GWPS: Heads-Up Tournament Sign up Thread.

Welcome to the Gamewinners Poker Series: Heads-Up Tournament! I decided to host this heads-up tournament as I said I would try to run. It will not be affiliated with the Gamewinners Poker Series other than name only. You will not recieve POTY points or Hall of Fame recognition. This is just a little fun tournament during the down time of the GWPS.

A few things that I would like to say is that this will be similar to Fable's tournament but I will be forming rankings for players based on GWPS past play and my own, and my co-mod's if they so please, judgement. The players will be seeded accordingly and will play out a bracketed tournament game (#1 seed plays the #16, etc.). So the rankings will be realistic and fair, while also adding some fun to the game.

Players will play a best of 3 and the winner moves on. I will address the chip stacks, blinds, and other issues at a later time, though. Right now, I am just asking for whoever wants to play, this is open for all registrants, to post here saying that they would like to play and post your CnR names.

Yeah, I'm going to start at 24 so we don't have to wait forever for registrants. That would only leave a problem near the end when there are 3 people remaining. It can't be heads up when 3 people play!

I'll work it out, though.

We're not going to reach 32 players and I really don't want to wait for 24 so we are either going to go with 20 players by the time I close registration, or 18 which we have now.

I'm closing registration tonight to get this thing started.

Someone get canadaguy and someone else to register for this get to 20. I'd PM people but I'm extremely lazy.

Actually, in order to make the contest a little more fair, I need 24 players. Otherwise we'd have people making it to through rounds by passing through without playing. With 24 we would only do that before the final, which I have an idea of what to do. I'm going to PM some people from the GWPS to see if they want in.

24 players.

Round 1: 12 eliminated
Round 2: 6 eliminated
Round 3: 3 eliminated
Round 4: Person with the best overall record (and or highest seeded) moves on to final while the remaining two play.
Round 5: Final table.

Either that or we have a 3 player game to see who gets into the final two seats. I'll get input later.

EDIT :: I've sent out a PM to six of the players from the GWPS that I would like to be in it with us. Hopefully they will all play.

Me and Brian were talking about it, and when it gets down to final three, we think you (we) should go with a round robin. All three of the remaining guys all play eachother, 1 point if you win, 0 if you lose, two most points get to the finals.

Hmm... I'll talk to Cole about this. I have just started to get that problem, too. The Java version isn't working, either. I'm trying to log into Pokerroom now to see if that one works.

Edit :: Well, Pokerroom is fine. If worst comes to worst, we can always head over there.

I haven't had any trouble with CnR or Pokerroom. I'm not getting that busy message on any of my accounts, including those on the play and real money server. Maybe it's just up at times when there is the most traffic.

I'm not having problems signing in either.

However I have had the problem before. It clears up after a while. If not tonight, by tomorrow you should all be able to use CnR as usual.

It clears up after a while. I'm on right now. A good idea would be to try to get on a little bit before you're supposed to play, and just stay on.
