View Full Version : Official Blind Raising System - A Must Read

Ok. We finally developed a system for the raising of blinds. Mainly to be used in the case of long games.

After one hour of continuous game play, everyone will move up to a higher level.

(We start with blinds of 12.50 and 25, after one hour they go up to 25/50.)

After that hour, one of two things can happen.

If there are SIX or more people remaining, we wait one hour to move up again.

(Meaning that after another hour, we move from 25/50 up to 50/100.)

If there are LESS than six people remaining, we will move up in time based on how many people remain. 10 minutes for every person.

(So if 3 people are left, the blinds will go from 25/50 to 50/100 in HALF an hour.)

50/100 is the highest level of blinds they have for the ring games, so that will have to be where it ends regardless of how many people are there.

Also, for right now this is a test. We may choose later to move the whole system down by one. Meaning we'd start with even lower blinds. Whatever one level down is.

We think this'll prevent games from going on hours after hours.

This will begin to be implimented in tomorrow nights game.

When we are ready to move the blinds, the table host will instruct everyone to sit out. At that time, DO NOT MOVE, he will write down everyones current chip stack. He will then create a new table. Leave the current one, and go to the other one, sit down, and wait for the table host to tell you exactly how much to put in. We will then have another 3, 2, 1 countdown, and we continue the game.

Let's test this out and hope it works!

(This has now also been added to the rules for future refference.)

i think every one does. when the blinds are small, you can call almost everything to see if you get luck without much cost to your stack

sounds good cole

At that time, DO NOT MOVE, he will write down everyones current chip stack.

This part is key. It's a problem when you forget this step. Found that out a few games ago, eh?

Sounds good to me though. We have always had that problem of increasing blinds. This seems like a good solution.

Momentary lapse in judgement.

That's when Print Screens can also come in handy.

Sounds like a dandy idea, staffio.

If this doeesn't work for some reason, I vite on just starting the game at 25-50 nlinds so the game will be quicker

Oh, good point, Dean.

Just press print screen, open paint, and paste. Then you'll have everyones total a lot quicker...

what happens if you have less than the necessary total for the table i.e. you sit out with 450, but the minimum for the table is 1000?

Oh, good point, I forgot to mention about that.

Basically, we'll do the only logical thing. About 5 minutes before the time we're supposed to move, we'll begin the "buffer" zone. Which means that at that point, once all remaining people have the minimum buyin for the next table, we move up. If it's 5 minutes before, fine, if it's after that, ok.

So if the game starts at 10. At 10:55 we begin waiting. If you, Chap, have 450, the minimum for the next level is 500. We'll wait til you either get above 500 or bust.

That's about the best we can do for that situation.

It is sluggish right now, but now the series will reward those who consistantly play pots and not just sitting past small blinds. We will see how everything goes but I have a feeling that if run smoothly and PEOPLE LISTEN TO THEIR TABLE HOSTS, we can pull it off to make the series better.

Raising blinds also brings into play situational plays, stealing blinds, and pot commitment in a better level.

Oh stop whining. It was a mistake, and you still had a DOMINATING chip lead over everyone else.

I wasn't whining, I was trying to be humorous. Failed miserably.
