As I'm merely a male, I'm not exactly clued in to all the products and techniques women use to dress up. If anyone (male or female) can offer any advice on good products, clothing and general tips, it'd be greatly appreciated if you PM myself or Crazy Jamie.

Body Care

Face Products

General advice: Cleanse, scrub and moisturise. This is the rule for a spotless face. When you wake up, splash some freezing cold water in your face, and apply a face scrub product to remove ‘dead’ skin cells. Rinse this off with warm-ish water and dry your face before applying moisturising cream. Nienke

Skin Products

General advice: For spots, the same goes for women as has been mentioned for men in the guide to men's looks. Also, it is very important to use make-up remover every night before going to bed, as make-up which is not removed properly will cause spots and dry skin. You should also be careful when buying make-up. I used to use body-shop make-up, as it is not tested on animals, but I found that all body-shop products tend to dry out my skin. Don’t buy the cheap stuff, as with make-up the more expensive stuff actually is better! Nienke

Body Care Tips and Advice

Moisturise!: There are a lot of good moisturising products on the market so make good use of them! Using moisturisers can really help your skin in general, especially in winter, so do not be shy and use them! Nienke

Hair Care

Use mousse rather than sprays or gels: If you use a lot of hair products, use styling mousse rather than gel or spray, as the latter two tend to dry out your hair and you will get split ends and damaged hair. Mousse is a lot nicer (as long as you don’t get the sticky kind). Nienke

Hair Products

L'Oreal is very good for hair products in general. Nienke

Hair styling Tips and Advice

Straighteners and Curling Irons: Be sure not to use either of these products twice a week. It has been proven that they can dry hair out and cause damage when used too often. Nienke

Don't wash your hair everyday: Washing your hair too often can also damage your hair. Only wash it once every couple of days. It is also much easier to style your hair when it hasn't been washed for a couple of days. Nienke

Use a cold rinse: For the brave girls amongst you, rinse your hair with cold water before you get out of the shower. It gives your hair more shine. Nienke

Clothing Tips and Advice

Think of the bigger picture: When shopping for clothes try to pick out a matching top and trousers rather than buying three pairs or trousers. This will allow you to create a better wardrobe. Pick out a pair of trousers that you like, and then try to find a top to go with it (or vice versa). Preferably also pick out trousers that match your shoes too! Nienke

Don't overmatch: It is important to think about clothes from a wardrobe point of view, but be careful not to overmatch. Keep it simple and stylish. Try not to wear more than two colours (excluding jeans- they go with most things). Also keep shoes a neutral colour like black or white. Nienke
