I lost my watch and I don't trust what the computer says.
No seriously, if anyone feels like a meaningless five poster, then by all means. Drop me a message and let's have a go.
If you reply on here and I don't respond in a day or two acknowledging your presense, then send me a piece of mail to panther1024@hotmail.com
GW isn't the best about sending me reminders when someone posts.

Okay...so to be honest I don't know why I'm doing this to myself, considering that in my prime I could never have beaten you, but I'll accept your challenge.
But I feel that you deserve the honorable death that I will give you. You'll just have to be a little patient, and I'll do the same. We both lead busy lives, Pops.
You first.

Crow... You're on. Lance, couldn't wait for tomorrow. So I finished it tonight. Enjoy bro ^_^
Yeah, double post. Got excited and forgot to paste in the post. Sue me :p
The winds blew softly across the open plain as Apollo spurn his chariot across the stratosphere. The warmth from its blazing fires sending a basking warmth to encompass all things upon the face of the earth. Cath held his hands aloft just above the slow undulation of the tall grasses that he stood amidst. Allowing his eyes to wander as freely as he did his mind, he took in his surroundings with many slow, deep breaths. From where he stood, he sensed two field mice scurrying about with one another as they fought for a scrap of food, a number of intertwined anthills, and a plethora of other small lives. It brought a sense of glee to Cath as he sensed the essence of life surrounding him. Possibly due to it being the opposite end of the spectrum of which he dwelt, possibly it was simply his unbelievable connectedness with nature itself. It didn’t matter to Cath, he was happy for the moment, and for him that was enough.
Yet though he relished his current tranquility, he was sure to not forget his role in the world. He was a killer, a General in the world’s greatest army, bowing only two other men. Yet both had waxed to their greatest point of life and had steadily waned since. The recent cease of battle plans to the troops had shown this as evidence if nothing else. There were still native lands to be conquered. The troops had their rest and then some already. Yet there were still orders from above that no movement was to be made. Cath grabbed a handful of the swaying grass at the thought and ripped it from the ground. If this inactivity were to continue, there was sure to be uprising from the less conforming sects that he had drove his men to bloodshed for. No! Cath vowed silently to himself then and there that he and his men had not toiled in vain. He could overthrow him. Challenge his leadership and take it for his own. It seemed to be the only way that it could be done. Cath slipped his hands down his sides and rested his palms upon the pommels of Auclair and Antioch. Their energies pulsed beneath his palms in anticipation of the coming battle. It seemed a bit ironic that the blades that he bestowed were gifts to him from the Diablo King, and that he sought to use such gifts to bring the demise of the demon himself.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Caius continued the gradual ascent, up the hills leading towards the Tatsu Mountains. He was no fool; he knew Cath’s intentions, and Cath knew that he knew. Yet Caius had still been taken aback by the casualness with which Cath requested this “meeting”. He had known this day was coming, had been expecting it for years now. He brushed aside a tree branch, moving silently despite the armor he wore. Ah…the armor. Cath would appreciate that gesture, at least. It was the armor Caius had worn in their first battle together, the volcanic red glass glinting as it had on that eve so long ago. Still with the dents and scratches of weapons long since rusted.
Caius didn’t resent what was happening. Not for a second. But if only Cath knew the truth, knew why the Diablo King hushed his army’s cry for battle, why the Diablo King had not touched a weapon in two years, and why the most powerful man in the world’s sleep these past years had been so troubled. But to tell anyone, even his most trusted confidantes, would be his undoing. He would die with that secret. And if that happened today, he would welcome it.
The Mazoku Priest had dined with Caius the night before, for the first time in months. The priest knew, but said nothing of the worlds that would topple the next day. He had been cold and indifferent as always. Caius cursed the priest’s constant indifference, and chuckled to himself. How much longer until the Priest had challenged him? It was of no matter, Cath had broken first.
Cath had a following, all of the Battlemages did. He could have left the Palace, and many Diablos would have accompanied him. He could have turned this into a civil war the likes of which the world had never seen. But Cath wanted the Diablos intact. When Caius was dead he would take the Diablo Signet Ring from his finger, and the Diablos would follow him as loyally as they had followed Caius. Caius wasn’t sure which outcome would better suite the Diablos, but Caius had resigned himself to his fate. He would fight with all the skill he had, and whichever of them fell…
He reached the large plain at the base of the mountains, where he and his Battlemages had met in the early days of the Diablo Empire, before the majestic fortress behind him had been erected, when their empire consisted of just a few dozen tents. He stepped into the clearing, and across from him, a panther, its coat as black as the stone of the Diablo Tower. Its ears perked up at Caius’ arrival, and the feline quickly stood upright and became human. The two warriors walked towards the center of the plain, stopping several meters apart. No words were exchanged, none were needed. Back at the Diablo Palace, the Mazoku Priest paced the halls of the Tower, wringing his hands.
Caius raised his hand and rested it on the handle of his blade. This katana had no enchantments, and therefore bore no name, but it had served the King well for years, and like his General, the blade thirsted for blood.
Hazok... David is indeed all of those. But that's because he's old school. Everyone from "the day" had to be in all aspects. So let's play nice kiddies.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The two warriors eyed each other cooly. Each sending their own message to the other plainly through their demeanor. They both knew why the summons had been sent, and Cath hadn’t been surprised in the least when Caius had answered. He knew the old man better than anyone else on the face of the Earth, save for possibly the priest. Each man stood facing the other amongst the high grass and fidgeted discreetly at the hilt of their blades. Each innately watched for the slightest of movement from the other. Cath noticed the armor that Caius had chosen for the event and allowed himself the slightest of grins. It seemed fitting that he take his final resting in the garb of their first clash. Although he seemed a bit underdressed in comparison. He stood only in his everyday billowing black Arabian pants that were held taught at the waist by a ruby studded belt. His various tribal tattoos covering the majority of his upper body from his recent training on the distant isles of Karantu.
It was Cath that broke the stalemate. With his usual catlike speed, he covered the two paces and leapt forward with a basic front kick. Caius easily read the move and grasped Cath at the ankle and knee, with exacting precision pivoted a hundred and eighty degrees, and hurled him into the earth beyond. Cath kicked his legs upwards as his shoulders connected with ground, rolling backwards, and hand springing back up to his feet. As the horizon sped back into view, it lacked Caius’ form. Yet the Diablo Lord was soon found as his knee met his general’s lower ribs. A hard breath was forced from Cath’s clenched teeth. Reaching down, he grasped the armor plating imbedded in his flank in which to pull himself towards Caius with a straight right punch to the king’s cheek. As Cath landed, both warriors struck out with front kicks, and each met their target. Cath and Caius each tumbled backwards until finding their feet a number of paces apart. Both of them snapped to face the other and each wore the face that one finds when in the delight of battle. Cath took a few deep breaths in order to recover from the blow to his side.
Cath took the few moments to reflect upon the fighting style of Caius. Not much had changed since he’d last seen the old man in battle. Same style, same confidence, same power. He’d expect no less from the man that he’d entrusted his life so often. But his favor for the Diablos as a whole far exceeded the love that he carried for his brethren. And the fire that burned within Cath’s being burned all the more hotly at the thought.
Cath flurried at his opponent with a plethora of short quick blows. Jabs mostly, a few knees and elbows here and there. Many were parried yet enough had found their mark to bring blood to the lip of Caius. With a quick taste, he spat the blood to his side and looked back at Cath before launching a barrage of his own. Bobbing and weaving, Cath ducked and dodged swing after swing from the Diablo Lord. Though had been one thing that hadn’t changed about Caius, it was his speed. And it had been further hindered by his quaint choice of armor. Caius lashed out with a full force right straight-arm. Cath leaned back in time to feel the wind from the swing rush past his face. Flipping backwards, he extended a leg and caught Caius squarely beneath the jaw. The dazed Caius wobbled for a moment, yet it was time enough for Cath to swing his body around and sweep the legs from beneath his opponent. Leaping to his feet, Cath raised his leg vertical with his body and aimed to drive his heel down upon the throat of the writhing king...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Disoriented, Caius spun through the air before landing hard on his back, forcing what little breathe had from his lungs. Had he been fighting anyone else, he may never have seen the next attack coming. Had he been fighting anyone but Cath, the kick might have found its target and the fight would shortly be lost. But it was Cath. It was his brother. And if there was one thing that Caius knew, it was to not underestimate him. He still wasn’t really sure where he was, but he knew that a heel kick was coming. And he knew he had to block it. Cath had a heel kick that could split a tree trunk, and Caius had no great desire to see its effect on his neck. Caius crossed both arms in front of his body and tucked his chin. The heel collided with his right bracer, sending a small crack down its surface. Caius didn’t allow himself time to be impressed. From his place on the ground he shot his foot out, connecting with Cath’s knee, and with no hesitation moving from there to his groin. It wasn’t the power hit that Caius was hoping for, but it connected, and he would take what he could get.
Now it was his turn. Caius rose to his feet quickly and concentrated all his power into one kick, looking to crush the ribs of the stunned Cath. Cath saw the move in time, and leaned into the kick, absorbing the power with his chest and arms. The kick was so powerful that Cath was knocked through the air several meters, spinning all the while. He shapeshifted in midair, meeting the ground silently on all four padded paws. Cath refused to allow Caius even a moments rest, and leapt back at him with teeth gleaming. Caius rushed forward to meet the feline, grabbing the warrior around his neck and drawing him close to avoid he razor sharp claws. Caius nearly buried his face in the black fur of Cath’s body, hearing the horrible noise his opponent’s claws were making on the back of his armor. From this position, Caius threw a hard elbow to Cath’s ribs, then pushed away from him and delivered a swift kick to the cat’s side. The feline, though agile, had difficulties blocking, and the kick met its mark.
When Cath touched the ground this time it was with two feet. He hid it well, but Caius could tell he was in pain. Good, because so was the Diablo Lord. Caius had sparred Cath enough for two lifetimes, and they both knew that Cath was superior. Caius could occasionally best him, but usually Cath’s speed would eventually overwhelm Caius. But Caius had not come here to spar. And neither had Cath. Don’t misunderstand, Caius loved the feeling of one of his punches connecting, and even the feeling of being punched. He reveled in it. But Caius’ passion was swordfighting, and he and Cath both knew that that was where this battle was heading. There was truly nothing greater in the world than an epic swordfight, one that people would tell stories about for generations.
Regardless of the outcome, the story of this day was destined to be retold a hundred times by the victor, each time feeling that something had been lost in translation, that there was no way to accurately describe how perfect it had been.
Caius’ philosophical train of thought was ended by the sound of a sword being unsheathed. He set his teeth and looked forwards, watching the sun glint off of Auclair’s blade. Antioch soon joined its brother. Caius raised his hand and unsheathed his blade. Words of wisdom and prayer written in Diablo Battle Speech adorned the blade and hilt.
This time Caius broke the silence, rushing at Cath with a quick horizontal slash. The battle had begun.
Don't feel bad Lancey. This one didn't strike me as my best either.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cath stood silently eyeing the glints and gleams of Caius’ armor. In his hands, his two blades shifted in slight circles as he interpreted the body language of his elder. Their slight weight tugging lightly against his fingers. Each with their own unique glimmer in the midday sun. Antioch pulsed with a frigid light of cobalt, whereas Auclair emitted a pulse of ruby light not so unlike that of the armor adjacent to Cath. It was only through Caius that the blades held such an individuality. It was he that had traveled to visit with shamans of the far southern lands. Each had been a gift for separate times that Cath had saved his life. And he intended to end it with one or the other.
Cath watched the rush. The grasses being crushed to the ground with each swift step. Finally the calculated horizontal slash meant to half the shape shifter. Read easily enough, Cath swept his blades to his left and caught the attack. Cath kicked a bit of a smirk towards Caius as he swept all three blades in a high arc over their heads, driving the tip of his foes blade into the trampled dirt at their feet. With a quick contraction of his abdomen, Cath drove himself shoulder to shoulder with Caius, knocking the elder a long pace backwards. With the new given space, Cath lashed out with a high left sweep with Antioch followed directly by a vertical swing with Auclair. Caius stooped low to avoid the first, and slid his blade even with his knees blocking the second with a small show of sparks. Locking his wrist, Cath pressed all the harder with the locked blade, driving himself toward Caius. When at range, Cath brought the hilt of Antioch crashing into the helmed head of his opponent followed by a crushing knee strike to Caius’ jaw. Cath palmed the top of the Diablo Lord’s helm for stability before leaping over his blade and slamming both feet into the armored chest. Cath back-flipped and landed in place in time to watch Caius take his final tumble before digging his fingers into the ground spring back to his toes.
Caius automatically placed his blade in front of himself to guard an ensuing attack, yet none followed. Cath had held his distance once he viewed what Caius had slowly became aware of. Through the waving grasses of the field the occasional flash of light could be seen. Caius pressed his hand to his chest and felt the spiderweb of cracking in his breastplate streaming from the epicenter where there had been small fragments had dislodged and fell to the earth. It was these pieces that glinted as the occasional ray of light managed its way through the tangled mess of high grass. Yet the surprise hadn’t been confined to Caius alone. Cath too was dumbstruck as to the power of his blow.
Cath leapt forward, swords held out and slightly behind, a small cry slipped from behind clenched teeth. Cath swung both blades to his right as he ran. Cath heaved his left arm in a diagonal from high right to low left. Caius swung his blade in a short arc to deflect the attack to the side. Diversion set, Cath aimed to drive Auclair through the breach in Caius’ armor...

My apologies for the delay.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Disoriented, Caius spun through the air before landing hard on his back, forcing Caius arched his back and rotated his sword until the tip faced downward. He swung his blade in a wild arc, narrowly parrying the attack Cath had prepared for him. His back now nearly parallel with the ground, Caius attempted a backflip to right himself. The result was somewhat awkward, but it was that awkwardness that sent Cath’s next slice whistling through the air. When it was all said and done, Caius and Cath stood several paces from one another, each of the warrior’s prides trying to hide their heavy breathing. The silence was broken, not by either fighter, but by yet another piece of Caius’ armor striking the ground. Caius rolled his eyes and Cath allowed a small grin, one that was quickly replaced by puzzlement when Caius drove his free hand into his chest with such force that sent shards of his cuirass flying all about. The shards disintegrated before they even hit the ground, a fine dust left floating in the air. This dust, borne by some nonexistent wind circled Caius’ body. The rest of Caius’ armor appeared to melt from his body, it to turning to dust and joining the tornado that had formed around Caius. The dust settled back onto his body. At least that was the best way to describe it. Before Cath could tell how it had happened, the dust had become robes similar to those worn by Caius daily on the training grounds. Cath’s face no longer showed confusion, for he had witnessed Caius’ tricks innumerable times before. Cath allowed him his indulgence in show. Caius could have done all of this in an instant, though he liked to make a ceremony of it. His skill in conjuration was one that Caius had been unable to successfully teach any of his followers. Caius held his blade upright, and it too melted, down the handle and over his hand, dripping towards the earth below. It found the form of a double bladed sword, and it fixed itself there. Caius twirled it through his hand and around his back, getting the feel and balance for his new weapon. But Cath new all of Caius’ tricks. Cath knew that when you entered a fight with Caius, you had to be ready for anything. It was one of the things that made Caius such a formidable opponent. Surely his skill with the blade was impressive, but it was Caius’ cunning, his ability to improvise, that had turned defeat into victory time and time again.
Caius set on a path that brought him to his opponent in three quick hops. He threw a series of attacks faster and harder than he supposed possible. All were blocked by Cath, who seemed equally impressed at his ability to parry them. For it was in this fight, and this fight only, that each fighter was truly being pushed to their limits, discovering powers then never knew they possessed. Caius pressed his attack, his arms seeming to move quicker than his thought. Cath methodically met each of them with his own blade, though they were so fast that Cath had no time to even think of forming his own offensive. Caius delivered a brutal kick to the outside of Cath’s leg, sending Cath wobbling backwards until Caius’ next blow unbalanced him. Cath stretched out his arm until his fingertips came into contact with the earth below, finding some shred of stability. Cath was aware that his backside was now open, and with a grimace threw his injured leg out behind him, hoping for a sweep.
Cath spun his body semi-circle, yet his sweep found nothing but the trampled grasses about him. As Cath’s heel touched the ground after completing the movement, he found himself being hurtled backwards across the field. An ache pulsing throughout his chest, emanating from a clearly visible footprint in his center mass. Corkscrewing through the air, Cath’s shoulder connected solidly with the ground allowing him to awkwardly cartwheel to a kneeling position. Looking up, Cath watched as Caius descended from the sky, foot outstretched, aiming to drive Cath as deeply into the earth as possible. As Caius’ toe made its first contact with Cath’s chest, the shape shifter locked one hand to Caius’ ankle and the other to his knee. Falling back with Caius’ motion, Cath snapped his body around, slamming his senior to the ground in his stead. Small tufts of dust billowed from beneath Caius’ back as Cath employed a front hand spring. Rotating in the air, Cath pulled his body into a jackknife position before releasing his hold and spinning full circle to gain further momentum. In the next instant Cath found his fist buried not in Caius’ chest but the soil of which he had just lain. A glimmer of movement from his peripheral vision caught Cath’s attention. Dropping himself to ground, the slight breeze of a blade could be felt as it just scraped the back of his scalp. Cath clenched his imbedded fist and roll toward the epicenter of the blades arc. Pulling his arm across his body, Cath snapped his hand open, releasing the loose soil held within. A thick cloud of dust and dirt flew upward into the face of Caius. Shifting on his back, Cath kicked off the ground into a backwards somersault and with his hands bracing himself, lifted Caius off the ground as he slammed both feet into the elder’s abdomen.
Each gained their feet and faced one another, their mud streaked faces burning in the heat of the day. Sweat trickled down the necks of the two warriors each breathing deeply yet still all the while vainly trying to hide it from the other. Cath tightened his grip on each hilt of his blades feeling the somewhat softened leather beneath his eager fingers. Steeling his resolve, Cath dashed forward and rained down upon Caius a series of blows that would have no doubt shredded any average opponent. Yet when the sparks flitted to ground and the two warriors had leapt apart once more, Cath had nothing to show for his barrage in exception for a puncture wound in Caius’ left shoulder and a gash in his own hip. The bite of cold steel shocked the warriors, for neither had felt its embrace in years upon years. Each stood nursing their newly gained injury, moving and testing how it limited their movement if at all. Neither seemed phased too greatly, the massive amounts of adrenaline that courses to every fiber of the body in a situation such as this had seen to that. Cath took a single step forward and took a mighty leap into the air, crossing his arms, as he descended upon Caius he swung his arms outward hoping to snap Caius’ blade, severe his head, or both. Yet the Diablo tempered steel held firm and the attack produced nothing but a shower of energetic sparks that danced about their faces and lighting their eyes to the joy of battle. Although Caius had managed to cease the attack itself, he had not been able to withstand the momentum of the larger combatant slamming against him from above. The two slammed into the earth, Cath remaining atop with his weight bearing down upon his blades. Cath locked his blades in place against Caius’ and then became dead weight as he literally lay atop his blades, forcing Caius to fend of both the attacking knees to his ribs and the heavily laden blades bearing down upon his neck. Cath found a small bit of internal glee as he watched the strain upon Caius’ face. Everything from the veins seemingly wishing to explode from his neck and forehead to the ever increasing amount of sweat collecting at his brow. Cath looked down in a grin of sorts and muttered softly, “Sleep well brother...” as he clenched his teeth tightly and bore down on the blades with all of his strength.
So yeah...some **** came up in my life, but hopefully I'll get it all sorted out. A quick glance in the relationship forum will explain more, but for now just be patient, I'll try to get something up this weekend.
Well at least you called ^_^
Not that I remember or understood most of what you said >.<
All I remember was "Friend at ETSU" and "Definately meet up"
The rest is a complete blank. So message me or call again when we each have more time to discuss the situation ;)
from what I see, Lance has been to busy to do much more than random posts. he doesn't seem to have the time to RPB. and then there is the fact that Panther doesn't seem to have much time either and even if he did, it's not his turn to post in the RPB anyways. I think that about sums it up. this is mostly a big waiting game, waiting to have the time to RPB mmhmm I think that's about right.
*yawns* Silly Diablos... fighting amongst yourselves when you've nothing better to do.
Provided the internet doesn't keep failing out here at school, I do plan to spar a little more often. Maybe even see if I can get my kill count above 200...
