Nidoran hits Bellsprout, who slams into the ground, unconcious. Pokeball go! 1...2...3...all right! You gotta Bellsprout! When you go over to get your new pokemon you see some money lying about. Being the environmentally concious person you are, you decide to clean up the landscape by pocketing it.

Level up for Nidoran + Level 6 Female Bellsprout (Ability: Chlorophyll) + $200

You run off with a look of glee in your eye, ready to stomp the first guy you see. The first guy you see is easuly twice as big as you. As a matter of fact, they got near you by jumping off of a low level cliff, making the ground shake a little bit.

Mountaineer: Hey there shrimp! What brings you around these parts?

Me: Just lookin' some fresh meat to share a pokemon battle with, you up for one?

Mountaineer: Hey! I like your spirit kid. Just see if you can take me on. Go Geodude!

Well let's see how my good ol' new pokemon does(ol' new heh...). Go Bellsprout! You got the type advantage against Geodude. That kicks ass. So now go run behind that tree quickly and use Growth. Then step out and get ready to attack it with your vines. If it tries to tackle you, just side step and grab it's arms and use it's momentum to throw it into a tree!

[Alice!]

Mountaineer: *yawn* A grass-type. Lucky for you I've never had to face one of those before. Go Geodude! Show this punk that things aren't always so simple!

Geodude chases Bellsprout as it plants its roots and uses Growth. Geodude punches straight through the tree, dropping it on Bellsprout. Bellsprout rolls out of the way and uses Vine Whip. Geodude grabs the vines and sets its hands on fire, hurting Bellsprout and making it retract its vines.

[Gabby Jay]

Woohoo, this is gonna be fun. Alright Bellsprout. He's got fire punch, which will hurt you some good. So this is gonna take some strategy. Stand back from him and make him charge at you. But not to worry, he wont hit you if you are focused with your vines. When he starts charging, throw a vine right into his eyes to disorient him, then grab around his body and throw him. Then once he is away from you, use growth.

[Alice!]

Geodude grins and slams its fists together, shaking the ground and igniting its fists. Geodude lunges and Bellsprout unleashes a pinpoint precision stirike to Geodude face. The heat from its hands still wither the vine a little, and the attack barely misses its eye. Geodude grabs at the vines as they ensare him, and both pokemon take some damage. Bellsprout plants its roots.

[Gabby Jay]

Good Bellsprout! Now you got Growth going. When he charges at you again hit him in the eye, then continue whacking him away from you. Don't let him get close.

[Alice!]

Bellsprout lashes out at Geodude with precision attacks with its vines. The attacks hit until Geodude gets the timing and starts punching away the attacks. Bellsprout shudders from the pain, but stays rooted to the spot.

[Gabby Jay]

Good Bellsprout. Be sure to stay rooted! Keep him away from you! He charges, hit him in the eye. If that doesn't slow him down, throw him with your vines. Just be sure not to let him get close to you!

[Alice!]

Bellsprout can only fend off Geodude for a moment or so, before Geodude breaks through and hits Bellsprout with a full on Fire Punch. Bellsprout flies backwards, its roots snapping out of the ground, as it hits Geodude with one last Vine Whip. Both pokemon look weak.

[Gabby Jay]

Here Bellsprout. *Uses Potion* Have your vines ready. Keep most in front of you, but a couple to the side. If he charges, snap some at Geodude, but use the other ones to pull you to the side to avoid him.

[Alice!]

Geodude quickly eats a berry it was holding, and slams the ground with its fists, lighting them on fire before it starts spinning rapidly. Bellsprout lashes out, but Geodude soon reaches top speed, creating a ring of fire around itself ans it charges Bellsprout. Bellsprout pulls itself out of the way in the nick of time, and geodude spins off into the distance, but soon boomerangs and comes back towards Bellsprout.

Well this is something you don't see everyday, a flaming Geodude spinning wildly towards your Pokemon. Alright Bellsprout. Pull yourself out of the way to avoid it, don't let it hit you. It has to be getting dizzy. So just keep avoiding it until it stops, then hit it in the face with multiple vines!

[Alice!]

Geodude slams into Bellsprout, knocking it backwards as the fire dies down. Geodude grabs the ground to jerk itself to a stop as Bellsprout smacks Geodude with a massive Vine Whip, doing massuve damage.

Finish Geodude or be finished

Bellsprout you gotta make it faint! Reach back with all your power and skill and smack it with a Vine Whip! You can do it!

[Alice!]

Bellsprout hits Geodude with a powerful Vine Whip before Geodude can react, knocking it out. Suddenly, Bellsprout feels the effects of a burn delevered by one of Geodude's earlier attacks, and faints as well.

Hiker: Well, looks like we've got ourselves a draw. I like your style though. Here kid, something for your trouble.

Hmmm, I should probably train a little more before going on to Viridian City.

[Alice!]

You wander around in the general area of Viridian City. You see some trainers, and a small forest off the path.

A: Challenge a trainer
S: Pokemon in the woods!

[Gabby Jay]

(S) Let's see what there is! Yay!

[Alice!]

You wander into the woods a little bit, and soon spy an opportunity. THe bushes to the left of you are rustling, as are the trees above you.

A: Tree fight!
S: Bushes for me!
D: Get them both!

[Gabby Jay]

I feel lucky! D!!!

[Alice!]

You call out loudly, trying to get both of them to notice you. They notice all right. Two figures jump out at you, and you toss two pokeballs in reflex.

What pokemon did you throw?

Nidoran to the bushes on the left, Bagon to the right.

[Alice!]

Your Nidoran pops out and immediately clashes with a female Nidoran that jumped out at you. Bagon leaps up and intercepts the Hoothoot. The pokemon all land and assume battle stances.

[Gabby Jay]

Nidoran, give it a leer then tackle it!

Bagon! Run up and bite Hoothoot!

[Alice!]

Your Nidoran uses Leer as the enemy uses Growl, each of them being paralysed for a moment before attacking again. The two mirror each other's moves precisely, as their respective Peck and Scratch attack bounce off of each other. Bagon jumps towards Hoothoot and Bites it, dragging it down to the ground and slamming it through a bush. Hoothoot bounces up and Growls at Bagon before perching on a branch,

Nidoran, use Leer on Nidoran Female then on Hoothoot. Keep leering at Hoothoot to keep it at bay.

In the meantime Bagon, run over and Bite Nidoran female! Just bite it's leg then keep biting it and biting; pretty much chew on it!

[Alice!]

Nidoran (M) runs over to the Hoothoot and uses Leer in combination with physical maneuvering to keep it away from Bagon. Hoothoot looks at Nidoran funnily, then hits it with a Tackle attack while evading Nidoran's (M) retalitory Peck. Bagon jumps over to Bite Nidoran (F) and connects, but gets a mouth ful of spines and winds up poisoned.

D'oh! Bad choice on my part heh....

Nidoran! Go over and Tackle Nidoran F!

Bagon, focus. You can fight through the poison. Go over to Hoothoot and bite it's leg again!

[Alice!]

Nidoran (M) dives towards Nidoran (F) and tackles it into a bush with its Peck attack while it's busy with Bagon. Bagon coughs and stumbles towards Hoothoot, weakly Biting it before Hoothoot retaliates with a Tackle attack. The two Nidoran's come rolling out of the bushes, each scratched up quite a bit, each still ready to fight.

Nidoran, use a Leer, then use Focus Energy to get ready to Tackle that Female!

Bagon, here have this *Uses Antidote*. Now go in and Bite that Hoothoot!

[Alice!]

Nidoran (M) Leers to keep Nidoran (F) off guard. She staggers as Nidoran (M) uses Focus Energy, getting ready to attack. Nidoran (F) uses Scratch, hitting Nidoran (M) but not breaking its Focus. Bagon chugs the Antidote just before Hoothoot hits it with Tackle. Bagon grins, revigorated, and grabs Hoothoot's leg, slamming it into the ground before Biting it hard.

Alright Nidoran you got that chick on lock down now. Leer once again to get it scared, then go in for a tackle! Once your done with your first Tackle, circle around and go in for a couple more!

Bagon! Go in and wait for it to try to attack you. When it comes in for a tackle, avoid it's attack and bite it!

[Alice!]

Nidoran (M) Leers at Nidoran (F), startling her and letting him hit her in the gut for a critical hit. Nidoran (M) chases after and uses Peck to send her flying into a tree. She gets up weakly and Growls and Nidoran (M). Bagon continues to dominate Hoothoot, grabbing it, throwing it, and Biting it mercilessly. Hoothoot sudenly retaliates, hitting Bagon with a Tackle that knocks it backwards onto the two Nidoran's, poisoning Bagon.

[Gabby Jay]

Friggin Nidoran's always poisoning Bagon. Grr...

Nidoran! Leer at the female, then tackle her! Hurt her good so you can make her faint! We need her fainted ASAP!

Bagon! Now is the time to use Rage! Everytime you feel a little pain or sickness from the poison, use that to anger you! Let that anger build and use it on Hoothoot!

[Alice!]

Nidoran (M) Leers, Pecks, and knocks Nidoran (F) hard into a tree. She slumps to the ground, panting hard. Bagon uses Rage through its poison and slams into Hoothoot, sending it flying. Literally. Hoothoot flys up into a tree and perches while looking at Bagon curiously.

Finish Nidoran (F)

OOC: Is it a tackle from Nidoran (M) or a Peck?

Great Nidoran! Use Tackle again to finish it off, then go help Bagon out!

Bagon! Keep using that rage! Get ANGRY! Once that Hoothoot gets in range, I want you to smack the hell out of it!

A Peck, because Nidoran (M) doesn't know the move "Tackle". It would interpret Tackle as "slam your body into the opponent", which is in essence ehat it would do if it was using Peck.

Nidoran (M) jumps forward and tries to Tackle Nidoran (F), but misses, and Nidoran (F) Scratched him on the side. Bagon continues to wait, getting angrier every second, until it slams the tree with its head, scaring Hoothoot into taking flight. Hoothoot still maintains a dcent distance from Bagon, who is know stomping around violently.

Finish Nidoran (F)

Bagon! Come over here and unleash that anger on Nidoran Female! Finish her!

Nidoran! Leer at Hoothoot, then try to kick up some sand with your hind legs at it!

[Alice!]

Bagon jumps into the air and lands on Nidoran (F) pummeling her into the ground andcausing her to quickly faint. Bagon then gets up, the Rage gone, and promptly collapses due to exhaustion and poison. Nidoran (M) Leers and kicks up some sand, but Hoothoot flies out of the way quickly, rendering the sand harmless.

Level up for Bagon

Bagon return! Good job during the battle.

Nidoran wait for your shot. The second it gets into range, tackle Hoothoot!

Hoothoot looks at Nidoran expectantly, eyeing it up carefully. It swoopw down as Nidoran tries to use Peck, but Hoothoot easily dodges and Tackles Nidoran, knocking it back. Hoothoot then turns it head and stares at Nidoran again.

Hmmm...alright Nidoran. Use Focus Energy again to get pumped up, then start running around. Hoothoot will come down and try to tackle you hopefully...and when it does, TACKLE IT HARD!

Hoothoot swoops down slightly, giving Nidoran enough time that he smashes into the bird bringing them both to the ground.

Nidoran dives at Hoothoot with precision, injecting poison with its horn as it slams into the bird. Hoothoot falls to the ground cold. Slowly Nidoran (F) creeps away, lost forever in the wild.

You stop at the pond, and let all of your pokemon out of their balls to relax. Soon someone else happens upon you....

Old Man: Well, hello there sonny! I see you've found my secret grotto. I've been coming here every day for years.... Anyway, that's an impressive bunch of pokemon you've got there. Would you do me the honor of a battle?

[Gabby Jay]

Sure Old Man! Let's see here...may I choose which Pokemon to fight with after seeing your Pokemon?

[Alice!]

Old Man: Harumph, My name is Jerry. Please don't call me old man. Anyway, I've got three. I'll even let you choose which one you fight.

He hurls three pokeballs into the air, and when they land, a Spinarak, a Machop, and a Charmander materialize.

Sorry Jerry. I just always have called my dad "Old Man" and your about the same age as him. Hmmm how about my Nidoran fights your Machop. I want to get Nidoran up to level 12 before I fight Brock.

[Alice!]

Jerry: Sounds good to me. Spinarak, Charmander, stick around for this one. I want you guys to see what your good buddy Machop can do.

Nidoran uses Leer at the same time as Machop. Machop and Nidoran then use Focus Energy at the same time. Nidoran dives at Machop and connects with Leer, then Pecks it in the chest. Machop snickers and grabs Nidoran by the ears, tossing him into the air before jumping up and kicking him into a tree.

Whoa. This thing is a little strong heh...Alright Nidoran! Use Leer, then start kicking sand at it with your hind legs so it loses it's vision! Once your done, circle around and tackle it in the back! Then fall back and keep your distance.

Nidoran Leers again, dazing Machop long enough to let Nidoran hit it right between the eyes with some small rocks it dilodged from the gravelly field. Machop comes to and lunges at Machop, missing its first kick but connecting with the next in Nidoran's side. Some barbs come off of Nidoran and stick in Machop's foot; Machop winces and shakes its head.

Alright Nidoran, we can beat this guy! Run at Machop, Leer and Tackle, then keep your barbs pointed at it incase it tries to grab you!

Nidoran Leers Machop, freezing it as it Focuses its Energy, and Tackles it, stabbing his barbs deep into Machop's leg, poisoing it. Machop jumps up and kicks Nidoran in the head with its good leg, sending it flying a decent ways away.

Good Nidoran! Now keep your distance for awhile and let that poison set in, and if it tries to attack you, kick some sand up from the ground into its eyes, dodge the attack and tackle it!

[Alice!]

Nidoran hangs back as Machop continues to rush forward. Nidoran easily dodges Machop's weakened moves and rams his head into Machop's stomach, knocking the fighting pokemon over.

Yeah Nidoran! Now run right in, give it a Leer, then Tackle it!

Nidoran runs in after hitting Machop with Leer and lays down the law by crashing into Machop, knocking it out handily.

Jerry: Oh my...Machop, return. I must admit, I thought you were doomed when you elected to fight my strongest pokemon, but you sure proved me wrong. Here, you've earned this.

Level up for Nidoran + $150 + Moon Stone

Jerry: Take care now, and don;t you dare lose to anyone else.

I'm too lazy to make options. Watcha wanna do?

Hmm...now that I think about it, I havn't even gotten to Viridian City yet. So let's head there.

Well, you head there and arrive pretty quickly. Now what?

You heal. And then go to the gym. Tentatively trying the door, you are surprised to find it open. Inside is a thin layer of sand coating the entire floor with some rocks and other earthy things scattered around. There appears to be someone on the other side of the gym.

You walk carefully forward, and see that it's actually a young girl about your age.

Girl: Well now. Looks like I've got a challenger. I hope you put up for of a fight than that kid with the Tangela. So, you are challenging me, right?
