A horrible Nirvava cover. (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4670730062708691587&q=nirvana+cover) You might want to brace yourself before the chorus comes in. This is one of the worst I've ever heard. Post your comments.

...I was gonna say "well, at least he played the verse right!" in my typical sarcastic way but, let's face it, he didn't.

And that chorus was SOMETHING ELSE.

Isn't that an amazing solo!?! Who needs distortion!

Dear Lord, please help the poeple who were forced to listen to the whole thing in the audience. At least I could use the fast-forward button....The drummer was the only one who had a clue what he was doing.

Oh my god...what the hell was that?

That was the most horrbile cover of that song ever.

...holy sh*t.

I actually watched the whole thing this time (I stopped during the chorus on my first play), and I nearly pissed myself this time. That solo reminded me of the solo from Spinal Tap's "Gimme Some Money", and the fact that the kid on guitar suffered so many breakdowns (all on the post-chorus...hmm) made me cry.

The singer needs to be shot, too.

Yeah, he looked like Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater compared to the other two.

Well when you compare him to the other people, he's more like The Rev from A7X and Neil Peart put together during a huge drum solo.

No... Stop it you.... Just stop it you....

I got to the part were she had a second thought about throwing off her jacket then I just quit.

I shut it off 30 seconds in, because I couldn't take it. I didn't even make it to the vocals, but if they were on par with the guitar, and the chick's dancing, then I'm glad I didn't bother.

But in all respects, they were jsut kids. They probably weren't old enough to appreciate the song.

But that is an obnoxiously simple song! I could play it better on bass than any of those people could when I had played for less than a year. I would've said the same thing as you did if they were playing some thing like The Drapery Falls by Opeth, or Streams of Consciousness by Dream Theater, but they have no excuse.

Sh*t, even I could play that song better...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA oh my god, it's incredible how bad it is. They even got the two notes of the verse wrong!

I just got to the solo.. holy crap, I want to cry.

Why did they get so many cheers at the end? We'd have started throwing things at em.

They were probably cheering that the song was finally over.

What I don't understand is why the guitarist decided not to play the bass part on the guitar during the verse. Instead he opted to just play the normal notes which in turn probably caused the singer to end up singing way off key since she had no reference for her vocals (which she probably would have STILL sung off key, anyway).

Cluck
June 9th, 2006, 06:35 PM
It was probably better that she didn't have refrence, because i'm sure it would have been more prominant.

In fairness, they can't be any older than 13. Realistically, the audience should have been laughing and booing. I love all the breakdowns. I have terrible equipment and I can go a song without problems.

Still, that was pretty freaking hilarious.

He still f*cked it up pretty bad...That song is so simple to play on drums...

is this the one with the girl singer? and it was some student talent show? If thats the case...haha I couldnt listen to the whole thing because my mom made me turn it off it was so god awful...Im amazed how he can mess up the verse, not to mention the solo but on the plus side the drummers not too bad...I love the jacket throwing by the chick too ;) classic.

No, from the looks of it to me the drummer is just starting out. Like I said above, it's not hard to play that song on drums.

Holy crap. I could sing better, and I don't even know how to sing. I almost wet my pants because it was so funny. One question: Do they have something against Nirvana or does she think Kurt Cobain "had" a crappy voice? :goofy: :chuckle: :omg: :v: :rotfl:

I found a way of really enjoying the video...

1. Unplug your electric
2. Play the video
3. As you're being bombarded by badness (wow, alliteration!), play something on your guitar. I used G'n'R's Knockin' on Heaven's Door; just pick something that feels right.
4. Marvel at your own ability. Revel in it. Say something like 'this is it. I'm the greatest guitarist in the world.'
5. Enjoy.

I heard half the verse, skipped to the chorus, the closed the window due to ear pain. WOW. How can anyone take such a revolutionary song and turn it into....that. The drummer was ok at best; the guitarist played it wrong and even then made it sound horrible; the singer wasn't even a singer. She screamed out of tune, danced like there were bullets at her feet, and probably would have been shot if there was a murderous Nirvana fan in the room. I daren't listen to the solo, I don't plan to here that for a long time (apart from showing it to people and mocking the video with them.

I still don't get what people are making fun of. It sounds just like the original.

Except the singer was a girl, but I'm not even sure if that's that much of a difference.

They're little kids, you can't expect them to take an awful song and all of a sudden make it a masterpiece.

They did alright considering what they had to work with.

If Kurt Cobain is in heaven then Stalin is right up there with him having a chugging contest with Musolini and Heinrich Himmler.

Regardless, that cover was pretty bland and lame.

The only thing Kurt is praying for is more heroin.

These kids did an awful job at playing an awful song. Voila. End of story.

Captain Jack, I must disagree with you. The original was a violent, powerful reminder of Kurt Cobain's writing prowess and the band's pure rage. This was not a very good remake of it. The bass line was all messed up, and the lead singer was a CHICK!!! Sorry if I sound sexist, but the sound just does not capture the greatness of the original. Also, is that a juggalo in your sig?

SuperManIsMyDog
August 15th, 2006, 09:48 PM

It may be late in this topic but...God. I just had to quote this. If I was in the audience then you wouldnt have heard cheering. At least...you wouldnt have been able to hear it over the gun going off. I'd have shot myself. I couldnt take it. I may still shoot myself after that...:(

A younger me wouldve thought that was funny. I'm almost actually heartbroken :P
