i gotta get me a new guitar because my current one just doesnt cut it. i play metal ala (CoB) and hardcore (ala Norma Jean) kind of things but i don't tune down to anything lower than drop D step down.

i've been looking at the ESP-LTD Viper 400 and the Eclipse 400 for their EMG's but if anybody can reccommend me anything in a similar price range (anything less than 700) then it would be greatly appreciated.

thanks.

I would suggest you check out the Shecher line of guitars. They have a really great all-around sound (a la Paul Reed Smith), but I bought my Shechter C/SH-1 for $600, and I never regretted it. The thing is amazing.

For more help, you may wanna drop by the Musicians' Section (http://forums.gamewinners.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=208) of GameWinners.

It really depends on your price range. But by far the best guitar with emg's in it is the Epiphone Zakk Wylde guitar. Its about 600-700.

Probably too late to say this, but when buying in shop get a feel for the guitar (you prob already know this, but it's worth mentioning), play it in the shop and see how the neck feels, the weight of it etc.

CHECK EBAY!

but as for brands, i'm a fan of ibanez for metal type of things. the rg350dx can be found online (from stores) for 400 or less, if you want to save some money and get some pickups and whatever else.

you can find RG 470s for under 200 on ebay, 570s for probably less than 300.

i like the floyd rose tremelos. the RG series tends to have 2 humbucking pickups and one single. they have wide necks, and my only complaint with my 470 is that the frets get a little close together in the upper range (like 19-24). oh yeah, they have 24 easy to reach frets too.

when i was asking around before i bought mine (with metal in mind), every good player i talked to suggested ibanez, and i ended up finding mine for 120 bucks (yeah, that's like 400 bucks off), so i had money to upgrade whatever i wanted. the pickups aren't terrific, but i like the locking tremolo.

go to a guitar store and look around though.
