GWPS Heads-Up Tournament
ROUND 3

The first two rounds are over and we have it down to the final six of BTS, Tran, Joe. Shak, Brian, and Velocity. All of these players have shown how to win heads up and will prove to be tough in these bracket finals. Luckily, the losers get to play a 3-way table for the last seat in the Final Four.

BTS vs. Velocity
Tran vs. Brian (my pick for most exciting game)
Shak vs. Joe

Let's light this up. You guys know the rules (25/50 blinds, 1000 chips, Best of 3)

I'd like this round to be finished by Saturday, April 22nd. Only three games, I don't see a problem in people getting them done by then. I recommend playing as soon as possible, though.

I've got all three messengers, Sicky, and they're in my profile. I'm typically online about every night around 9:00-9:30.

I beat Brian, 2-0, both on suck-outs.

Sorry man, good game.

Yeah, you played well...but I want to detail the extent of these suck outs because I am very angry.

First game I had him down, he goes all-in preflop with K7, I have 88. He's DOMINATED but manages to win and now has more chips than me. Then I get AT, get raised all in, and lose to Q8 preflop. Ugly.

Second game I have A9, flop is AT4. I go all-in, winning would give me a dominant chip lead. He calls with QT, turn is a J, river is a K.

Hopefully I won't get assraped by the software in the 3-man game.

Not that this hand is any good either, but I had K8.

You didn't go all in, you bet half your chip stack after I checked. I seriously didn't think you would bet that much with top pair, so I reraised all in. Unfortunately, you did have the aces, but I got lucky to catch runner runner for the straight.

Not that this hand is any good either, but I had K8.88 VS K7 isn't a dominated hand. It's less of a race than if he had two overcards, but it's not DOMINATED. And if it was K8 VS 88, and he hits a K, you're nearly drawing dead.

So I was a 68% fave as opposed to a 70% fave, fine :P

Nooo, not that hand. I meant I had K8 instead of the Q8.

Velocity, I'll be on later at around the time you said you get on, so I'll IM you around then. Hope around 9 is good for you.

WLL

First two games I had him read on almost every hand. The first game I won when I had top pair and called his all in when he was drawing. The second game he had slightly more chips than me when I flopped two queens to give me trips. He bets and I call. The turn I bet out big and he raises me all in. I call and the river comes a 2 giving his pocket deuces a full house over my trips. That was the turning point right there. The third game was him dominating me the entire time. He was bluffing me oh so badly, including one hand that if I had called... it would have been over. Then when I called him thinking he was bluffing, he'd have pocket Aces. I couldn't catch a break.

You played damn fine, Velocity. Good games, all three of them. Plus that was the longest amount of time out of the three people I played against. Nicely done. And at least there's always the wildcard for me...

Holy crap, good 'effing game, Velocity. He is like the Patriots of 2001, against all odds winning.

I'm posting here now because my 'Net's dodgy after 11:30, but it was LWW for me, and it basically happened just like BTS said. I honestly felt that I got lucky to get that full house with the 2-Q in the second game.

Although I have to admit, the third game bluffing was both fun and nerve-wracking, especially when he took a long time to decide. :link: It was a great set of games.

Shak
April 22nd, 2006, 03:39 PM
Do you need to download?

ok, checked. Well, It'll take me about 90 minutes to download AP. I'm going to keep trying to get onto CnR, and hope to eventually get through. For now.

MSN if you're able to get on.

AP does not have private tables, we play at CnR for a reason, ladies.

Try PokerRoom.com

I always knew Joe was good. Tough break Shak.

Now, whenever you guys can schedule it, I need a three way game with the same rules (50 blinds, 1000 chips) for:

BTS, Shak, and Brian.

This is for the final seat in the Final Four. You guys lost but you still have a shot to get back into the tournament.

JoetheShow

Are these the seeds?

1. Tran
2. Me
3. Velocity
4. Wildcard

The Eye in the Sky!
April 23rd, 2006, 01:15 PM
Technically, it will follow the numbers still of

(1) Tran
(2) Joe
(7) Velocity
(W) Wildcard

but those are basically like a 1,2,3,4.
