~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In order to become a gym leader, you must be active in the forums and you must battle either ME, another gym leader I match you up against, or another person who wants the postition of that gym leader, too. YOU MUST BE A MEMBER OF THIS CLUB! Everyone starts out as just a trainer. Trainers can have mini battles of 3 Pokémon each.
To Join:
1. Tell me your Pokémon and your Pokémon's Moves.
PLEASE NOTE: Please, as a gym leader, limit legendaries to 1 TOPS. Trainers, please follow this rule as well.
ALSO: When making a team, please try not to have doubles...I don't think anyone needs more than 1 of a certain Pokémon :-\
KEEP IN MIND: Pokémon and attacks exclusive to the 4th generation ARE allowed. The 4th gerneration game mechanic of move specific designations for physical/special attacks are also now being used.
Battling:
1. Items will not be used whether they are equip items or not.
2. Each Pokémon sent out to battle will have 400 HP.
3. Moves will never miss and accuracy and Pokémon levels will not be used!
4. Super Effectives, Not Very Effectives, x4, x8, and STAB will be used!
4. Damage is taken from an attack's base power (with modifiers). If the final damage is a decimal/fraction, use standard rounding rules.
5. Moves have to be correct. For example, a Walrein can't learn Fire Blast, etc. Attacks learned in any generation are legal. Deoxys and Rotom may use attacks from any of their forms.
6. Speed will not count. We will take turns instead. Pokémon like Blissey with extremely large HP will not gain any boost!
7. You can't switch Pokémon. Once a Pokémon is in play, it remains in play until KOed.
8. Only certain abilities will be used, namely: Drought, Drizzle, Air Lock, Forecast, Color Change, Wonder Guard, Levitate, Volt Absorb, Water Absorb, Flash Fire, Motor Drive, Sand Veil, and Multitype. Motor Drive is only used as an Electric immunity (no speed boost). Sand Veil is only used as Sandstorm immunity for Cacnea/Cacturne. Due to Arceus's Multitype ability, Arceus may be any type desired (but no dual types) but must stay that type throughout each and every battle. Its Judgment attack is and must stay that type, also. If a Pokémon with one of these abilities can also have a different ability, it will always have the ability that works here.
9. One hit K.O. moves can't be used, because they're unfair and quick, so if you have one, change it for another move.
10. Moves like Fly, Protect, Detect, and Dive can dodge moves, so if the opponent attacks, they will miss! Protect/Detect can only be used every other turn (and you can't include both moves on your moveset and just switch between them).
11. VERY IMPORTANT!: Sleep, Confusion, and Paralysis play NO ROLE in these games...only Poisoning and Burning!
12. Eruption/Water Spout do 200 damage if you have 400 HP, 100 damage if you have 200 HP, etc. It's always half of the HP you have left.
13. No stat boosting attacks such as Dragon Dance will be used here.
14. Weather moves like Sunny Day will be in effect for 3 turns (meaning 3 attacks for each person).
15. Sunny Day and Rain Dance power up moves. When Sunny Day is in effect, Fire does x1.5 more power. For example Fire Blast does 120 damage, but in Sunny Day, it does 180. In Rain Dance, Water type moves do x1.5 more power also, so Hydro Pump will do 180 instead of 120. Sunny Day also halves the power of Water type moves, while Rain Dance does the same for Fire type moves. Keep in mind that Solarbeam doesn't need charging in the sun but needs 2 turns of charging in the rain.
16. Both Hail and Sandstorm do 25 damage after each turn. Sandstorm does not affect Steel, Rock, or Ground Pokémon. Hail does not affect Ice Pokémon. During a Sandstorm, Special Attacks do half damage to Rock types.
17. Moves that drain HP like Absorb, Mega Drain, and Giga Drain steal half the damage done. Leech Seed saps 50 HP from the opponent and give the 50 to the user at the end of each of the opponent's turns but doesn't work on Grass types. Ingrain restores 25 HP after each of your opponent's turns as well as removing the Ground immunity from Flying types and Pokémon with the Levitate ability.
18. Substitute now works just like the games. Each Substitute costs 100 HP and will block up to that amount of damage including the extra damage from an attack that breaks it.
19. HP Restoring Moves: Recover, Synthesis, Moonlight, Morning Sun, Softboiled, Roost, etc. all restore 200 HP. When Sunny Day is active, Synthesis, Morning Sun, and Moonlight recover 300 HP but only 100 HP in rain, hail, or sandstorms. [Remember, Rain Dance and Sunny Day only last 3 turns (each Pokémon attacks 3 times).] Recovery moves may only be used every other turn.
20. When a Pokémon is burned, it loses 25 HP after each of its attack turns. Also, if a burned Pokémon uses a PHYSICAL ATTACK, the power is cut in half. So, if a burned Pokémon uses Earthquake, it normally does 100 damage but now does 50.
21. Toxic: When a pokemon is intoxicated, they lose HP after each of its attack turns. Toxic steals 25 HP first, then raises by 25 each time...so 25, 50, 75, 100, etc.
22. Metronome, Magnitude, Psywave, etc. are banned! Too random...no way to deal with them.
23. Explosion (and Self Destruct) is an automatic KO of both Pokémon. However, battlers can only have ONE exploder on their team.
24. Entry Hazards: When Spikes are used, opposing non-flying/levitating pokemon lose HP when put into the battle. Level 1 Spikes are -50 HP, Level 2 Spikes are -70 HP and level 3 Spikes are -100 HP. Level 1 Toxic Spikes cause regular Poison (-25 HP after each attack by the poisoned Pokémon). Level 2 Toxic Spikes are the same as Toxic. Poison Spikes do not affect Flying, Poison, or Steel types or Levitators. Stealth Rock does damage to entering opponents equal to 50 HP x weakness/resistance, so it would 200 HP damage to a Charizard but only 25 HP damage to a Mawile.
25. Ice Ball, Rollout, etc. are used for 5 consecutive turns and double their power each turn starting at 30. So they do 30, 60, 120, 240, 4800 damage...And super effectives do play a roll, so with SE hits, it would go 60, 120, 240, 480, 960.
26. Moves that depend on the Pokémon's level like Night Shade will do 100 damage with no benefits or deductions from SE, NVE, or STAB.
27. Focus Punch can only be used when a move that does not do direct damage was used on the opponent's last turn. Direct attacks that are completely blocked or otherwise did no damage that turn will still keep Focus Punch from being used.
28. Moves like Overheat or Superpower that decrease physical or special power after each use CUT THE POWER OF THOSE KINDS (PHYSICAL/SPECIAL) OF MOVES IN HALF each time it is used.
29. Counter and Mirror Coat are limited to either one Pokémon per team with both moves, or two Pokémon per team with one move on each. These moves are quite powerful, so there are no exceptions to this rule. Yes, this means that Wobbuffet is allowed. Mirror Coat does not affect Dark types, and Counter does not affect Ghost types.
30. Disable works on the last attack used by the opponent, and stays in effect for 3 turns (each Pokemon attacks 3 times).
31. Flail and Reversal do damage equal to the amount of HP missing from the Pokémon using it. For example, if a Seaking has 100 HP, meaning it lost 300 HP thus far, Flail would do 300 damage. SE, NVE, and STAB remain in play for these attacks.
32. Sableye is not allowed to have both Recover and Protect/Detect, only one or the other.
33. Shadow moves/Pokémon are not allowed.
34. Three Hidden Powers per team may be used, and they always have 70 base power.
35. In regards to Reflect/Light Screen: one physical blocker, one special blocker, and they can't be on the same Pokémon.
36. When using Destiny Bond, it lasts for two turns, but you must wait a turn before reactivating it. When Destiny Bond creates a double KO, the one who used Destiny Bond sends out first, then the other trainer sends out, and then the Destiny Bond user attacks first.
37. When a matchup can turn into an infinite stall, e.g. Wobbuffet vs. Wobbuffet, both Pokémon automatically faint, and the one who sent out most recently (who created the infinite stall matchup) sends out his/her next Pokémon first, while the other trainer attacks first.
38. When using moves that do recoil damage to the user, the amount of recoil is equal to 1/4 of the damage done to the opponent.
39. You are not allowed to have Protect/Detect and Endure on the same Pokémon.
40. Any attack effects not mentioned here that don't break other rules will work as they do in the video games.
***Remember***
Once a TRAINER updates their team, they can't update it for another 3 weeks.
To Become a Gym Leader
1) Create a Mono-Type (one type) team and post it here if you have not already done so.
2) Do NOT spam.
3) Be ACTIVE.
4) Join in all the activites we do here in GLA.
5) No flaming.
6) YOU MUST have collected AT LEAST 3 Gym Badges.
Then, after you meet these requirements, tell me or another leader that you want to be a gym leader. We will assign you to battle a gym leader. If you beat them, you become a gym leader. If not, you must wait a while before you try again. Battles to become a gym leader will ALWAYS be 6 versus 6.
Receiving Badges
In order to RECEIVE a badge, you cannot be a gym leader. You must be a trainer. You must challenge the gym leader and then battle. The gym leader will decide how many Pokémon will be used, but it must be more than a 1 on 1 battle.
When challenging a gym leader the LEADER will send out their Pokémon first, then the TRAINER will send out theirs and attack first.
Challenging the Elite 4
Trainers must obtain at least FOUR Badges. Then the trainer must challenge the Elite Four and beat them in order, straight in a row. HP is restored after each battle. When/if the trainer loses, they must wait a month to re-challenge them. Trainers may go for other badges in that month's time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, let's get some more gym leaders and let's get some active trainers!!
NOTE: I along with my co-leaders will have a say in who becomes a gym leader. If we see you fit to be a gym leader we will automatically promote you. Remember, to join, you must post your team of 6. If you are a trainer, you can have a mixed team, but to become a gym leader you must stick to ONE TYPE, although they can be mixed types like Water/Ice.
Elite Four and their Pokémon
I'm Bulbasaurus Rex, the second of the Elite 4. You must be strong to have earned 4 badges and defeated my predecessor, but my Ghost Pokémon will laugh when your pitiful Normal and Fighting type attacks pass right through them. They aren't friendly ghosts like Casper, so beware of their spooky power. BOO!

In order to become a gym leader, you must be active in the forums and you must battle either ME, another gym leader I match you up against, or another person who wants the postition of that gym leader, too. YOU MUST BE A MEMBER OF THIS CLUB! Everyone starts out as just a trainer. Trainers can have mini battles of 3 Pokémon each.
To Join:
1. Tell me your Pokémon and your Pokémon's Moves.
PLEASE NOTE: Please, as a gym leader, limit legendaries to 1 TOPS. Trainers, please follow this rule as well.
ALSO: When making a team, please try not to have doubles...I don't think anyone needs more than 1 of a certain Pokémon :-\
KEEP IN MIND: Pokémon and attacks exclusive to the 4th generation ARE allowed. The 4th gerneration game mechanic of move specific designations for physical/special attacks are also now being used.
Battling:
1. Items will not be used whether they are equip items or not.
2. Each Pokémon sent out to battle will have 400 HP.
3. Moves will never miss and accuracy and Pokémon levels will not be used!
4. Super Effectives, Not Very Effectives, x4, x8, and STAB will be used!
4. Damage is taken from an attack's base power (with modifiers). If the final damage is a decimal/fraction, use standard rounding rules.
5. Moves have to be correct. For example, a Walrein can't learn Fire Blast, etc. Attacks learned in any generation are legal. Deoxys and Rotom may use attacks from any of their forms.
6. Speed will not count. We will take turns instead. Pokémon like Blissey with extremely large HP will not gain any boost!
7. You can't switch Pokémon. Once a Pokémon is in play, it remains in play until KOed.
8. Only certain abilities will be used, namely: Drought, Drizzle, Air Lock, Forecast, Color Change, Wonder Guard, Levitate, Volt Absorb, Water Absorb, Flash Fire, Motor Drive, Sand Veil, and Multitype. Motor Drive is only used as an Electric immunity (no speed boost). Sand Veil is only used as Sandstorm immunity for Cacnea/Cacturne. Due to Arceus's Multitype ability, Arceus may be any type desired (but no dual types) but must stay that type throughout each and every battle. Its Judgment attack is and must stay that type, also. If a Pokémon with one of these abilities can also have a different ability, it will always have the ability that works here.
9. One hit K.O. moves can't be used, because they're unfair and quick, so if you have one, change it for another move.
10. Moves like Fly, Protect, Detect, and Dive can dodge moves, so if the opponent attacks, they will miss! Protect/Detect can only be used every other turn (and you can't include both moves on your moveset and just switch between them).
11. VERY IMPORTANT!: Sleep, Confusion, and Paralysis play NO ROLE in these games...only Poisoning and Burning!
12. Eruption/Water Spout do 200 damage if you have 400 HP, 100 damage if you have 200 HP, etc. It's always half of the HP you have left.
13. No stat boosting attacks such as Dragon Dance will be used here.
14. Weather moves like Sunny Day will be in effect for 3 turns (meaning 3 attacks for each person).
15. Sunny Day and Rain Dance power up moves. When Sunny Day is in effect, Fire does x1.5 more power. For example Fire Blast does 120 damage, but in Sunny Day, it does 180. In Rain Dance, Water type moves do x1.5 more power also, so Hydro Pump will do 180 instead of 120. Sunny Day also halves the power of Water type moves, while Rain Dance does the same for Fire type moves. Keep in mind that Solarbeam doesn't need charging in the sun but needs 2 turns of charging in the rain.
16. Both Hail and Sandstorm do 25 damage after each turn. Sandstorm does not affect Steel, Rock, or Ground Pokémon. Hail does not affect Ice Pokémon. During a Sandstorm, Special Attacks do half damage to Rock types.
17. Moves that drain HP like Absorb, Mega Drain, and Giga Drain steal half the damage done. Leech Seed saps 50 HP from the opponent and give the 50 to the user at the end of each of the opponent's turns but doesn't work on Grass types. Ingrain restores 25 HP after each of your opponent's turns as well as removing the Ground immunity from Flying types and Pokémon with the Levitate ability.
18. Substitute now works just like the games. Each Substitute costs 100 HP and will block up to that amount of damage including the extra damage from an attack that breaks it.
19. HP Restoring Moves: Recover, Synthesis, Moonlight, Morning Sun, Softboiled, Roost, etc. all restore 200 HP. When Sunny Day is active, Synthesis, Morning Sun, and Moonlight recover 300 HP but only 100 HP in rain, hail, or sandstorms. [Remember, Rain Dance and Sunny Day only last 3 turns (each Pokémon attacks 3 times).] Recovery moves may only be used every other turn.
20. When a Pokémon is burned, it loses 25 HP after each of its attack turns. Also, if a burned Pokémon uses a PHYSICAL ATTACK, the power is cut in half. So, if a burned Pokémon uses Earthquake, it normally does 100 damage but now does 50.
21. Toxic: When a pokemon is intoxicated, they lose HP after each of its attack turns. Toxic steals 25 HP first, then raises by 25 each time...so 25, 50, 75, 100, etc.
22. Metronome, Magnitude, Psywave, etc. are banned! Too random...no way to deal with them.
23. Explosion (and Self Destruct) is an automatic KO of both Pokémon. However, battlers can only have ONE exploder on their team.
24. Entry Hazards: When Spikes are used, opposing non-flying/levitating pokemon lose HP when put into the battle. Level 1 Spikes are -50 HP, Level 2 Spikes are -70 HP and level 3 Spikes are -100 HP. Level 1 Toxic Spikes cause regular Poison (-25 HP after each attack by the poisoned Pokémon). Level 2 Toxic Spikes are the same as Toxic. Poison Spikes do not affect Flying, Poison, or Steel types or Levitators. Stealth Rock does damage to entering opponents equal to 50 HP x weakness/resistance, so it would 200 HP damage to a Charizard but only 25 HP damage to a Mawile.
25. Ice Ball, Rollout, etc. are used for 5 consecutive turns and double their power each turn starting at 30. So they do 30, 60, 120, 240, 4800 damage...And super effectives do play a roll, so with SE hits, it would go 60, 120, 240, 480, 960.
26. Moves that depend on the Pokémon's level like Night Shade will do 100 damage with no benefits or deductions from SE, NVE, or STAB.
27. Focus Punch can only be used when a move that does not do direct damage was used on the opponent's last turn. Direct attacks that are completely blocked or otherwise did no damage that turn will still keep Focus Punch from being used.
28. Moves like Overheat or Superpower that decrease physical or special power after each use CUT THE POWER OF THOSE KINDS (PHYSICAL/SPECIAL) OF MOVES IN HALF each time it is used.
29. Counter and Mirror Coat are limited to either one Pokémon per team with both moves, or two Pokémon per team with one move on each. These moves are quite powerful, so there are no exceptions to this rule. Yes, this means that Wobbuffet is allowed. Mirror Coat does not affect Dark types, and Counter does not affect Ghost types.
30. Disable works on the last attack used by the opponent, and stays in effect for 3 turns (each Pokemon attacks 3 times).
31. Flail and Reversal do damage equal to the amount of HP missing from the Pokémon using it. For example, if a Seaking has 100 HP, meaning it lost 300 HP thus far, Flail would do 300 damage. SE, NVE, and STAB remain in play for these attacks.
32. Sableye is not allowed to have both Recover and Protect/Detect, only one or the other.
33. Shadow moves/Pokémon are not allowed.
34. Three Hidden Powers per team may be used, and they always have 70 base power.
35. In regards to Reflect/Light Screen: one physical blocker, one special blocker, and they can't be on the same Pokémon.
36. When using Destiny Bond, it lasts for two turns, but you must wait a turn before reactivating it. When Destiny Bond creates a double KO, the one who used Destiny Bond sends out first, then the other trainer sends out, and then the Destiny Bond user attacks first.
37. When a matchup can turn into an infinite stall, e.g. Wobbuffet vs. Wobbuffet, both Pokémon automatically faint, and the one who sent out most recently (who created the infinite stall matchup) sends out his/her next Pokémon first, while the other trainer attacks first.
38. When using moves that do recoil damage to the user, the amount of recoil is equal to 1/4 of the damage done to the opponent.
39. You are not allowed to have Protect/Detect and Endure on the same Pokémon.
40. Any attack effects not mentioned here that don't break other rules will work as they do in the video games.
***Remember***
Once a TRAINER updates their team, they can't update it for another 3 weeks.
To Become a Gym Leader
1) Create a Mono-Type (one type) team and post it here if you have not already done so.
2) Do NOT spam.
3) Be ACTIVE.
4) Join in all the activites we do here in GLA.
5) No flaming.
6) YOU MUST have collected AT LEAST 3 Gym Badges.
Then, after you meet these requirements, tell me or another leader that you want to be a gym leader. We will assign you to battle a gym leader. If you beat them, you become a gym leader. If not, you must wait a while before you try again. Battles to become a gym leader will ALWAYS be 6 versus 6.
Receiving Badges
In order to RECEIVE a badge, you cannot be a gym leader. You must be a trainer. You must challenge the gym leader and then battle. The gym leader will decide how many Pokémon will be used, but it must be more than a 1 on 1 battle.
When challenging a gym leader the LEADER will send out their Pokémon first, then the TRAINER will send out theirs and attack first.
Challenging the Elite 4
Trainers must obtain at least FOUR Badges. Then the trainer must challenge the Elite Four and beat them in order, straight in a row. HP is restored after each battle. When/if the trainer loses, they must wait a month to re-challenge them. Trainers may go for other badges in that month's time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, let's get some more gym leaders and let's get some active trainers!!
NOTE: I along with my co-leaders will have a say in who becomes a gym leader. If we see you fit to be a gym leader we will automatically promote you. Remember, to join, you must post your team of 6. If you are a trainer, you can have a mixed team, but to become a gym leader you must stick to ONE TYPE, although they can be mixed types like Water/Ice.
Elite Four and their Pokémon
I'm Bulbasaurus Rex, the second of the Elite 4. You must be strong to have earned 4 badges and defeated my predecessor, but my Ghost Pokémon will laugh when your pitiful Normal and Fighting type attacks pass right through them. They aren't friendly ghosts like Casper, so beware of their spooky power. BOO!
