I think I've realized something. Panther I'll take on your challenge. my time has recently been freed up abit. shall we endulge in a good ol' fashioned throw down of no doubt epic proportions? If so I think I'll begin. Let me know >:)
I ask because I seem to remember promising you a battle a long time ago, a battle that never did get started

I'll accept on the grounds that you remember that Panthy is a very busy kitty and may take a little while to toss a return post back at ya.

hey I'm a very busy dragon boy, I understand. I almost half expect it'll be more time between our posts than between you and our esteemed Diablos leader. does a 1-3-1 sound good? I don't want to go too many posts, I'm too rusty for a full out 1-5-1. at the same time I don't want this to be over too quickly. if 1-3-1 is acceptable then at the latest, 24 hours after I've seen your reply you'll have my intro post.

+sigh+
All outs equal 7 posts these days. Ouch.
Yeah, 1-3-1 sounds like a plan. So I'll be around whenever you get down with it.

=( All outs are only 1-5-1...I remember when we did 1-10-1, lol. That's how I got most of my kills. :chuckle: I think I'll check in on occasion to see how this goes. And wait...wtf is up with David's name? If that is the David that I remember...

Sunlight, normally a godsend to the sensable people, but the bane of many who dwell in the darness of night. Though not a creature of the darkness, the creature which perched itself atop a sheer face of a mesa looked out over the water starved desert which stretched for miles within this region. A region known for deadly natural distasters and some not so natural, though this thought wasn't on the forefront of the perched creatures mind. It was never an especially sensable creature, and though the sun bore it no ill, the creature still had the right to despise the light of day.
It could feel the coming storm. in the distance the rumble of a brewing system of low pressure currents mixing with higher pressure was quite evident. Within a vew short hours the valley below the perched one would be obscured by low hanging clouds, below that the rushing winds would blow up a storm of sand, a nearly impassable wall. It's beak clenched, rows of of razor sharp teath baring and grinding together as the owner of that forest of teath contemplated what was coming. It thought back over the obscure scripture it had come across in it's travels. And Behold in the land of the drifting earth--when the alignment of stars and time have reached their tenth rotation shall a mighty wall erect itself through nature's fury, and so shall two meet to decide a fate for which neither shall see. The creature's large beak opened and spilled out a plume of blue flames into the air followed by enraged screaching. Wings beat slowly but with tremendous power, rising the large shape of the blue humanoid dragon off of the high mesa.
It contemplated again, and again. and even once more after that. It was nonsense! Pure crockery! Even as it told himself this he knew that what he had read was a truth. one of the many Mysteries scattered throughout the world. Written by madmen, most mysteries were considered exactly that, nonsense. Some, however, were regarded with more delicacy. It knew. without doubt the Mystery was accurate. In a few short hours, the alignment of the stars would reach their tenth rotation, in that same time it measured the storm would be directly below and in full force.
With a sigh in it's heart it made it's descent into the valley which would soon be ravaged by the deadly storm to come. It circled slowly around the valley lowering itself finally on a large somewhat flattened boulder. the blue humanoid dragon glanced around, knowing that one would soon arrive that it would have to fight. He knew not who it would be, nor even if the one who arrived might be a past friend or ally. then with one last glance, with a general self assurance that there was no one around to see, it's body began to shimmer. Suddenly a silent explosion rocked out from it's body, a golden cloud surounding the creature, and slowly dissapating. within the cloud, the sillouette of a much smaller humanoid stood, however two great wings spread out from the humanoid's body.
As the golden dust finally settled into the ground and dissapated fully, the features of the man were apparant. Long rich brow hair, which flew wildly in the wind, crowned a face of compassion, though the eyes spoke libraries of a different man. Peircing eyes of a golden hey, narrowed and sharp, stared out among the sand and rocks, silently awaiting the mysterious combatant he knew he must surely face. As he waited, his mind went over the second half of the Mystery which he had read. And Behold, that in the time when the stars and time reach their tenth rotation shall the one whom this Mystery was meant for shall seak out the foretold place in the land of the drifting earth. and he shall moce with my blessing. But Behold, for the one he must face shall also have my blessing. For one must fail and one must prevail, lest time itself crumble. As he finished reading to himself the final peice of scripture he cursed under his breath, the words lost in the cacophany of rolling thunder closing in on the valley.
Finally he fealt the presence of another. He slowly slide his arms out of his open, black cloak, allowing the top half to fall down among his waist. Only the sash he always wore over the cloak kept the garment from fully coming off. He turned his now bare chest from the oncoming storm and faced the direction which he sensed the other lifeform. his baggy brown pants rippled in the wind and his black boots held the bottoms of his pants in place. His great wings folded in around himself as he awaited the emerging of his foretold foe.

sorry for any typos or generally misspelled words. I am really tired as I write this. once I press submit I'm going to bed. I'm not bothering with trying to fix typos and such. you SHOULD be able to tell what is meant. I'm not that bad. I certainly hope you enjoyed the story I put into it. I beleive all fights should begin with a good REASON for the battle to occur in the first place.

not really. I don't get inspiration to do big background plots like that often. but thankfully I think it should give me enough material to make an attempt at defeating Panther, I don't expect it to happen to be quite obvious, I know panther is better than me especially with my skills being so rust crusted
Slyner
August 13th, 2006, 03:32 PM
lol, I know what you mean by rust crusted, I haven't done an RPB since about...2004. And before I stopped, I racked up kills quickly, lol, thanks to about 5 or 6 clans I was in haha.
Nearly legendary? I'm surprised hardly anyone other than Panther, Lance, Xell, Funeral or whatever the hell he's called now (David) remember me. They were about the only guys I chilled with in clans that I can remember. No offense to those I forgot.

Xell and Funeral are the same person buddy ;)
you know Kris too, don't forget him. He's been around since the beginning.

lol, he's changed his damn name so many times I can't remember who the hell is who anymore. But yeah, Kris too, he's been around forever.
It's sad to say, but had I stayed around this entire past year and a half or so, I'm sure I'd have 5 digits of posts haha.
But yeah, I'm kinda glad I wasn't here for the downfall of all the great clans and such, granted some of them were trailing off when I left anyways, but I remember SeeD (Omega, that is) and Avalanche, and Final Fantasy True (which is still alive, but dying) were all powerhouses and had RPs and wars etc going on all the time. Things certainly have changed.
Do they usually pick up in activity during the school year or what?

umm....I dunno. C&C has been dying since '03. I never really noticed an increase of traffic in the school year, or vice versa.
