Lets see.
First Semester (Which is over in about a week or so.)
1st Period-Ancient World History (With a teacher who got arrested with a DUI (We can do just about anything in that class), which he still gets hell over. It happened in like August right before school started)
2nd Period-Construction Core. Learn about tools that a monkey could use. We don't really cut anything or do any real woodworking. We watch videos and take tests...
3rd Period-Wildlife Managment. Lots and lots of hunting stuff and boating safety and stuff like that. (Had I known that's what it was about, I wouldn't have taken it.)
4th Period-Agriscience. Farming science and we are talking about how to breed bulls. ( :( ) Had I known thats what it was about, I wouldn't have taken it either.
And I have no clue what I have next semester.
EDIT. I stole some money ($15) from a girl in my first period and am in ISS 3 days for it.... All the teacher said was "I can't believe you did that stupid sh*t."

American highschools confuse me. Some of your courses sound more like something you'd be doing at College/University rather than traditional maths and science subjects. And what's up with 9 periods in a day?

December 7th, 2008, 12:53 AM
1 - AP World History
2 - ROTC
3 - Pre-AP Chemistry
4 - Geometry
5 - Video Editing
6 - Web Design
7 - Pre-AP English 2
All my classes this year (Sophomore) are full year.
4th Period-Agriscience. Farming science and we are talking about how to breed bulls. ( :( ) Had I known thats what it was about, I wouldn't have taken it either.
I didn't know two males could make babies together.

Well, as far as I know, all schools required Math, Social Studies, Science, and English credits in order to graduate, but maybe not. Or maybe Austin goes to a special school. Some of our high schools offer college courses (AP) though, so, yeah. They are pretty confusing.

And apparently you do labs at the 15-100 recitations?Uhhhh. What? I can't see them having one-hour assignments there. Normally your homeworks labs are a week or two in duration and due whenevers. Maybe the recitation is just a specific time you can come to work on them and get help...even though that's what the course assistant's office hours are for.
And you really should have taken like 21-122 rather than half calculuses over two semesters. Who cares what your placement dictated.

Archaeology is one of my minors, as is Foreign Languages. My school just started this wacky Create-Your-Own-Major revolution, I'm hoping they will accept my request for Archaeological Photography to be an actual major, but until then I'm just taking both lines.

New College much?
Not quite sure what that means.
If you're talking about me, then the answer is ''3/8'' but if you're talking about the school, then 'relative to old schools." Let me check. It was established by the "Sisters of Loretto" in 1915 as a private, girls only university. Then it became independent and co-ed, I think officially turned non-denominational in the 80's when the church was turned into a movie theater. The Major creation thing just started this year.
Also, I just (as in just right now) happened to find out that:
Mickey Avalon went here (His music is obscene and scandalously catchy)
As well as the voice of ATHF's Master Shake (weird)
and the President of Indonesia.
What an odd assortment of alumni.

Create your own major? Sounds very South Harmon Institute of Technology-ish. You just can't create your own class.
The Rioteer
December 25th, 2008, 02:04 PM
But you can choose classes that are already in existence that suit your wants better than their designated courselines.
And you can create your own class, you just have to get any faculty member to agree to an independent study.
Sure, sure, you watch movies. Good to go.
And yes, the amount of hippies on the staff is sometimes overwhelming.

I wasn't joking. They shared a campus with USF from what a USF grad that teaches at my school said. It's top tier arts education, but students are completely free to do whatever.

Math 128 is Calc 2, been delaying taking that one until it fit in my schedule, I took Calc 1 in fall 2004, so fun times.

Res-Econ-262 is environmental economy
finishing up my Major in Earth Systems this semester and these are the last three classes I need.
