View Full Version : NFL Survival League!

I'm starting one of these babies up. For those of you who have never played this before, it's quite simple. You pick one team per week. If that team wins, you move on to the next week, and if they lose, you are out. The only catch is that you cannot pick a team more than once. If you don't pick anybody one week, then you're out. The last man standing wins.
You can sign up until the last game this week ends, but you can obviously not make a pick for a team that has already played. For example, if you sign up Friday you may not pick Miami or Pittsburgh. Once the 9:00 monday night game begins, sign ups are officially over.
When you join, you can go ahead and pick a team right away.

Hey, it could happen. The 49ers are better than the Raiders...

I'd like to sign up. I know I am an hour late, but the San Diego - Oakland game has just started. It's 3-0 San Diego now, so I'll pick Oakland if I can. :) (just to be fair)
Freakish
September 11th, 2006, 09:56 PM
Hehe, your boned Brian. Never pick the Raiders, especially against a godly team like the Chargers. I mean the Raiders don't even have a legitimate QB
Velocity
September 11th, 2006, 11:01 PM
That and Oakland is getting raped by the Chargers as we speak. Brooks is doing nothing.
But in any case. I was about freaked when I saw the Arizona-San Francisco score and how close it was. But then I figured... watch, everyone picks Arizona and San Fran will make it a game.
Freakish
September 11th, 2006, 11:23 PM
Brooks is still doing a little more than Rivers. If the game is indicative of the year, LT is gonna be dead by the end of the year. They seriously need to have Rivers throwing more than once or twice a quarter. Hasn't made any bad decisions, his throws are on the money, but with Oakland stacking the box, a bootleg or any pass would hit a monster gain
Rivers just made a perfect 38 yard throw. People are gonna hate Rivers if he only throws on 3rd and 7 and doesn't convert all the time
James89
September 11th, 2006, 11:37 PM
Marty has to stop babying Rivers. LT wont last the season at this rate.
Insane man
September 12th, 2006, 12:17 AM
See the thing is to me at least that amrty was trying to run down the clock. H e saw the Raiders offense was terrilbe and pathetic. He just wanted to keep moving the clock then finally let him loose. I think he wants to bring him along slowly. There was no need for him tot hrow the ball 20 times. As the season progresses i expect him to let Rivers loose a little more than he did.
smashbro14
September 12th, 2006, 11:04 AM
Brian is silly. I'll put you in the first post just for sh!ts and giggles.
I have a LOT of stuff to say about the Redskins game last night, and guess what... you'll all get to hear it later today! Maybe.
I told you guys the 49ers could surprise everyone. They didn't, but they came damn close.
So three (or four counting Brian) people are eliminated. Hehe.
Insane man
September 12th, 2006, 11:51 AM
The Redskins defense couldn't get off the field on thrid down. Minnesota was 9-17 on third down. They made Brad johnson look good. Sure there were some bad calls that went against washington but some did go against Minnesota like that roughing the passer call. I think the Redskins overpaid for some people. Brandon LLoyd was he even playing? I know he was but never did anything in that game. Also they should have gotten the ball to Santana Moss more. 3 catches for 69 yards but he needed more than that.
Freakish
September 12th, 2006, 05:42 PM
Week 2 I'm picking the Ravens, especially the way the Raiders played last night.
IM, I'm fine with Marty running the ball in the fourth quarter, but in the first quarter on 3rd and long he was still running it. At that point, its too early to know that the Raiders offense was gonna be that bad
