Yes before you say there are still some out there i know. But how do YOU feel about them being banned and forcing people that want to learn it to buy the tab book?

Bah that's crap. Tabs were great. I don't see why it's illegal to give out free fan interpretations.

It would be one thing if people copied down an official sheet of music and distributed it around for free, but if it's a person's interpretation of the song, or if they pieced it together by themselves, or whatever, it should be allowed.

Of course, I don't have a clue whether that makes it legal or not, but I just think if it's something that a fan worked on, they should be able to pass it around and help other people out.

Hmm.

Yay for playing by ear.

As for tabs, people will find a way around it. They'll never leave the internet.

That doesn't phase me much. I never use them.

I know that one of the most popular ones Ultimate Guitar Archive are having a last stand. They are fighting back and also claiming that they are based in Russia so the US-based MPA cannot force them to do anything. Go UG!

Haha, go Russia. I have faith in you.

Dammit, Legend. You put tabs site instead of tab sites, my OCD is going nuts.

Y'know, UG is a very nice tab site, so it's nice to see they're fighting back. Woohoo loopholes.

Hehe yeah. I wondered why UG was still up and running when I checked the other day.

I was more than upset when I went to mxtabs a while ago, only to see them make an annoucement that what they did was illegal and they shut down or whatever.

I think UltimateGuitar.com is still up and running, but it's not fair to guitar players that they shut these sites down. Tabs aren't really even correct versions of songs, like everybody's been saying they're just someone's personal interpretation of a song.

Funny enough, some bands themselves put tabs up on some of these sites. Iron Man anybody? Correct me if I'm mistaken.

It's stupid. I hate that company with a passion, they are just ruining music for others.

I think UltimateGuitar.com is still up and running.

That's my favorite tab site. I get powertabs there all the time.

EDIT: I personally think it's a stupid law, but it still is one, so people have to respect it.

heh, I got an account there, and thats where I get most of my tabs from, but I usually just learn songs from friends, much easier than tabs
