Gecko: All right! I'm finally ready to start my pokemon adventure. C'mon Farfetch'd, let's go find us a trainer to take down.

RipTide

Gecko takes off out of his hometown and dares not to look back- he is ready to begin his journey. With Farfetch'd by his side, he can handle anything.

Gecko passes by a woodsy area and rustling can be heard coming from a bush. Gecko decides to sneak over and see what's happening. Standing feet away is a trainer collecting an impressive set of pokeballs.

Challenge the trainer?
or
Continue on down the path?

Alice!
April 18th, 2006, 11:48 PM
Gecko: Oh my. He certainly has quite a lot of pokemon. If I challenge him, he'll probably be able to pull of a type advantage. Mebbe I'll go find someone likely to be a bit more up to losing to a bird. Unless...of course....

Gecko makes his presence known to the trainer by intentionally tripping out of the bushes and landing on his face.

Gecko: Owww...*stands up* Oh, hi there!

RipTide

Trainer: Oh, are you okay?

Gecko: *cough* Yeah I'm fine... nice batch of pokeballs you got there. My name is Gecko.

Trainer: Thanks a lot ^___^ My name is Thorn.

Suddenly two other trainers appear from the woods

Thorn: These are my brother and sister, Pyra *he points to a young girl* and Tyde *he points to a calm looking boy.* We're on our pokemon journey, people know us as the Mono-Squad! I collect grass pokemon, Pyra collects fire, and Tyde collects water.

Gecko: ...wow. Cool! Nice to meet you.

Thorn: So uh... since you stumbled in my path. Want to fight? Go, Bellsprout! (Male- Level 7)

Alice!
April 20th, 2006, 01:21 AM
Gecko: Sure, why not? But before we go I should warn you. *readies pokeball* I've always dreamed of being a flying type trainer! Go Farfetch'd! Lead off with a Sand-Attack to disorient him, them fly through it and try to land a Peck!

RipTide
April 20th, 2006, 08:39 AM
Farfetch'd kicks up clouds of sand as Bellsprout readies an attack. The duck pokemon takes the opportunity to fly in with a peck attack but is met with a barrage of sharp, glowing leaves. Farfetch'd tumbles to the ground and is struck in the side with a vine whip that does minimal damage, but the strike still sends Farfetch'd flying back towards Gecko.

Thorn: I love egg moves... magical leaf sure does come in handy since it can't be evaded! Now show me what you got, bird trainer.

Alice!
April 21st, 2006, 01:16 PM
Gecko: Egg moves, eh? I hope you don't think you're the only one in this battle with a powerful egg move. Let's do it Farfetch'd! Crush that sprout between your Steel Wings! Make a Bellsprout sandwich.

RipTide
April 21st, 2006, 01:23 PM
Thorn: Bellsprout sandwich eh'? Bell! Show him how battling is done!

Bellsprout backs away and uses growth, its vines start to lengthen and bulk up. Meanwhile, Farfetch'd flies in with its wings glowing silver. Farfetch'd closes in on Bellsprout and prepares to crush the small plant, but Bellsprout wiggles its body to the side, dodging the bulk of the attack but is struck slightly on the side for minimal damage. As Farfetch'd whizzes by, Bellsprout grabs a hold of its foot with vinewhip and smashes the duck headfirst into the ground. Farfetch'd regains its footing, and is only a little shaken up. Both pokemon glare at eachother as the battle seems even.

Alice!
April 21st, 2006, 07:59 PM
Gecko: All right Farfetch'd keep your cool. It's effective at dodging, but it's essentially just a vine, so it should be weak to a well aimed attack. Use that stick of yours to cut it along its midsection, then flap your wings to back up and use Sand-Attack.

RipTide
April 21st, 2006, 08:22 PM
Bellsprout attempts to use growth once more, but this time it is cut off by Farfetch'd as the bird flies in and whacks Bellsprout with its leek for good damage. Bellsprout stutters backwards and is blasted with a veil of sandattack. As the cloud of dust subsides, Farfetch'd is surprised to find Bellsprout missing!! Moments later a barrage of magical leaves strike Farfetch'd from behind. Bellsprout wiggles and calls out its name triumphantly.

Thorn: Your Farfetch'd has strong attacks and is pretty darn quick. Luckily I've trained my grass pokemon to be able to deal with their weaknesses- like birds!

Pyra and Tyde cheer in the background

~~

Yeah, I changed the fire girls name. =P

Alice!
April 21st, 2006, 10:46 PM
Gecko: Very clever Thorn. Very clever indeed. Farfetch'd, forget the Sand-Attack's, you're going to have to keep a Keen Eye on Bellsprout. Don't let it out of your sights! Ready your leek, then jumps forward. If it uses Magical Leaf, use Steel Wing as a shield to get through, if it's Vine Whip, block them with your leek. In either event, hit Bellsprout with a Peck attack.

RipTide
April 22nd, 2006, 07:53 AM
Thorn is too busy listening to his siblings cheer to hear your attacks, and now his Bellsprout is paying the price. Bellsprout attempts to use magical leaf but Farfetch'd raises its wings and blocks the barrage as its wings glaze over wit steel.

Thorn: That's okay Bellsprout, vinewhip!

Now Bellsprout launches out two vines and prepares to bring Farfetch'd down. Farfethc'd keeps a close watch with Keen Eye and then swats them both away with its leek. Bellsprout is shocked to have both attacks blocked and wiggles around in frustration. Farfetch'd takes the opportunity to rush in with peck, striking dead on for serious damage. Farfetch'd tries to peck again but Bellsprout regains composure and strikes Farfetch'd in the beak with a powerful kick.

Alice!
April 22nd, 2006, 10:20 PM
Gecko: All right Farfetch'd! Now that you're in close, hit it with a Steel Wing across its middle, and use your other wing to fend off its attacks. You can do it!

RipTide

Bellsprout attempts to strike Farfetch'd in the face again, but Farfetch' able to block with its leek. Both pokemon are getting tire and glare at eachother once again. Farfetch'd cries out and dives in with a steel wing Bellsprout wiggles its body so that it can buffer the attack. The steel wing hits, but like Thorn was planning it does little to no damage. As Farfetch'd tries to gain energy after attacking Bellsprout, the grass pokemon grabs it by its beak wih vinewhip and throws it back toward Gecko for good damage.

Both pokemon are gasping for breath...

Gecko: All right Farfetch'd, let's take that thing out. Dive forward and use your speed to hit Bellsprout with Peck before it can get all dodgy. Remember to block its atatcks with Steel Wing.

Farfetch'd goes in with peck attack, doing maximum damage before Bellsprout can react. Bell gains composure and tries to latch its vinewhip attack around Farfetch'd's neck. Farfetch'd turns just in time and bats away the vine whip with its steel wing. The vinewhipe flies back and nails Bellsprout in the face.

Bellsprout is disoriented...

Alice!
April 26th, 2006, 10:26 PM
Gecko: Excellent Farfetch'd! Strike hard and quick, nail Bellsprout right on its bulb before it can regain its composure. Then hit it as far as you can with Steel Wing and fly after it.

RipTide
April 27th, 2006, 05:10 AM
Farfetch'd hits dead on with quick attack, spinning Bellsprout around like a ragdolll. Bellsprout attempts a vinewhip but Farfetch'd hits it with steel wing, sending it soaring through the air. Farfetch'd follows along with it...

Thorn: Bell!!!

Bellsprout lands with a thud, and can barely stand up.. FINISH BELLSPROUT

Alice!
April 28th, 2006, 09:22 AM
Gecko: Farfetch'd this is your chance! Hit it with the blunt side of your Steel Wing attack while it can't move. Power strike go!

RipTide
April 28th, 2006, 02:43 PM
Farfetch'd rushes in with steel wing attack but at the last second Bellsprout dodges. As Bellsprout rises back up Farfetch'd wobbles out of control from the missed Steelwing and ends up pecking Bellsprout square in the face! The attack is super effective and sends Bellsprout tumbling- finally Knocked out!

Level up for Farfetch'd!

Thorn: Wow... great match kid! Bellsprout did great considering the disadvantage it was at based on types. But hey, oh well. Here, you deserve this...

Flare: It was nice meeting you! Maybe we'll meet up again!

Tyde: Wicked battle.... Absolutely awesome.

*Tyde hands you something and $200 slips out of his pocket. He doesn't notice the money fall and waves goodbye. He and his siblings disappear into the woods.*

Miracle Seed and $200 Obtained!

Do what now?

Alice!

Gecko: Wow. That sure was a hard battle. Though what am I going to do with this Miracle Seed...I've got it! I'll just have to catch a grass pokemon for myself. Hey wait a moment...Tropius! Yes. From now on my goal will be to catch a Tropius! Time to go searching for pokemon!

Gecko takes off down the path and see's the glistening of water up ahead. He sees a beautiful but raging river growing closer as he keeps walking. From here it looks like something is moving on the riverbed... Something about it looks to be glowing...But wait! Something is making noise in the woods! It sounds big and is making quite a racket...

Go look at what is by the river?
Find out what's in the woods?
Ignore both and do something else?

Alice!
May 2nd, 2006, 10:08 PM
Gecko: Damn. Too much going on. Farfetch'd, go take a look at the glowing thingamabob and report back to me as soon as you know what it is. I'm gonna go see what all the ruckus is about. See you in a bit.

Farfetch'd: Fetch far. *salutes with stick*

RipTide
May 3rd, 2006, 05:17 AM
Farfetch'd takes off and goes to see what is moving along the river. You turn to see what' going on in the woods and suddenly you hear Farfetch'd squawking in pain! Something has a holf of your Farfetch'd! At the same moment, the animal in the woods appears. *Gasp* It's a Grovlye! -So much for being very large...- It looks at you awkwardly and waits for you to do something,

Go save Farfetch'd?
Befriend the Grovyle?

Alice!
May 4th, 2006, 12:15 AM
Gecko: Oy! Grovyle! Could you please help me out? My good friend Farfetch'd is in trouble, and I don't have any more pokemon that can help it. If you will, please follow me. *takes off running towards Farfetch'd*

RipTide
May 4th, 2006, 04:41 PM
Grovyle backs away suspiciously, but decides to approach you, knodding that it will help you as it senses your desperation.

You and Grovyle take off towards the river and find Farfetch'd wrapped up in the tentacles of a ZOMG SHINY TENTACOOL!1!!1001!!-01!!

You prepare to battle the tentacool and save your Farfetch'd...

~~~~
WHEN YOU REALIZE THE COMPETITION IS OVER! Yaaay. Thought I'd throw in a shiny to make you jealous that this was only a competition and not your real thing. :P
Awesome Linux, that was fun ^_^ Hope you enjoyed it. I tried to make it interesting with the "mono-squad". Bellsprout was fun =P
Flargh, you're so effing evil. Although I know you have a soft spot for Bellsprout, and to be honest, so do I. Bonus points for using one of my favorite pokemon. :^: I'll save the rest of my comments for the judging, you have 24 hours to post comments before I close this thread.
Woo hooooo!
Sorry for being evil O_o
You like Bell? That's cool. You know I love waters, but Bell's pretty sick too :P
Alice!
May 8th, 2006, 10:35 AM
Heh, yeah, I think I've used Bellsprouts against about four or five people now, and its still a fun one to RP.
The only reason I'm not using it in GLA : QoC is because Weepinbell works better in the environment I've created for Beso's gym.
*sigh* I still wish there were more Steel types though. I'd love to be able to work them into here more, but they're typically not feasable for the levels the majority of people are at.
<3 my steelix
He was pretty sweet to pull out against Roxanne :P Steels are cool, but I agree- their needs to be more. Water/steel would pwn ^___^ If you look at serebii's fake pokemon section there is a steel/water type thats a hammerhead shark, it looks cool... I wish it were really a pokemon but whatever... Fire/steel would be interesting too X_x OOH what about grass/steel =O
Alice!
May 8th, 2006, 08:28 PM
Hell, any kind of Steel would be...oh snap! Ghost/Steel. Preferably with Levitate to get those pesky Ground types to bugger off. I really want to see how they'd pull that off. I'd totally get one just on the basis that it exists.
Heh, this thread has, like, an hour left.
