Old Championship Manager

Im quite set in my ways when it comes to games so I still play some of the old versions of championship manager, so I was just wondering does anybody else out there do this also? and if so which version and which year?

I don't really play older versions. I always play my most up to date version, though sometimes it does take me a couple of years to update.

My most played CM was probably 99/00. I didn't actually update that until 01/02, and that was right before the next game came out.

im still playing 01/02, i keep it data edited but i love its format, ive tried the newer versions but ive been unimpressed. for years i played 97/98 and loved it but that got a little over simple

What is it about the newer formats you don't like? Assuming you're talking about Football Manager now of course.

i remember playing the very first Champ Man, it was one of the games that came free with my first PC. one time Villa player Nii Lamptey was the best player in the game.
but like Jamie, i like having the up to date teams and transfers, and the features in the newer games like Football Manager are a lot better.

both football manager and the new champ managers, theres a bit too much depth,

i got half way through a season with man utd and then had to spend half an hour sorting out new contracts for half the youth reserve and first team setup, this isnt fun to me as much as love utd i know very few of their youth players so ended up giving them all a new deal.

then theres the transfers, i dont expect to get every player as soon as i want them but man it was rediculous on these games to get even a mediocre player, i tried with chelsea to and still never managed to lure anyone

so yeah as i said i keep my 01/02 upto date and im comfortable with that
