I was debating between Brooks and Taylor and another stud DE. Hopefully he lasts until my next pick. Yue is up.
Scruffy
August 13th, 2006, 07:03 PM
Umm... Imma stick with my hometown boys and take Bob Sanders, Secondary (FS), Colts.
James89
August 13th, 2006, 08:28 PM
Alright, it is smashbro's pick.
And you can just call all secondary players DBs.
smashbro14
August 13th, 2006, 08:56 PM
I'll pick... Shawne Merriman, LB, Chargers.
I almost snagged one of my favorite Redskins, Marcus Washington...
Tom is up.
James89
August 13th, 2006, 09:06 PM
smash, do you want to shorten the time after this round?
smashbro14
August 13th, 2006, 09:13 PM
Sure, why not. How about we shorten it to... 18 hours?
And what times are you available over the next two weeks for one of those huge draft parties? You can PM me some times or just post them here. Whatever.
James89
August 13th, 2006, 09:18 PM
I was thinking 12 hours. And on the 17th (thursday) I have to get my schedule for my LAST year of high school. Yea im pretty nervous. Plus they are going inside training camp with the niners on tuesday. (cant wait :D) But yea, unless something unexpected comes up, im free whenever.
The Eye in the Sky!
August 13th, 2006, 09:18 PM
Going for some sleeper picks.
10th round pick: Steve McNair (QB)
11th round pick: Keyshawn Johnson (WR)
smashbro14
August 13th, 2006, 09:33 PM
Alright I've been thinking about this pick since Wednesday, and I'm going to pick a guy I wasn't even considering until Alex Smith played pretty well. I'm not picking McCardell because of his age, and not Muhammad because of Grossman's health, so...
I'm picking Antonio Bryant, WR, 49ers.
Lets change it to 12 hours later on in the draft, like around the 16th or 18th round. That could be a little too short for right now. If somebody picks at midnight, that means that the next person's time is up at noon. I know a lot of people sleep throughout that time, so lets just make it 18 hours for now.
James89
August 13th, 2006, 09:40 PM
Yea that sounds fair smashbro. And hooray for smashbro for taking a chance on Alex Smith. Lets just hope that Smith isnt teasing all of us. That would suck for both of us, but for me more.
Wow Tom those picks were awful. There are plenty of other Recievers who are better than Keyshawn and McNair will only start once unless Brady gets injured. Anyways here is the recap of round 10.
Big Da- d’oh! – The Troopers- Donnie Edwards, LB, San Diego
Freakish – Deja Entendu- Osi Umenyiora, DL, New York Giants
Gabby Jay – The Hard Hittaz- Derrick Burgess, DL, Oakland
XzKronos – Wildboyz- Roy Williams, DB, Cowboys
Dr. Doom – Doom- Jason Taylor, DL, Miami
sUpEr SoNiC_80 – The Purple $corpions- A.J. Hawk, LB, Green Bay
James89 – Sexy Mother F’ers- Derrick Brooks, LB, Tampon Bay
Velocity – The Velociraptors- Robert Mathis, DL, Indianapolis
Pontus - The Sea Gods- Sean Taylor, DB, Trashington
Yue – Hot Dice- Bob Sanders, DB, Indianapolis
Smashbro14 – The Smashbr-Owners- Shawn Merriman, LB, San Diego
The Eye in the Sky! – The Laughing Mules- Steve McNair, QB, Baltimore
The Eye in the Sky!
August 13th, 2006, 09:51 PM
I find my picks to be decent for the 10th and 11th round. McNair is an injury-free season away from being a top QB while Keyshawn will get have more catches and touchdowns than people think he will.
I don't agree with alot of these picks, but like other people, I went out on a limb to pick someone. I don't appreciate being insulted for them. Who is anyone to say how the season is going to play out just from statistics in past seasons?
James89
August 13th, 2006, 09:55 PM
Im sorry, I dont know why I choose to speak out at yours, as I too disagree with some picks people have made. Ill just leave it at that, unless you want me to go into depth as to why I think those picks sucked.
The Eye in the Sky!

No, I'm good. I like my picks and stand by them. This is the first time I've ever done a fantasy draft, so I'm not too concerned about how well I do.

Whaat..?
If you mean Boller, Mcnair's already gotten the nod for the job.
Hmm..its true though, Criticism isn't really required...meh.
The Mcnair pick, you're right about.Keyshawn...no idea.
Edit: Tom, for you're first fantasy draft ever? I would say, pretty damn good. But..the Pats affected you ;)

Brady..in his team..nevermind.

Alright, I just realized a big problem. Tom left either this morning ot last night for Virginia Beach, and he'll be gone for a couple weeks. I'm guessing he just... forgot to make a list, considering that he told me himself that he would be making one for his vacation. I might just pick for him, because it's not like he's going to be missing picks because of lack of interest, and he did tell me about the vacation. I'm too nice to simply watch him get kicked out because of this, because unless we get about 1 pick per day during hs absence, he's going to be extremely late. If we don't do a big draft night (we need to make a name for this) then he might only miss just the two picks, but he'll probably miss four. So yeah, I'll probably just pick for him unless you guys have huge problems with this. And I'll pick what he would have picked, which basically means he'll probably have another Patriot or two when he returns.
James89

I like the name of "Big Draft Night". But not as much as I liked "PICK A TEAM NAME ALREADY!" Stupid Pontus. lol jk
Speaking of Big Draft Night, we are going to do another one. I will be available for this one. Me and smash were thinking either this sunday or monday, with 3-7 pacific the preferred time. Everyone ok with this?

Pontus, you are a cool guy. Alright, so we have got Me, smash, Gabby, and Pontus down for either sunday or monday. I think we need about 3 more people to show up, since we will be picking Eye in the Sky (aka Tom). That would make 8 people here, and 4 people on "auto pilot".
The Eye in the Sky!

smashbro14 selects Aaron Schobel, DL, Bills
Yue is up again.
Okay, technically Sonic should be kicked out right now, but because we had these 4 picks in a row, because it's this late in the draft, and because James convinced me otherwise, we will give him a little more time. If Sonic does not pick by the time his next pick time ends, he's out. He's lucky he has James to help him out because I do not think that James and I should have to PM him for most of his picks, and that he should check this thread once a day on his own. Sorry... this is just REALLY pissing me off...
After reading that last part over again, I feel the need to say "no offense" to Sonic :).
Velocity
August 18th, 2006, 08:01 PM
I have a question, though. What happens if/when someone is kicked out now? Do the players just go back into the pool?
smashbro14
August 18th, 2006, 08:06 PM
No, we have a replacement who takes over the team. Zackman is that guy. He PM'd me shortly before the first Big Draft Night asking if it was too late, and I said yes, but he could top the "waiting list."
And if we did just send all the players into the pool, it would severely screw up the schedule that took me like 2 weeks to create :P.

And yeah, so are Sonic and Yue going to be at the Big Draft Night on Monday?
James89

Yue you are killing me. It doesnt take that long to look over the list of players taken.
And Velo has until sunday at about 11:00 am to make his pick.
EDIT: That would be Pacific time.
Rick52
August 20th, 2006, 09:18 AM
To be fair, he thought Lewis was a LB, and he was listed as a DB. He probably checked the list of LB's to see his name not there.
Also, Velocity already has picked. It's actually your pick, James, and you've got about 7 hours left to make it. :-\
Edit: Are you guys using a website for help determining which position some of those defensive guys play? If so, which one? I'm guessing some sites have guys listed at different positions than other sites. I'm using Yahoo as my reference site, for the record.

Now I have 3 LBs who can start at any given time.
