My signature was banned for a reason. The reason is wrong and i have been punished for something that others are getting away with. In the ESm, peoples sigs slow down the compuyter right, well kat in the hat has deleted mine twice but never touched theres. They complained that it slowed down the computer. Then i changed it and made sure when i scrolled by it didnt slow down or the page was not slow in loading. It did not slow down so i kept it. Then i ask kat today why she had not delewted the other ESM members sigs and she said she never noticed...and deleted mine again even though it followed the rules. i have people who said will my sig stood the last minutes of its life that it did not interfer with the pages loading. I think this should be looked at very closley because i fell the punishment was wrong.

Also if it slows it down soo much they can disable sigs in the User CP.

*sigh*...You shouldn't have brought attention to yourself...you have had 3 warnings for SPAM since November, that spells B.A.N. to me...
Also, their sigs weren't 500k characters long. If Kat said she didn't notice, she means that she didn't notice their sigs were breaking the limit. Which they're not.

Having a signature is a privilege - not a right. When you abuse that privilege repeatedly you get put into your little own no-sig usergroup.

UDK, would you mind posting the last sig you had that I deleted? I'm pretty sure it was too long, but if you are so sure otherwise then perhaps we should get a second opinion.
I meant I didn't notice there's slowing it down by any significant amount. I've since checked Dark Link's and it does make scrolling a little slower, but not a lot. I also haven't gotten any complaints about his, while there were several people complaining about yours.
There will be a character limit set soon enough anyway, so that should settle any future problems like this one.
Cluck.

I haven't noticed his sig slowing my computer down, and my computer is always frozen when too many codes are on a webpage..

UDK's sig really did not affect me, it went the same pace.

I have a 512 KBs Cable connection, and a page where he posted 3 times took about 3 1/2 minutes to load. And if i would try and scroll past it, it would be nearly impossible to even get by it.

I didnt save it. but im sure this is how it was. I think we should have a little bar that tells what the character count is so we know. Because i had no way of knowing. I thought it was way lower than the rest that i did.

if you didn't use a generator you would have know it was very long. plus just make it in word/notepad/other word processor so that you can see the characters

There did actually use to be a character count for posting...Before the upgrade I think.
But shortkut's right, you should have just copy and pasted it in a wordpad.
Plus your sig wasn't that small when it was in your sig box...

It was larger when in your sig, I'm sure of it. That's beside the point though, as that's not why I'm posting here.
I don't want to hear about "some ESM members" because that's childish, saying that you shouldn't get punished for something because other people are doing it. Also, the difference is we weren't over the limit. My sig, which was the worst offender in the ESM, was still under the height limit and was one fifth the size of your sig. More than likely, the reason Kat removed your sig was because of you violating the height limit which you obviously knew being a former member of the ESM. Having a generated pic of her can't help either.
There was no rule against the size tag (Well, now there is, and I've promptly removed my signature since then), so we didn't break the limit. We didn't recieve complaints. The thing is, you did, and got your sig removed for it.

No way, it was in a bigger size than that. It was visibly too long at a glance, I remember that much. It is not hard to check the character count on something, and if you had even glanced at the code or tried to scroll through it, it would have been readily apparent. I don't hold it against you, you didn't realise it'd cause problems, but I did tell you that if your sig was a problem again that your privileges would be removed.

And to say I'm likely to let you guys bend the rules is ridiculous, I think I have always been adamant that you all follow them just as everyone else does. Probably more so than anything.
His sig I deleted because of the character count was within length and width restrictions. I knew he could easily remake it if he needed to since it was genned, and it was really over the top, so that's why I deleted it instead of requesting he change it. His latest one I deleted was because it was too long though. I do not care what the sig is of, whether it be me or a car or whatever. I couldn't even see the colours on the sig anyway, it just looked all black, which reaffirms my belief that it was just causing too many problems.

Thats odd, I have a 56k modem and his sig, when he had it, didnt affect the way anything loaded.

I know Kat, I was just saying it couldn't have helped, lol.

Well congratulations, you have a great internet connection...
I'm thinking complaints were more along the lines of scrolling, as in, the page stopping when you scroll past a huge sig. It used to happen with glow 2 a lot (Before we could use BG2), and it was really annoying.

I don't like sigs, apart from mine.
Yeah, I always get my computer slowing down when I go past big sigs, especially in the testing grounds, that is why I stopped going there.
