View Full Version : Telling the Future

This has been in my mind for at least two days now since it happened. Ok, here's the situation:
I was in bed, listening to music (Only, by Nine Inch Nails). About two seconds into the song, I dosed off. I dreamt of the rest of the song. Finally I woke up, and the song picked up again after the two seconds. Since I have a clock radio, it was the exact time still. A similar situation happened the next morning, when I dreamt that my mom had to bring my aunt some medicine, since she was sick. Soon enough, my mom came in my room, woke me up, and told me that she had to bring my aunt some medicine, since she was sick. Was this two cases of me telling the future?

Wow, IM not the only one eh?
Well i was at school And i did the same thing someone, just kinda drifted off and dreamed that there was this kid who trheatned to have a bomb and whatnot and when I woke up [ or something like that] it was my friend telling me we had to get out of the buidling because someone said they had a bomb and whatnot.

I'm one to believe in some people being prophetic. This is from experience.

I've had it happen to me many times where I dreamed something and then it happened, though I can't always remember them all when I wake up but when they "come true" I do. Sometimes I think the dreams are a warning though, because a few times when the "deja vu" of what I dreamed happens I have this feeling of dread that something horrible is about to happen or was suppose to happen but didn't. If that makes any sense.

I think it`s just Daja Vu. I don`t believe in Physics. What they do is basically look at details of you. Like from your wallet when you give them money. They may see you have a family. Then they will say "I see you have a family." and play off that. I don`t know about the dreams though...

Quite honestly, I think some people overestimate the importance of certain experiences they have had. Frankly, I find it hard to believe you people just "dream" the future.
What I have had happen to me on many occasions is if I am sleeping and I hear some loud talking, unexptected noises, telephone ring etc, I become concious of what is going on around me yet still dreaming in an asleep state. Its a bit hard to explain but it becomes a tapestry of reality and imagination inside your head. Basically I was drifting back and forth through the realms of conciousnous and unconciousness. No offense if you truly want to beleieve you can tell the future, but this seems like a much logical explanation (that I have personally experienced)

I know what you are talking about, I have dreamed up situations that happened only years down the road. But I think that is just you taking things from dreams and modifying it seem like Deja vu.
Here lately, I have been having this wierd thing with just words or numbers though. Like one of my friends would be trying to find a number that would exagerate a situation well and I will think "heh heh, like 46" and they will say "this has happened like... 46 times" all while I'm thinking "Holy sh*t"
Does any one else do this?

okay, this my seem pretty cheesy to you guys but its true, they say some people have the abilty to learn in there sleep, well some times i get dreams of some event that happens or some thing out of the random that envolve real people real places etc. anyways after i wake up, that dream seems "fuzzy" to me but some how i can remember that specfic dream all day until it actully happens, it odd iknow but it also pretty cool.

Well heres exactly what happens to me. I dream of something like me kicking a friend at school for an example, it sometimes takes weeks or even months for it to happen but once it does happen, i remember it at that same moment. Its freaky sometimes

Anyone that received supposed messages of future events must question the source of these messages. Why they are receiving them, the person's life and faith comes to question too. And if even one prophecy is wrong, that is a false prophet.

well we use only 10% of our brains. well what if we were able to tap into that other 90 percent. it could give us powers like telepathy, levitation, time travel, etc... that might be what happened or i could just be total lunatic:paranoid:

Actually some peope do use bigger portions of there brains but they dont (or at least havnt said anything about) have psychic powers.
But they are more open minded willing to consider someone elses veiw even if it is the complete oposite of theres and are able to think outside the box.

That's a misconception. We do use all of our brains. It's just that we're only using 10% of it at ONE TIME. We DO use 100% of our brains, just not all at the same time.

Actually, I just looked it up on Wikipedia, and though that's not the most trustworthy site in the world, I did find this little thing:
If all of a person's neurons began firing at once he would not become smarter, but would instead suffer a seizure. In fact, studies have shown that the brains of more intelligent people are less active than the brains of less intelligent people when working on the same problems.
If this is true, it pretty much disproves what you just said.

Well there was this one time I was on a ferris wheel with a friend. I told him that if I spat on the girls head below us that she would probably say "Eww...Bird poop!" and I did it and it came true. Ah, the humorous days of elementary school.

That's a big coincidence. Meh. My G/F REads my mind all the time, can get annoying sometimes. Like, whenI'm about to say something, and she says it,like the second before I start to speak. Or, we both say something at the same time. My friend says we're synchronised:S
Ein

Synchronized is the word, yes. Most of the time, when such incidents occur, it's due to synchronization of minds or pure coincidences.
I don't know if it would actually be possible to read minds and all of the other previously mentioned talents if all of our "potential" was tapped, but I do know that several people of Latin and Native-American decent have been known for possessing similiar, if not "minor", capabilities.
I myself am part hispanic and native american. I'll reveal this much...on more than one occasion I've "seen" the future and whether three days or three months later, it came true.
Anyone ever heard of the Astral Plane?

I don't really believe in this whole predicting the future. To me the future is just a series of possible outcomes that is determined by the actions of the present. To men predicting the future is no different than saying who was going to win the world series.
My main reason for disbelief is if the future is already determined and can be predicted then in actually the idea of free will is false. The choice people make are not really choices at all since it's set in stone that these are the actions that will be taken to which will lead into the future thus making the ability to predict the future possible.

hmm don't mean to bump old topics but its just to interesting for me not to say this. My grandmother can since feelings, Like she can see past you even if their is no signs. I'm not talking like shes a good guesser or just can tell about how sad you look. Heres an example, My mother and I were going through a ruffpatch one day where tons of bad stuff happend i won't go into detail and she called up asking what was wrong. The first thing she asked was "is everything alright? I just had a feeling" my mother has told me that many times my grandmother could feel your feelings, I have had my own experiences with her proving so. My mothers side of the family has a past of lots supernatural wierd things happening. When my mother was in her early teens she would have simi telekinetic powers of sorts. Her sisters would always tease her because when she walked into a store or an small area objects would litteraly fly off the shelves (not like falling of but like they were thrown). I heard at one point 6 things flew onto the floor all at once. She told me things like that hasn't happened to her since she in her early teens. Then here comes the part where I can relate. When I was about 6-8 years old I would have extreme de'ja vu to the point of things repeating about 3 times in a row till the point of being afraid but yet amused. It seemed to only happen when I was stationary. Hasn't ever happened since I was 8. If you believe in human evolution this might explain why strange things in the mind happen like this. Some just are more intune then others, Children more than adults.

I don't believe in evolution, but I do believe in gifts from God, such as the thing with your grandma.

Well like I said, I don't there is a such thing as telling the future but more like predicting a possible outcome of the future based on current or past events. I
In order for the future to be certain there has to be something to bind that future. Think of it as a dvd. You can start the movie and fast forward (the future) it at anytime or rewind it (the past) since the movie is binded to a physical disc. I don't think life is binded in that manner to where the future and past is already set and all we are doing is living our lives as if it's a dvd.

I can see into the future a couple of days ahead because I'm part Native American, and receiving visions is like a rite of passage.

I sometimes "dream" about what happens in the future, and it would be the most random things, like what I play with, what I say to someone or something random, and then at random times, it becomes a reality, exact actions, words and movements.

I have what I am now calling the "stupid telepathy" which I share with my closest friends and a few strangers as well. I never know when it will kick in, but one thing I do know is that the info will be completely useless, and neither good nor bad. It is merely stupid. I'll say what the other person is thinking, finish their sentences, say the word that they are at a loss for, and predict their upcoming behavior. I have also been able to sense what weather is on the way. My joints don't ache like that, so I didn't cheat. Also, the stupid telepathy happens regularly, often several times a day.

Yeah I I think I have more of that stupid telepathy :D. Things that really matter a whole lot but you just know it, maybe a better name is trivial telepathy? One time I was talking to someone at my college, and then one of those pauses kicked in when you run out of things to say. Suddenly I beleive he is about to take his lap top out, but it will be out of power, and he will say "Oh, nevermind... no power." and sure enough he did. In my own theroy I beleive that the human brain is capible of caculating the odds of something happening or not. this thinking maks telepathy less...whats a good word... "fantasy"? and more scientific, to a degree. Funny thing is I had this theory for a long time, then I watched the Chronicles of Riddick and that one Elemental Woman could do that and I was like "That was my idea.... :("
