By the time I had half-way finished the only parts I was really looking forward to were those with Tol Sivron and his beaurocratic crew of misfits. It was like an old comedy routine. Ever since the New Republic assault on the Maw installation it was just a riot.

And I loved the line, "Rebel troops have entered the base! Rebel troops have entered the--" that made me laugh, too.

Anyways, speaking of how I felt half-way through it seemed that it dragged for quite awhile... I felt like the conflicts were elongated unnecessarily to fill a third book. I really felt like a lot was resolved long before it was over. But that's just me... and it was worth the padding just to get more of Tol Sivron demanding to take votes and go into meetings. Cracked me up.

I was kinda disappointed out how he kinda copped out with Mon Mothma... if she's not going to be the head cheese anymore there doesn't seem to be any reason to have kept her alive (although I could be proven wrong... shhh). It's not like anybody was that attached to her.

The thought of Mara Jade and Lando... :shudder: Although I guess the thought of Lando and anybody is a little weird. :D

Overall, for all the complaints I enjoyed this series more than I've enjoyed most others. Good stuff.
I still feel like there wasn't good reason to have a dozen students at the Academy if they weren't going to name them all... but them's the breaks. It's nice to have an open door for books like I, Jedi... but I can't imagine that that was the author's intent... more than likely Stackpole just recognized the same thing I recognized :D

I wish I had more to say, but having already read I, Jedi it's kinda hard to know what I expected out of most of this series because I already had a general outline of the story... so there weren't a lot of surprises left to me.
