You enter confidently, and two trainers emerge from the gloom.

Black-Belt: Hold it twerp. You don't get to fight the leader until you get past us!
Karate Girl: That's right, so why don't you just send out your pokemon now.
May: Hey, wait a moment. What about us?
Wally: Yeah! We'll take you on.
Black-Belt: Fine by me. Go Machop!
Karate Girl: Go Meditite!

As the battle starts, you slip past and continue through the maze, soon reaching Brawly....

Mist: Brawley, where are you? I'm here to fight!

Alice!

Brawley: Well now, this is a surprise! I haven't had a challenger here in a long-time! Good thing I've been keeping my pokemon in tip-top shape. This will be a double-battle with one switch-in allowed. That means that after your first pokemon faints, you can switch in a new one, but after that you'll have to stick with whatevers left. I'll send out one of my pokemon, then you send out both of yours, then I'll send out one more. That's the most fair thing, right? I choose you, Meditite!

~~~
And I'll assume you know the rules about half stats-half RP.
Mist: Alright, let's get this done. Go Staryu! (level 18) and Yanma! (level 17). We're ready for you.
~~~
Can you please say the levels of the pokemon, or are you keeping them hidden?

Alice!

I think I really need to start getting in the habit of posting levels immediately.... Meditite = Level 17

~~~
Brawley: All right, this'll be fun! I also choose Machop! (Level 18)
Make your move
Mist: Staryu, take on Machop to start. Try to pick it up with confusion and toss it at Meditite for some extra damage! If it somehow manages to reach you and it attacks with some kind of physical attack, harden before it hits you so it hurts itself. Then blast it away watergun!
Yanma, get speed boost going by using Quick Attack to zoom around Meditite. Then rattle your wings at high speeds to distract Meditite with the odd sounds, and then smack it hard with the resulting Sonic Boom!!
Alice!
Machop jumps towards Staryu with a powerful kick before Staryu has time to react. The Low Kick attack connects with Staryu's crystal, dealing a goodly amount of damage, but Staryu is able to retaliate immediately and hits Machop with Confusion, picking it up and throwing him towards Meditite. Yanma speeds around Meditite and rattles its wings, but Meditite assumes a meditative stance and is completely unaffected by Yanma's mindgames. Yanma blasts Meditite with Sonicboom which connects and forces Meditite out of its trance. Meditite then stares hard at Yanma as it flies around and grabs it with Confusion, slamming it into the aforementioned tossed Machop.
Yanma - 37/46
Staryu - 42/47
Meditite - 45/50
Machop - 40/52
You forgot to put up the stats.. =[
~~~

Mist: Nice work guys, but we can do better. Staryu, start hardening, and if Machop comes at you turn around so it hits your rocksolid back. Make sure you blast it away with confusion as much as you can. We need to bring one of these pokemon down FAST!

Yanma, it's using Mind Reader, so it attacks are going to be almost impossible to avoid. Keep it from focusing by hitting it with Sonic Boom over and over. But whatever you do, DON'T stop flittering around. Make it as hard as you can for it to make an attack hit, and make sure you keep boosting your speed! Soon you should be near impossible to see!

Ermmh...I didn't now.

Staryu blasts away with Confusion, but the fleet footed Machop is able to dodge the assault. Staryu pauses for a moment to use Harden, and Machop takes the opportunity to clench its feet and focus its mind. Stary starts using Confusion again, and connects, but Machop is able to break out of the attack and jumps towards Staryu, hitting it with a Karate Chop to one of its arms. Yanma speeds around Meditite quickly, hitting it with Sonicbooms left and right. Meditite has been unmoved during the attacks, but suddenly throws up its arms, deflecting the attack back towards Yanma. The reflected energy connects, and deals massive damage. Meditite then jumps towards Yanma and tries to punch it, but Yanma is able to dodge it. The attack creates a surprisingly large crater in the gym floor....

Yanma - 20/46
Staryu - 36/47
Meditite - 33/50
Machop - 24/52

Mist: Okay Yanma, it wasn't mind reader, it was Meditate, and it was using it to raise its attack. That's fine since it only knows special attacks accept for that bide it just use and whatever that huge punch was. You need to watch out for its big punch. Even though being flying type makes you resistant, it is still going to hurt. If it bides, just zoom around and boost your speed. But until then quick attack and then hammer it at close range with silver wind!

Staryu, use recover to regain some energy. Then starts hardening like crazy. Watergun to boost yourself way above Machop and then harden as you come crashing down ontop of it. Then throw it into the crater with confusion.

Yanma eyes Meditite carefully as it assumes a meditative stance. It's incredible eyesight allows it to see that the stance is the one it used the first time, so Yanma uses Quick Attack to slam into it and blast it with Silver Wind. Yanma then resumes flying around Meditite, and Meditite jumps towards it with its fist held out. Yanma dodges easily and thinks it was rather good at dodging until it notices that Meditite had a different target in mind. Staryu, having just finished using Recover, was not expecting the massive pain it was know feeling where Meditite's fist slammed into its back. Staryu then uses Harden as a reflex while Machop kicks it hard, sending it flying towards Yanma. Staryu then glows purple, ready to use Confusion, but end up hurting itself.

Yanma - 20/46
Staryu - 34/47

Mist: Amazing work you two. Keep it going. We need to work a little more as a team. Yanma, use your eyes to avoid bide, but until the quick attack right into Meditite and send it into that crater. Then turn and help out staryu. Quick attack Machop AWAY from Staryu, and then Staryu can use a water gun guided by confusion for a powerful combo attack to damage Machop! Staryu, if Meditite comes out, and Yanma gives you the okay that there is no bide, water gun it. And recover whenever you see an opportunity.

Yanma speeds around, nearing maximum velocity, and crashes into Meditite with Quick Attack. Meditite slams into the ground, then quickly picks itself up and assumes a medititive stance, which Yanma recognizes and avoids like the plague. Machop, meanwhile, has been attacking Staryu ferociously. Staryu hits it with Water Gun before damaging itself once again with Confusion. Machop takes the opportunity to kick Staryu, sending it spinning. Yanma buzzes down and collides into Machop with a Quick Attack, but Machop simply grins and, amazingly, grabs one of Yanma's legs and headbutts it for twice the damage, knocking Yanma aside.

Mist: Okay, getting better. Yanma, take this Super Potion! Now keep doing your thing, watch out for bide and let Staryu know when it's safe to attack. For now use sonic boom on Machop to knock it over and then go back top focusing on hurting Meditite.

Staryu, while Yanma takes over for a minute use your water gun to propel to a safe place and use recover and harden at the same time. Then get in there and use confusion on Machop like there's no tomorrow. If you can, throw it into Meditite and knock them into that crater.

Alice!
July 24th, 2006, 05:29 PM
Yanma takes the Super Potion and then gets hit with Machop's fist in its face. Machop then lands and sprints over to Meditite, aware that its Bide is about to wear off. Machop kicks Meditite up into the air and then kicks it straight towards Staryu, who has just propelled itself away and is about to use Recovery. Medidite explodes in a furious display of raw power and pummels Staryu before it can heal, then grabs the star in it Confusion attack, slamming it into a wall. Yanma speeds in and slams Meditite in the back with Quick Attack, dealing enough damage to knock the pokemon out. Machop then jumps up and punch Yanma, sending it flying back and slightly damaging its wings. Staryu, barely able to move, manages to weakly hit Machop with Confusion.

Brawley: All right! This is a great battle! You've forced me to play my trump card...I choose you, Makuhita! (Level 21) Also, Machop, here's a nice Super Potion for you!

Mist: Awesome guys! Now, Staryu, you take a super potion too. We need to get going with your confusion attacks. They're super effective so we really need to get em hitting hard. Use your new attack, Camouflage, to hide along the walls, then sneak up and smack Makuhita and Machop together with confusion!

Yanma, use sonicboom over and over to trip them and bring on the pain. Remember to quick attack away whenever they try to get you!

Makuhita, upon leaving his ball, immediately starts flexing its muscles and breathing hard, bulking itself up. Staryu takes its Super Potion and Yanma begins using Sonic Boom. Machop jump away from Yanma and towards Staryu, but Stayu grabs it with Confusion, dealing a lot of damage. Makuhita stares hard at Yanma, then jumps forward to a seemingly random position with its arms held wide, and brings both of them down in a chopping motion the moment Yanma gets there. The attack works perfectly and hits Yanma in the wings, causing the dragonfly to slow down quite a bit. Makuhits then jumps towards Staryu, who throws Machop at it. Makuhita dodges expertly and Staryu quickly Camofluages itself. Makuhita stares intently at the wall Staryu dissapeared into....

Mist: Was that a fake out? No matter, Yanma get Speed Boost going again and keep usign Quick Attack. You need to get this battle rolling. Your dualtypes are resistant to fighting attacks, so you should be able to take some hits, but you need to him 'em hard too. Buzz around Makuhita and use your eyes to look for weak spots. Find them and Sonic Boom HARD!

Staryu, use confusion on Makuhita while Yanma takes a moment to get its speed going. Throw it into thr air and get it flying with watergun. Try to hammer Machop. Then instantly camoflauge and go after Machop with confusion!

Yanma flys around, but can't build up the same speed it used to have now that its wings are damaged. It still is able to speed towards Machop and hit it unexpectedly with Quick Attack, but Machop rolls with it and kicks Yanma in the back as it tries to get away quickly enough. Staryu, meanwhile is unable to use Confusion before Makuhita punches the ground hard, sending a crack rading up to, and connecting with, Staryu. Staryu takes damages and is forced off the wall, where it proceeds to nail Makuhita with Confusion and toss it away. Makuhita is able to punch away the Water Gun and it does very little damage. Makuhita then eyes up Yanma as it uses Sonicboom, and starts throwing rocks that got uprooted from his earlier attack. The assault nails Yanma, and it falls from the sky.

Try to confuse Makuhita with your copies, but really focus on nailing Machop. He's been in this battle for awhile, it's time to take him out.

Staryu, nice work, keep it up. Now that the ground is torn up there should be tons of dirt. Use water gun to blast mud into Machop's eyes, then pick it up with confusion and slam it into the ground over and over. If the mud doesn't work and he comes after you, camouflage and RUN!

Super Potion whore. :P

~~~
Machop runs and jumps at Yanma, but it splits into many images just before his attack connects. Yanma flys around quickly and hits Machop with a couple Sonic Booms. Makuhita grunts and stomps its legs on the floor, breathing hard and bulking itself up again. Staryu starts blasting Machop with Water gun, soaking and blinding it. Machop curls up and takes the abuse while Staryu nails it with Confusion. Makuhita, on the other hand, has been sizing up its opponents and suddenly strikes. With incredible precision it leaps up and grabs a hold of Staryu, crushing it between his powerful arms. Makuhita then kicks off of Staryu and chops Yanma with precision despite its Double Team attack. The illusion is broken and Makuhita immediately starts pitching stones at Yanma, who is hit and drops to the ground. During Makuhita's assault, Machop got a Potion from Brawley....
Yeah. But I'm really afraid of sending out a level 16 Oddish before KOing atleast one more pokemon..
Mist: Yanma, keep pumping out more and more double teams, and then keep causing problems with sonic boom. Since Staryu doesn't have ears, the sound should bother it, so get some REALLY loud ones going so that the other pokemon get bothered or even go deaf for awhile.
Staryu, demolish Machop with Confusion. Pin it down to the ground, and then unleash waterguns at its gut to knock the air out of it. Then camoflauge and hide if they attack you!
Yeah, I know. This Makuhita is totally a beast. Even worse than that Nosepass from your last battle.
~~~

Yanma flies around faster and faster, soon filling the air with images of itself. Machop jumps and dives out of the way of Staryu's Confusion attacks using its powerful legs and arms to jump around the lanscape. Suddenly, Yanma let's loose with Sonicboom, and Makuhita, Machop, and even Staryu go flying, slamming into the walls hard. Makuhita recovers first and, seeing an opportunity, punches the wall with its fist. Staryu and Machop each take a lot of damage from the attack. Machop, already tired from being in battle so long, faints. Staryu falls to the ground where Makuhita promptly jumps on it and chops it right in the jewel. The jewel flickers for a moment, then dies, indication Staryu has fainted.

Oddish starts opumping out Stun Spores at Makuhita. Makuhita stares down the massive cloud, then punches the ground, sending a crack rushing straight towards Oddish. The attack connects, even though Oddish was almost completely obscured by that point Makuhita then runs towards a wall, jumps up and kicks off, heading straight towards Yanma. Yanma gets hit dead on and tumbles down to the ground. Oddish, meanwhile, has snuck up behind Makuhita and pumps the toxins into the air. Strangely, Makuhita, instead of running, takes a deep breath, allowing himself to get poisoned.

Brawley: You're in for it now. Ya see, Makuhita has a very special ability. When he gets inflicted with a status condition, his power literally doubles!
