I think I may be developing perfect pitch, or at least near perfect pitch, because I've learned the intros to funky town and dueling banjos by ear, and some of good riddance by greenday by ear, but then again, all 3 are pretty easy to play. If no one knows, I play the guitar. If anyone can elaborate more on this for me, I'd appreciate it.

Learning a song by ear doesn't mean that you have perfect pitch. Perfect pitch is the ability to identify any musical note without any other tones to reference it. Learning a song by ear is just matching the sound of the recording to the sound on your instrument by means of trial and error. If you can identify notes correctly just by their sound alone, then you just might have perfect pitch.

That's exactly what I did. I heard it and knew exactly where on the fret board to place my fingers.

That would probably be taking a step towards Perfect Pitch. When you can play the whole song then you know you're rolling!

I learn all my songs by ear. I don't have perfect pitch, but I have an idea. I can ususally get chords right, but it takes me a second to get single notes.

and an idea is generally all you need, close enough to get it right the next few times round.
