Mr. Pokemon: Ah, an excellent choice. That egg should hatch into a steel type. Though of course, it could be something completely different.

You take the egg and put it in your pack. With a wave and a smile you leave Mr. Pokemon's house with a new egg in tow. You continue along the path, noticing many Pokemon going about their lives. You cant help but smile at the world around you. You quickly frown, however, because you hear a strange sound. It sounds like a motor. It's coming from the east, towards a forest.

What do you do?

[Mr. Blue!]

Well I'm gonna obviously see what's going on.

You follow the sound to a small clearing in the forest. There are many people dressed in the same attire as the grunt you ran into at Mr. Pokemon's house. There is a truck which explains the motor. In it you see caged Pokemon, but you cant tell if they are wild or if they've been stolen. You quickly scan the area and see four of them. The one you ran into earlier is nowhere to be found. You think you might be able to take them on one on one, but there is always the option that they wouldn't play fair.

What do you do?

[Mr. Blue!]

Kurtis: Hmm. This is gonna be tough. Come on out Horsea, Murkrow, Sneasel. Horsea, get it raining in here. Murkrow, I want you to surround them with mirrors using Mirror Move. The confusion should give Sneasel enough time to slip in and snatch that pokemon.

Horsea uses rain dance and immediatly it begins to rain buckets. The grunts run to find protection from the downpour, but Murkrow's mirror move succesfully corners them. Sneasel undoes the lock on the cages with its claws, freeing the Pokemon. They quickly scatter. Sneasel turns to return to you when a bag is placed over its head. You look and see the same grunt from Mr. Pokemon's house.

Grunt: Heh, not so confident now, are you? I've got your Sneasel and I have no intention of giving it back.

Murkrow returns to your side, its Mirror Move finally finally wearing off. The grunts come at you and you are quickly surrounded. A distant rumbling is heard and it seems to be getting louder. The grunts move closer with an intent to nab your Horsea and Murkrow. They are about to swipe them when two officers arrive on the scene in a motorbike. In the co seat is Mr. Pokemon.

Officer: Stop what you're doing and put your hands up.

Grunt: Yeah, as if we're going to listen to you.

The officers send out two Growlithes each. The grunts send out their Pokemon to do battle. You are facing the one with your Sneasel. He has a smirk on his face as if saying that he has already won.

You: I hope you know that I'll be getting my Sneasel back.

The grunt sends out a Koffing as if challenging you for Sneasel. Koffing covers the area with a thick smoke. You can hardly see but you can faintly make out the grunt's shadow making a run for it, Sneasel tucked under his arm.

What do you do?

Kurtis: Houndour, Pursuit! Get Sneasel back here.

Houndour takes off after the grunt. Soon the smoke clears and you see the police leading the grunts in handcuffs. Without hesitation you take off after the grunt and Houndour. You dont run far before you see the grunt on the ground in pain. Obviously Houndour found its mark. You take Sneasel back as the gunt quickly jumps to his feet.

Grunt: Kid, you've made me angry. I will take your Sneasel and all of your Pokemon by force! Koffing, let's go!

He's obviosuly looking for a battle, and it looks like it'll be a piece of cake for you.

Fight or run?

[Mr. Blue!]

Kurtis: Let's go Murkrow. Show him how its done. Drill Peck.

Murkrow flies a few feet off the ground and begins to spin quickly. His speed speeds up and he flies into Koffing, knocking it back a few feet. Koffing retaliates with a purple gas that covers Murkrow. Murkrow lands but you detect no signs of poison.

Grunt: Hope your Murkrow likes poison!

He thinks he's already won.

[Mr. Blue!]

Murkrow, use Torment. Then Drill him again.

Murkrow flares up and frightens Koffing. Koffing tries to use another poison gas but nothing happens.

Grunt: Koffing, tackle!

Koffing goes in to tackle and is hit by Murkrow's drill peck. Both Pokemon recieved damage, though Koffing took more.

[Mr. Blue!]

Drill him again!

Koffing fills the area with a mist. Murkrow has difficulty seeing, but manages to hit Koffing as he is spilling out smog.

Finish Koffing.

[Mr. Blue!]

Peck!

Murkrow flies over to Koffing and pecks him in the eye. Koffing goes down.

Grunt: You just got lucky. You haven't seen the last of me or Team Rocket!

He turns to run away but is stopped by an officer. Within minutes he is with his fellow team members heading towards jail. An officer approaches you.

Officer: Thanks for your help. It should be a little safer around here. Would you like a ride to town, it's late and I'm sure you're tired.

Accept the ride or walk?

[Mr. Blue!]

I'll ride.

You hope in the sidecar and the engine starts. The wind blows your hair back as you speed towards Cherrygrove. Minutes pass and the bike skids to a stop in front of the Pokemon center. With a final wave and a thanks the officer drives off towards the station. You yawn and head to the Pokemon center to rest for the night.

The next morning you awake bright and early to start your day. You head to the city limits and see two roads. One leads to a cave and the other is filled with wild Pokemon and trainers.

What do you do?

Let's take the one that heads toward Violet!

You walk along the path taking in your surrondings when a kid runs past laughing.

Kid: Those were the rules, you agreed to them! Ha ha!

The kid runs away and a small boy comes up to you, tears in his eyes.

Boy: Mister, can you help me? That kid beat me in a battle and took my best Pokemon.

Help? Leave?

[Mr. Blue!]

What did he take?

The kid is rather small and looks to be a rookie trainer.

Kid: I only have one Pokemon. He stole my Panphy I got from dad. I dont know what to do.

The kid begins to cry.

[Mr. Blue!]

I'll take care of it. Let's go talk to the kid.

You head to where the kid ran off to. When you approach you hear someone crying. It sounds like someone is really upset. You follow the tears and find the kid that stole the Panphy. You stop and wonder why he would be crying. You see the Panphy drinking water a little farther off from a stream. You could easily take the Panphy back and leave the kid to cry.

What do you do?

[Mr. Blue!]

I think I'll find out what happened.

You approach the kid who seems hesitant when you step near him. You assure him that you mean no harm and he lets his guard down. You sit next to him and ask him what's wrong.

Kid: I feel bad about what I did. I know stealing is bad, but I did it anyway.

You: Why did you steal the Panphy?

Kid: Because I wanted a Pokemon and I cant catch one no matter how hard I try. And now that other kid hates me. I dont want people to hate me, I want to make lots of friends.

You: It's hard to make friends when you steal things precious to them.

Kid: I know. What should I do?

You: Come on, let's bring his Panphy back.

You and the kid bring the Panphy back to the small boy. You explain what happens and the small boy turns to face the kid.

Boy: I forgive you. But you should have said so. Come on, I'll help you catch a Pokemon.

Kid: Really?

Boy: Yeah!

They run off together, leaving you alone and feeling warm inside due to your kindness and how it brought two enemies together. The day is still young and you've got some ground to cover. The path splits three ways up ahead: up, left, and right. You know there is no right or wrong path, but where you choose to go is up to you.
