Ledyba continues. Miltank gets hurt. So does Ledyba. But Miltank is hit with a critical hit,

Finish Miltank

Nice job, Ledyba!
Now try this: fly up high and use Silver Wind, and circle above Miltank. Then dive bomb it using Tackle, as well as using Giga Drain!

Alice!
March 23rd, 2006, 11:38 PM
Ledyba flies up and dive bombs Miltank after using Silver Wind. Ledyba then dives as Miltank blasts its beam again. Ledyba falters in its use of Giga Drain, but slams into and KOs Miltank anyway.

Level up for Ledyba

Steve: Damn it! Miltank return. Go Girafarig!

Jeffie!
April 7th, 2006, 01:17 PM
Alright, Ledyba, stick with it!
Fly around fast, and then when Girafarig is looking away, fly into that bush. Hide there, then use Silver Wind. If it spots you, move quietly out the back of the bush and hide in the tree. Keep using Silver Wind until it figures out where you are, then fly up into the trees.

Alice!
April 17th, 2006, 04:42 PM
Girafarig charges straight at Ledyba before it can hide. Ledyba fires a Silver Wind in retaliation, but Girafarig turns around and starts running backwards! It's tail turns to metal, it plows through the attack, and slams into Ledyba for a lot of damage.

Jeffie!
May 4th, 2006, 01:05 PM
Ok, Ledyba, it seems to be much faster than you, and that definitely looked like Iron Tail... which could take you out pretty easily. So your best chance will be to use Silver Wind over and over! Of course, try with all your might to dodge its attacks, and try to throw in some Supersonics. If it acts strangely, then hit it with Giga Drain. It won't be quite as effective as Silver Wind, but if you get the opportunity, gaining some heath would be awesome!

Alice!
May 7th, 2006, 09:57 PM
Girafarig runs circles around Ledyba and slams it to the ground with Iron Tail after running through a Silver Wind. Ledyba flys backwards, slamming into a tree and floating down as Girafarig speeds forward and slams into Ledyba with an Astonish attack, knocking out Ledyba with haste.

What pokemon will you send out?

Jeffie!
May 11th, 2006, 03:08 PM
Ok, Ledyba, you've done your part.
Zubat, let's get this going!

Your powerhouse move is going to be Faint attack, so work it into everything you do.
Try this:
Fly up, so that Girafarig can't reach you, and start to knock things off of the trees. That may be enough to distract it long enough to use Faint Attack for some damage!

Alice!
May 11th, 2006, 08:50 PM
Girafarig watches Zubat carefully and slowly walks towards it as it begins attacking trees. Girafarig never takes its eyes of Zubat, and suddenly lunges up into the air without even moving its feet. Zubat twitches from the oddness of it all and is hit for minor damage, knocking Zubat down to the ground.

Jeffie!
May 12th, 2006, 05:41 PM
Ok, Zubat... Stay there and use Faint Attack. Then, use Supersonic to distract its ears and fly right behind it. while it's tring to switch heads, fly up so that it can't follow you like before. Then hang out for a bit and use Faint Attack.

Alice!
May 12th, 2006, 11:33 PM
Zubat flaps towards Girafarig, drawing ever closer, before it's wings glow black and it smacks into Girafarig with Faint Attack. Girafarig uses Growl as Zubat starts vibrating, distracting it's Supersonic attack and allowing Girafarig to hit Zubat with Iron Tail.

Jeffie!
May 13th, 2006, 02:19 PM
Zubat, I have a new plan.
Use Supersonic without stopping, and fly around. Watch out for Girafarig, and wait until Supersonic has succeeded. When Girafarig is confused, hit it with Faint Attack!

Alice!
May 14th, 2006, 11:09 PM
Zubat flies around like a mad man on crack, who can also fly, evading Girafarig's etheral movements until it slams itself into a tree. It walk staggardly, like a drunk man who cant fly, and Zubat takes the opportunity to slap Girafarig in the face with its dark wings, its Faint Attack connecting perfectly.

Jeffie!
May 15th, 2006, 08:59 AM
Beautiful, Zubat!

Now, while it's still wigging out, use Leech Life to get a bit of health back. Then use Faint Attack without wasting any time, and fly up into those trees, where you can hide. Wait there until Girafarig has regained its wits. Then use Supersonic again!

Alice!
May 16th, 2006, 02:54 PM
Zubat flys down and latches onto Girafarig's tail, drawing blood to replenish its health. Girafarig suddenly stops stumbling around and smacks Zubat with Iron Tail. Steve grins as he watches.

Steve: Two heads are better than one, right Jeffie boy!

Jeffie!
May 16th, 2006, 07:09 PM
Oh, I see how it is. Zubat, let's show him that that's not so true!

Start up with Supersonic again and don't let Girafarig block it in any way. Keep at it even for a while after it seems confused. Then, after a good chunk of time, fly right up behind its tail and stay on Supersonic-mode. Fly undeneath it once it notices you're there, and use Faint Attack from a new angle. That should mix it up good!

Alice!
May 16th, 2006, 09:38 PM
Zubat flies around, vibrating madly, but Girafaridg seems unaffected. It actually yawns, getting boted waiting for your attack.

Jeffie!
May 16th, 2006, 09:55 PM
Alright then, Zubat, enact part two of the previous plan. Fly under Girafarig as quickly as you can, and hit it with Faint Attack.

Alice!
May 17th, 2006, 11:03 AM
Zubat banks down and gets below Girafarig, hitting it in the legs with its outstretched wings. Only after Zubat makes contact does Girfarig move, jumping forward to bring Zubat into range on its Iron Tail, which knocks Zubat back a ways.

Jeffie!
May 17th, 2006, 12:51 PM
Ok, Zubat... Fly underneath Girafarig form in front this time, it'll be more difficult for it to back up as quickly as before. Then hide out under there and attach yourself to its belly. Use Leech Life to drain it of all its energy!

Alice!
May 18th, 2006, 08:56 AM
Zubat flaps down beneath Girafarig, who jumps up, comes down, and lands on Zubat before it can latch on. Girafarig then gallops a ways off and staresdown Zubat before shaking its head and stumbling for a moment.

Jeffie!
May 18th, 2006, 12:22 PM
Quick, Zubat, take this opportunity to hit it with Faint Attack while it is regainins its balance!

Alice!
May 20th, 2006, 03:55 PM
Zubat swipes at Girafarig with Faint Attack, doing heavty damage. Girafarig reels and falls to its knees, its head between its legs.

Finish Girafarig

Before the battle, I'd like to check to see who will take over for Pingu. Blue, Rip, I suppose that whomever posts first will be great for me. Anyway, after another three or four days, I won't be able to post but about once a week. Prolly mondays, to hit up the day care. But, ah, on to the battle. By the way, the current battle is with my rival, who will prolly be finishing with his starter, Snorunt. Or so says Pingu....

~~~
Zubat, nice shot!!
Now while it's out of its senses, use Supersonic and land righton its shoulders to transfer the vibrations striaght to it! While you're on its shoulders, use Leech Life, and finish it off with one more Faint Attack!
Alice!
May 30th, 2006, 11:41 PM
Zubat clumsily crashes into Girafarig as it tries to regain balance, knocking it over and knocking it out.
Steve: C'mon Girafarig, I know you're better than that. Whatever. There's no way you'll beat this.... I choose you, Snorunt!
Jeffie!
June 17th, 2006, 08:16 PM
Alright, Zubat, Stick it out!
Let's keep on the Faint Attack barrage. Start out with a quick Supersonic rush, then nail it with Faint Attack!
Alice!
June 18th, 2006, 01:18 AM
Ermmh, that post always said Snorunt. Really it did.
~~~

Snorunt dodges the Supersonic attack and quickly Leers Zubat. Zubat falters while Snorunt forms rings of water in front of itself and sends them towards Zubat. Zubat is hit, and swoops down to use Faint Attack, but smacks itself in the face instead of Snorunt. Snorunt bounces up and down as snow falls on Zubat, inflicting a lot of damage.

Jeffie!
June 19th, 2006, 10:03 AM
Ok, so my compy sucks royally.... This is the third time I'll have rewritten this post...

Level up for Zubat? Give my rival's pokemon genders? Tell me to?

~~~
Zubat return... go Machop!
Machop, Focus energy, then Leer. Run around a bit, then find an opening... use Rock Slide, and follow with Low Kick!
~~~

So there's the condensed version. I'm off to work. I'ma Lifeguard!

Alice!
June 19th, 2006, 09:45 PM
Part of my compy glows blue now. Happy happy 250 gig external hard drive blue! The rest of it sucks....

~~~
Ermmh, yes. Level up for Zubat. And Snorunt is...male!
~~~

Machop Focuses its energy while Snorunt forms the rings of water again. Machop jumps over Snorunt and drops a Rock Slide attack through the water and onto Snorunt, inflicting massive damage. Snorunt breathes snow at Machop, who jumps through and Low Kicks Snorunt, sending it flying backwards for a helluva lot of damage.

~~~
Lifeguarding. Nifty. I'm taking a lifeguarding class. That I learned starts next week, not this week.
Jeffie!
June 25th, 2006, 08:47 PM
250 gigs?? Wow... I'm jealous.
~~~

Nice hits, Machop!
Now try this out: Start with Leer, Then try to get Snorunt to use Powder Snow. Of course, taunt him with an attack or two of your own, either Rock Slide or Low Kick, be creative, then when that crazy snow comes a'blowin, Stand completely still as though he had frozen you. Now, be careful, though, as you may be frozen for real, so just watch out for that. If you're still cold when you're acting, then go crazy wriggling and writhing and such... but if not, stand all frozen-like, then let him come up close and give him a taste of your foot!! Low Kick style, of course. (disclaimer: 'give him a taste' doesn't actually mean 'kick him in the face,' just 'kick him so hard he tastes it,' or 'kick him so that he falls and gets your foot in his mouth,' or something like that...) At the same instant, be ready with another Leer, which can buy you enough time to get him once more with Rock Slide.

~~~
Thanks for correcting me on Rock Throw --> Rock Slide. I editted my last post to change that.
Alice!
June 25th, 2006, 10:29 PM
You should be. Even though all that's on it right now is UT, Worms, and Eureka SeveN.
~~~

Machop Leers Snorunt before running in and kicking Snorunt on the side of its head. Snorunt shakes itself off and shoots rings of water at Machop. Machop kicks them apart, and they do very little damage. Snorunt blasts Machop with Powder Snow, causing Machop to be very, very, still. Snorunt bounces up and down happily, and begins forming much larger rungs of water than before. It sends them flying forward, and they crash into Machop, sending him flying but still not moving. Looks like Machop really is frozen. Bummer.

~~~
Honestly, I didn't even notice that until you pointed it out. I'm doing another Machop battle, and he's using Rock Slide as well.
Jeffie!
June 28th, 2006, 11:54 AM
Hmm... another thing. Can the other pokemon of my rival's have genders too? Pwease?
~~~

Oh dear... How dost I go about thawing out Machop??

Machop, breathe heavy, and use your warm breath to warm up your muscles. Then wait for Snorunt to react and dodge his attack. Then give him a Leer, and run over to me. I'll toss you up into that tree, and you grab on to it. Then find a nice small branch, and pull it down to the ground. Wait for Snorunt to come close, use Leer again, then let the branch go to smack him. Use that opportunity to throw as many Rock Slides and Low Kicks at him before he can recover from the branch-smack.

Alice!
June 28th, 2006, 09:10 PM
Miltank - Female
Girafarig - Toaster

~~~
You see small drops of water forming on Machop's face, and he appears to be quivering slightly. As Snorunt approaches Machop springs to life and Low Kicks him in the face. Machop then ignores what you said slightly and jumps up into the tree of his own accord. He then proceeds with your plan, which worked except for Snorunt freezing the limb with Powder Snow. So it didn't hit him in the face. Quite the contrary. Snorunt hit Machop with the water. So Machop smacked him in the face with Rock Slide. And then Linux stopped typing.
Jeffie!
July 9th, 2006, 12:51 PM
Kay-o!
~~~

Machop, what you need to do now is hang out around the frozen branch, and use the same technique to thaw it out. Now, make sure you don't stand in its potential path, but kinda off to the side. Taunt Snorunt over, then give the branch one final heated breath, and get out of the way. That should send Snorunt flying a bit, so you'll have to run to get close enough to give him another nasty Rock Slide-Low Kick combo! When that's all said and done, use Leer to keep him stuck in place, and knock him up with one more Rock Slide.

Alice!
July 12th, 2006, 08:33 PM
Haha. That tickles me. In a way that if you tickled me that way, I'd say "I only like you as a friend. Knock it off before I get the hose."

~~~
Machop does what you say and does a lot of damage to Snorunt. So much that it's about to faint.
Finish Snorunt
~~~

If you couldn't tell, I'm tired and lazy right now....

Jeffie!
July 14th, 2006, 08:41 AM
Oh dear...

~~~
BTW, W00Tage on the fact that you're lazy...
Also BTW, was that about the fact that you deemed Girafarig "toaster" and what I subsequently put in my first post?
~~~

Go Machop!!
OK, now were gonna be completely reckless and see how he reacts. Wait until Snorunt starts to do something, anything, and then charge straight at him. If he uses Water pulse, try to jump straight through the ring. Otherwise, just charge on through, and hit him with a beautiful Low Kick.

Alice!
July 14th, 2006, 07:58 PM
The latter.

~~~
Snorunt pants and stares right at Machop. A ring of water begins to form in front of him and Machop rushes forward straght through it. Snorunt drops the attack in surprise and gets nailed with Machop's foot, knocking him out handily.
Steve: Dammit! Snorunt, return. You win this time Jeffie, but next time not be so lucky!
Steve then runs off, dropping some cash, the feather, and something odd looking as well.
Level up for Machop + $400 + Rainbow Feather + Choice Band
Well, by now you probably want to get the hell out of this forest. There's a path that you haven't taken yet, as well as the one you took to get here. Which one do you follow?
Alice!
July 16th, 2006, 11:29 PM
Exciting and new path gets you out of the woods quite handily. I suppose at this point you'll want to do somethings like going to the next town, or fighting a wild pokemon, or finding a trainer to battle.
That'll at least give me a clue as to what the exam is for, right?"
The building looks ancient, but well kept, with statues of Bellsprout in various places. On the sides of the building are massive gardens in which hundreds of Bellsprout supposedly live.
You approach the door and a Monk stares at you suspiciously.
Monk: What's your business here? Are you touring the building or entering the gardens?
Jeffie!
July 21st, 2006, 01:20 AM
"I'd like to look around for a bit, then check out the garden, if you don't mind."
Alice!
July 21st, 2006, 01:31 AM
Monk: All right. You may enter, but do not be scared if your passage is empty. My monk brothers have all met on the top floor today....
You enter and sure enough the building is empty. The door closes behind you seemlingly on its own and dust kicks up. You look upward at the highceilings and watch as the building sways. You see a rickety ladder set off on one of the buildings sides. As you look up, you begin to become aware of a ruckus coming from far above.
OMG! I have 6.5 times as many posts as you do! ZOMG! So, are you gonna be a whore and make a party about this?
~~~

You climb the rickety old ladder all the way to the top floor, an excursion that leaves you more than just a wee bit tired. You pant for a moment, than walk closer to the door. You hear a voice call out, "Oh no! Poliwag, return." Funny thing about that voice...it seems very familiar.

A: Walk on in

Of course, by now I've jumped out the window....

~~~
You enter and see a group of monks staring out the window. You hear the eldest monk say, "That young man...he has such a bond with his pokemon. I think he could easily become the new champion.". As a trainer looking to become the champion yourself, you're a bit surprised, and wonder who that trainer was, and why he sounded so familiar. Soundly, you realize it must have been your childhood friend Gecko, who had set out on his journey only a few weeks before you did. The monks then turn around....
Eldest Monk: Oh my...another one. What is your business here young trainer?
Jeffie!
July 24th, 2006, 07:51 PM
"Well, my guess is that I'm 'bout on the same track as Gecko. That's who that was just now, right? So, what's the ritual up here?"
Alice!
July 24th, 2006, 08:09 PM
Eldest Monk: Why...yes, that was young Gecko who just left. DO you know him well?
Jeffie!
July 24th, 2006, 08:10 PM
"I'd say so. We've been pals for a good while."
Alice!
July 24th, 2006, 08:17 PM
Eldest Monk: Well, I'm sure a friend of Gecko would have no problem with taking our test as well. Do you accept, young trainer?
Jeffie!
July 24th, 2006, 08:23 PM
"Of course!"
Alice!
July 24th, 2006, 08:30 PM
Eldest Monk: Well, since Gecko just trashed my pokemon....
Monk: Oh, right, that means it's me. It's been a long time since we had two trainers in such rapid succesion. Well, I choose you, Bellsprout! [Level 12, Male]
Jeffie!
July 24th, 2006, 08:41 PM
Alright! I'll counter with Elekid!
Elekid, watch out for those vines and roots. Bellsprouts are notorious for them. Open with Leer, then get out of Bellsprout's line of sight and use Quick Attack. While you are close, use Fire Punch too!
Alice!
July 24th, 2006, 08:55 PM
Elekid slams Bellsprout with Leer before it can react. Elekid then smirks and gets behind it before slamming into its back with Quick Attack. Bellsprout grabs Elekid in a flash the moment it connects and tosses it away before assaulting it with Vine Whip.
Jeffie!
July 24th, 2006, 09:07 PM
OK, Elekid, let's show this bugger the meaning of "Fire."
Use Leer again from where you are, then use Quick Attack, just to get close, and have a crazy Fire Punch in the works. Lay that down on Bellsie, and as he is trying to get you, swing out at the vines and stuff with hot hands. Don't let up just yet. Charge in again, preparing a Fire Punch, and expect a Vine Whip or Wrap attempt. If that's coming, ditch to the side, and spring behind it. Then let him have some more Fire with Fire Punch!
Alice!
July 24th, 2006, 10:45 PM
Elekid uses Leer, but this time Bellsprout turns its head to the side so the attack doesn't do anything. Elekid rushes forward and uses Fire Punch, which connects, doing massive damage. A cloud of powder erupts the moment Elekid hits, and, as Elekid breathes it in, he quickly falls asleep.
Jeffie!
August 5th, 2006, 10:32 PM
Damn! Here's an Awakening, Elekid.
Hmmm... we'll have to watch out for that. For now, concentrate on moving around a lot, but if you get an easy opening, go for a Fire Punch. Watch out for that powder, and if you see it at all, hold your breath, and move out of the cloud.
Let's see if we can get this going, and then we might jazz it up a bit...
Alice!
August 7th, 2006, 10:49 PM
While Elekid wakes up, Bellsprout goes over to a corner of the room with soil and plants its roots. Elekid starts running around the room like crazy headless chicken, and Bellsprout's Vine Whip attacks miss. Elekid then jumps in and hits Bellsprout with a strong Fire Punch, dealing damage as well as burning the poor little plant. The poor little plant then grabs Elekid with its secondary vines and starts squeezing it tight and smacking it with Vine Whip at the same time.
Jeffie!
August 13th, 2006, 10:58 PM
Elekid, Heat up your fist like a Fire Punch to burn the vines squeezing you and if that manages to free you, use the hot hands to actually use Fire Punch. Keep avoiding those stupid vines and powder stuffs.
Alice!
August 15th, 2006, 12:11 AM
Elekid uses burning fire to hurt Bellsprout, then punches it in the face, dealing more massive damage. Bellsprout shakes its head and some powder comes out, but it is now too weak to put Elekid to sleep.
Finish Bellsprout
Jeffie!
August 21st, 2006, 04:09 PM
Alright Elekid, forget yourself and go all out with a firey fist fury! (Fire Punches)
Alice!
August 23rd, 2006, 08:57 AM
Elekid pays so little attention to itself that Bellsprout smacks it in the gut with Vine Whip before Elekid can even land one attack. Elekid doubles over and starts coughing and gasping for air.
Keep try!
Jeffie!
August 23rd, 2006, 10:37 AM
Alright, Elekid, that wasn't the best idea, I guess... Take your time to recover from that hit, and make sure to protect yourself with hot hands. As soon as you are ready, move slowly closer and closer to Bellsprout, blocking any of his attacks, and move quickly if he uses that powder attack. Once you are close, give him those hands to deal with!
Alice!
August 23rd, 2006, 11:21 PM
Level up?
~~~

Well, yeah, I'd like to know why all these monks are all over this building. Also, do you happen to know anything about what Gecko was up to? I'd like to see if I can catch up with him.

F*ck no. Only yes. Level up for Elekid

Eldest Monk: This is our sacred place of worship. Why wouldn't there be monks all about the place? All I know of the one called Gecko is that he is an excellent trainer who is going places. Probably quite a bt faster than you, unless you have flight capabilities.

Visit Earl at the Pokemon Academy! I'ma show off my Badge.

You enter Earl's Pokémon Academy, but holy crap! The whole place is demolished, and there's paper and stuff flung all over. You can see that one of the windows is shattered, and Earl and his students are nowhere to be found.

What to do!

Oh noes!! Who would do such a thing??

I run around, looking for a clue in the Academy, then head outside and ask everyone I can find what happened.

You find nothing inside the building, but while you investigate by talking to townsfolk, Anonymous Bystander has some information! It seems that someone that fits Gecko's description, along with a female companion, found a note inside the Academy and flew off towards the Ruins of Alph.

Flew?? Crap.
I'm way behind. Well, I might as well make my way to Alph.

You head on out of Violet City and find yourself on the open road. However, night soon falls, and you have a choice to make, You can either set up camp where you are, go forward a ways and try to find a better spot, or keep on going through the night. Or do something completely different, if you're clever.
