Why did Almaxia or whatever get banned. Believe me im glad but i want to know why.

June 3rd, 2005, 07:05 PM
It was Almalexia, and she got banned because she posted 2 illegal post parties, and she is back already.

I thought she had 3 illegal post parties...But I'm usually wrong

Well you could be right, I only saw 2.

Well, I'll just take your world for it, I heard it from a person who has been known to lie. You account is probably more credible.

Making a thread in the Celebrations and Parties forum, when you reach a certain number of posts, but they are only allowed at 500, 1000, 1500, etc and she had an 800 post party, which was illegal, and a few others which I'm not certain of. And does this really belong in the court?
Aston Martin
June 3rd, 2005, 07:43 PM
A post party is a party celebrating how many posts you've made. A post party can only be celebrating 300 posts, or multiples of 500. So she had an 800, and 600 post party.

You can't get banned for 2 warnings, unless they were homosexual slurs (which they weren't), or if they were in a zero tolerance forum, which, again, they weren't. So she must have flouted the rules other than having 2 illegal parties.
Aston Martin
June 3rd, 2005, 07:51 PM
She most likely had previous warnings.

She was banned for SPAMing, plain and simple.

Oh, geez, alright shoulda known that. Well, if she did make a lot of pointless milestone parties, then yeah, it's a legit ban.

Once thing that's ironic, her post count stands still at 799 posts.

Just in case you're trying to say that Almalexia didn't get 800 posts (although I am not implying that you are), I have provided links to both of the parties below this paragraph. Almalexia posted the 800 post party with the intent of increasing its post count to 800 on that post. Unfortunately, post counts are off in Celebrations and Parties.

There were three SPAM warnings, as far as I heard.

Wow i didnt know you couldnt have a post party unless it is in multiples of .5k and 300, I would of been in it deep if i made a 600 post party...which reminds me
600 Posts and my 500 party was of May 20th

No, I was just saying that she got banned for spamming with an 800 post party, and it's kind of ironic that she didn't even reac 800. :bashhead:

Yes she was banned for a lot of spam warnings. Hardly surprising- it's not like she purposely made trouble but she was, shall we say, innocently naive. In other words- she had it coming, and that was obvious to everyone but her.
And Vinny I can't believe that you are fully happy that she has been banned. Lest we forget the flirting.

My two cents...for free!
Why oh why would you put limitations on the types of celebrations you can "throw" yourself in a forum that ONLY has celebrations? More importantly, that forum almost exclusively has "post" celebrations. I wouldn't argue that the warning wasn't warranted, as it's up to the mods of that forum. Instead, I argue that the "Celebrations and Parties" forum shouldn't exist. It amounts to pointless posts in a pointless forum. And quite frankly, it's a counter-productive rule to outlaw "parties" for most "posting" events. Jamie, I move for the "Celebrations and Parties" forum to be deleted.

I must say that I find it highly ironic that a forum in which the emphasis is put on post counts warns people so strictly for SPAM when the post count is actually turned off in that forum anyway. Madness if ever I saw it.

Yes well I just remember a lot of him being a 'gentleman' towards Almalexia in one of my forums, so it would be wrong for me not to remind him of it.

the rules were established by the former mods and people can rack up 100 posts in a day or two if they try hard enough. Even if post counts are off, they were not always off and SPAM is SPAM except with it's sam.

Would you rather have them SPAMing up other forums? I don't frequent C&P, but I understand its purpose (as miniscule as it is). We have plenty of forums operating under the same quaratine philosophy (The Thunderdome, Advertising, and The Testing Grounds all spring to mind). If there's any to target, I'd probably go with The Testing Grounds, seeing as how we can preview sigs now, but I'd rather have C&P there than make it something we need to enforce when people make the threads. Let people be happy for the worthless "accomplishments" in their generally unimportant little lives.

You sir, have missed the point (and the sarcastic wit) entirely. The point is that a member was warned in C&P for SPAMMING. Get it now? A forum devoted to celebrations and parties limits the types of celebrations and parties you can have! The post count isn't active, and the forum's purpose (as I see it) was to give those lovely spammers a place to take out their misplaced posting aggression. So we're back where we started. Warning people for spam in a forum that was designed to accomodate spam. Catching the winds of irony yet?

Not guests. Anybody.
It's pretty much like this. If you're new, then you have no chance. If they don't get a good first impression, you're good as gone. I'm still trying to get more than just Fire King and Jake in there to like me. As much as I'm a regular there now, I'm an unwanted regular.

Not necessarily... We've accepted a lot of new members who have wandered in and successfully proved that they're good members... just not many.
Yeah, and basically, Vinny runs the whole place, so if you're on his bad side, they're all against you.
WRONG, although I won't deny that I had an influence by posting that CLUB OF COOL (mandatory caps) link.
I may be an accepted regular in PIMI, but I am by no means the leader of PIMI. If a member has a past of doing things which are generally rather stupid (i.e. being a rep whore, or a member of a disrespected club), the PIMI regulars will usually provide links and tease that member.
And they love, for some childish and unkown reason, to pick apart if you accidently mistype a word.
That's only because you mistyped an incredibly simple word. If you're desperate enough to post without bothering to check what you've typed, you're clearly trying to post far too impulsively. Everyone can make a typo at some point, but when someone constantly makes typos, they will get picked out.
Try not basing your arguments on who you like better.
He's hated me since I called out the CLUB OF COOL (mandatory caps) in the Thunderdome, and they ended up being completely ridiculed. Then he got a warning for flaming in that club, after he attacked me.
Tom
June 10th, 2005, 02:06 PM
Frankly, suggesting Vinny runs PIMI just shows how unsuited you are to the forum. Most of the regulars there are not only less prone to ****-ups and faux-pas, but can actually take a ribbing without getting pissed off.
Also, it's not like the PIMI members get together and say "IS HE?SHE/IT SUITED TO OUR AWESOME CLIQUE OF AWESOMENESS?". If a person is flamed or teased, it's because that member wants to. If everyone flames you, it's because everyone doesn't like you, not because we all decided we don't like you, and not in a deliberate attempt to drive you away (usually).
