I had nothing better to do just now, so I added a "post new thread" button to the showthread pages.

Now you can start a new thread without having to back out to the actual forum, just like you could before the feature was removed in vB3 for some reason.

Nice and useful...

Are you ever going to add the signature guideline images to the signature preview too, or was that...shuffled away?

I was wondering what looked odd

Great idea, I've seen many a time guys in the Welcome Room and other new guys especially that gets confused by it, will save me about 10 seconds a post too :D

Yeah agreed. There's been a few occasion when I made a new thread as a quick reply. Good update :^:

I'm pretty sure Al turned them off as part of the "Do anything to save server strain" years.

Good to see. :)

Now me having the attention span of a fly won't cause me to forget stuff before I can back out and click the button! :link:

They were turned off at Michaelangelo's suggestion as people kept clicking the wrong one and posting new threads rather than posting a reply.

That may be, but it was removed from the actual vB3 software outright.

I guess I'll remove it from the bottom, so people don't accidentally hit reply, as you suggested.

Probably for the same reason :D

But yes, I think having the new thread not at the bottom would be best.

It's still convinient, though. I always missed that from the old forums. I still have a couple of GW pages saved from that time and they always bring a nostalgic kind of feeling whenever I look at them just by that one single detail. Come to think of it, I kinda missed the old vb2 boards. Although then again, remember the "You message has been successfully posted" screen?

EDIT: I kinda doubt people are hitting Post Reply much, now that we have Quick Reply...

Agreed, I haven't hit that in forever, I normally only will hit go advanced with a heavy coding-laced post to make sure it's all right.

there are actually at least a few people who do, because they have a smilie header/title in every post.

I think Tommy and The_virus are smart enough to post posts rather than threads.
