- Welcome to New GWPS Participants - Have a Read! -
Here's what'cha gots to do! Whenever there is a game, one of our hosts (Coleman, Zell 17, or The Eye in the Sky!) will create a sticky topic at the top of this forum. The title of the post will include a date and time, this is the start time of the game. If you are interested in the game, post in the thread saying you'd like to play there. We do this in case we need to host more than one table, we can be prepared ahead of time.
Once gametime comes around, open up the PokerRoom program. Make sure you're selected on "Ring Games" in the upper right hand corner, and then click the "Private" tab, underneath that click the "Low" tab, and then look for the PokerRoom name of whichever host is hosting. (The names would be either iCole, Skyroller, or PresidentTom.) When you open up the table, send a message to the table host saying that you're from GameWinners and who you are. They will let you into the table. Grab whichever seat you like (as long as it's not reserved) and take a seat. Enter in 1000 dollars but DO NOT sit in. Once the the table is full, the host will confirm that all members are at the table by asking for each one specifically to give a "here". After all players are at the table, the host will go over the rules. Some, most or even all of you may be familiar with the rules, but this is a bit of a tradition for us, so just stay quiet, follow along and get ready for a game.
After the rules have been read, the sit-in process starts. The host will tell you to put your mouse on the "Sit-In" button. If the host is playing in that game, he will then sit-in. DO NOT follow after. Stay sitting out. Once the host is in, he will count back from 3, on either 1 or 0, depending on the host, click the Sit-In button and the game begins! As long as you pay attention to the table host, follow his instructions, the game will run smoothly and quickly. Enjoy, welcome to the series, and good luck!
If you have any questions, feel free to IM or PM one of the series hosts.
ASSORTED OTHER RULES AND SERIES DETAILS:
It has only just begun...
[MODIFIED] Once again this series will last 30 days. Registration opens May 1st, and closes May 15th at which time the tournament begins, The last day of the series will be June 14th. However, changing this series, we are going to allow EIGHT sit-ins. This will make it, on average, about two sit-ins per week, which, with three hosts running games at various time, should be more than enough to be played in full. You can use these as you see fit, strategically, numerically, however you like. The only rule, is that if you have not used TWO sit-ins in 15 days (or May 30th) you will be eliminated from the series.
The blinds go up, bets stay the same.
[NEW] The blind strucutre for GWPS Four has changed. To create more rapid games, with more action and more battling, we will play as follows. The games will start on the LOW level, with blinds at 5 and 10. In twenty minutes, the entire table moves up to the next level. Blinds at 12.50/25. Another 20 minutes and blinds move to 25/50. And finally after twenty minuets of that, they move to the high level at 50/100. Each blind raise will be held like the start of the new table, look to the game host for instructions. Before leaving the original table, the host will write down stack numbers. When you get to the new table, wait for the host to tell you exactly how much you have. And remember, every time you move up a level, take the EXACT same seat you were in before.
Chips are just a number until you have them all.
As in the last two series, the chip stacks at the final table will vary based on your points in teh rankings. The lowest point earner gets 2000 chips. Every point you have greater than the lowest point earner gives you an extra 500 chips. (EXAMPLE: The lowest point earner has 10 points, he starts with 2000 chips. If you have 13 points, you start with 3500.)
It's a final table, but it's not over yet...
The number of people that will get seats to the GWPS Four final table will vary based on the number of entrants to the series. If 30 people enter, Final Table will be top 5. 35 people, top 6. 40, the top 7 and so on. (NOTE: In the event that the series gets a large number of entrants but not many active players, we may lower the number of final table seats. Make sure your friends join and PLAY in the series.)
Wildcard, you make my heart sing.
Even though few disagreed with the policy, the Wildcard has not only returned but remained untouched. The highest ranked player on the Player of the Series standing, that has earned at least ONE GWPS table win, but has not qualified for the Final Table via GWPS points will receive the *WILDCARD* spot, and will get the final seat at the final table. If you need more explination, feel free to IM or PM one of the series hosts.
I would wait for you forever.
[MODIFIED] GWPS Four will have six reserved seats. Host Coleman reserves the man in the bottom right hand corner wearing a black suit. Host The Eye in the Sky reserves the blonde woman in the upper right hand corner. Host Zell 17 reserves the man wearing the blue track jacket. Assistant Alu reserves the black man in the upper row. GameWinners Poker Series III Champion Dean reserves the man in the cowboy hat. And GWPS Heads Up Tournament Champion JoetheShow also reserves the man in the upper row wearing the blue jacket. (Note: I know Brian and Joe reserved the same seats. All this means is that if Brian isn't there, Joe gets that seat. If Brian is there, Joe will choose another.) - If you're in a game where a person with a reserved seat is playing, leave that seat open.
You're gone, but not forgotten.
If someone at your table disconnects during the game and does not return by the next hand, pay attention to the table host. He will instruct you when to click the "Sit-Out" button. After all players have sat out, the disconnect period begins. If the disconnected player is gone for five consecutive minutes, he or she is eliminated from the game, and takes the place where they disconnected. Also, if you disconnect on three seperate occasions, you will be eliminated. This rule also applies to players who manually sit-out.
When you sit out or are disconnected, you must be BACK AT THE TABLE within five minutes. We've had some problems with this recently, so I'm clarifying here. In GWPS1 and 2 there was a more "case by case" basis scenario, which caused a tremendous amount of problems. GWPS3 saw this rules creation to cut out any possibility of bias.
Let me put it as simply as possible. If you are not back in the game, and confirm to the host that you are ready to go, you will be eliminated. At exactly the five minute mark, the remaining players will sit in and the game will continue. If you have not confirmed your reentry BEFORE THE PLAYERS HAVE SAT IN you are eliminated. Messaging us on MSN or AIM doesn't count. I'm on dialup and would be able to get back to the table within 5 minutes if I disconnected. Everyone else should be able to as well unless the problem is more serious, in which case you wouldn't be able to make it back no matter how much time you had.
If this seems unfair, or overly harsh, then I'm sorry. But this is the only way we can show no bias in regards to who gets in and out. This rule has to be kept to the strictest sense to avoid anything like that.
[i]You can see me, but I'm watching you.
You are more than welcome to watch games that are going on that you are not in. However, there are rules of ettiquette that you must adhere to. Firstly, do not take any seat at the table until the game has begun. Players get first choice at their seat, and you can sit after in the event there is room. There will also be no disruption of the game. This includes, but is not limited to, yelling for someone to go ALL-IN, to CALL, or to FOLD. Also do not make use of the "vote" button to vote members as abusive. If we find you disrupting a game, we will not only boot you from the table, but you will no longer be allowed to watch GWPS tables.
Good luck, ladies and gentlemen, and I'll see you at the final table!
