I am beginning the newest Grim Reaper Tournament. Signups will be up to 16 people. I will be one of the refs and as such not participating. Signups are on first come, first serve basis.

I'd like to, but I think it would be in my best interest to not do a tournament right now...barely have time for my one fight with Panthy, if I joined a tourney I just wouldn't have the time.

No problem, everyone had to learn sometime.

Basically you write a creative prose introducing your character and the events leading up to the impending battle with my character. Then I would introduce my character in the same fashion. Then we would take turns typing out a battle between our characters, with each post picking up where the last one left off.

Then we kill each other (the second person's kill obviously picking up from their previous post, and not the one immediately before theirs, since in that post their character died).

For example a fight between you and I might go something like this:

Your Intro: "Stumpy walks onto battlefield"
My Intro: "HoT walks onto battlefield"
Your 1st Post: "Stumpy punches HoT"
My 1st Post: "Recovering from punch, HoT kicks stumpy"
Your Kill: "Stumpy leaps to his feet and crushes HoT's skull"
My Kill: "Following his kick, HoT stabs Stumpy repeatedly."

This would be called a "1-1-1" battle, meaning there is one intro, one battle post, one kill, from each person. Fights can be 1-3-1, 1-5-1, etc. If you want to be old school do a 1-8-1.

But obviously that is a dumbed down version of fighting. The winner is judged (by a referee) on creativity, so posting like I did above would be a complete joke in an actual RPB (role-play battle).

Val is doing fine, 3 months old now and has hit a decent stage of grabing at things(piticularly hair... I wear my hair tied back now except for when I sleep >.>) and kicking things

Rather, one random person gets a bye and there will be 4 matches. Then one random person gets a bye and there will be two matches. Then the person with the bye faces the winner of those two. It will be an incredibly short tournament.

EDIT: This place has one week left for signups and then I'm kicking this thing off. After that, contestants will have one week to check into their threads.

How does this Grim Reaper Tournament work? I'm just asking for a quick summary before deciding if I join in or not.

It's an rpb tournament. It's a like a normal 1v1 with random matchups, only if you win your match you advance to the next round. The overall winner is entitled the Grim Reaper, C&CW's highest honor.
