will I?
Do you even know me? Do you understand me? No, you don't know me and you don't understand me. You don't why I'm here, why I'm wasting your time with retoracle questions. I'm not here to be molded and I'm not here to conform. I'm not here because I need to pay child support on my illegitimate, half Asian love-child.
I've become something else. I'm not your good time braggart anymore. I've lost what I once had. No more Peyton Manning, no more Tony Danza, no more private jets. I'm finally off the f*cking gravy train and you know what?
I'm loving it.
I don't f*cking care anymore. I've absolved myself of everything I once was and I've taken a trip into a foreign land. Farther away than England, more ass-backwards than Thailand. I've taken a trip somewhere few have ever managed to step foot and that is I've settled in on my own f*cking mind.
I'm not here to conform to your rules. Your codes. Your penalties. I'm a free man now. The levies have broken and I'm running wild. I've had to change my name, my identity, my appearance, but I've finally broke free and have become what I always knew I could be.
My name is Blake Straker. Blake. Straker. Blake Hades died, R.I.P., months ago and all that is left is Blake Straker. Like him, love him, hate him, so be it. I feel the same for you. Each and every one of you. I've gained a new sense of being, a new grasp on my powers, a new identity and altered ego. I am ready to be the king I was destined to become. The snake in the grass, the camillian right in front of your face that you can not see or touch or predict.
I am the "Lizard King" and I can do anything. I am Blake Straker.
And this ramble fest is cut!
I really liked this promo; I don't get the Lizard King reference at the end, but I'm really digging Straker as a whole.
Yeah, PWW, for being such a match-oriented fed, has some great promos.
Well, it's not just about the matches. Just because PWW is a non-sports-entertainment company, that doesn't mean there can't be awesome characters and awesome feuds. If anything, it'll be a benefit to the cause, not a detriment; and match RP's aren't mandatory, but they're appreciated, sort of like posting moves in requests.
