Please read the following rules carefully before posting a case.

Types of cases

There are three types of cases that may be brought before the Gamewinners Court:

Member vs Member: You may bring a case against another member who you believe has been harassing or targeting you maliciously. You must provide evidence (below) and reasoning to support your case. Please note that we can only deal with incidents that have occurred within the site itself- altercations that have occurred through Instant Messenger or any other form of communication outside of this site are irrelevant. If you wish to report a member whom you believe has been breaking the rules but not is not harassing you, then please contact the moderator of the forum or use the "Report This Post As Bad" link.

Member vs Moderator: You may bring a case against a moderator whom you believe has targeted you for harassment and or is otherwise being bias in their rulings. Once again you must provide evidence (see below) and reasoning to support your case. You may also bring up (and are encouraged to do so) past warnings or other incidents which support any claims of bias or uneven rulings. We cannot deal with incidents that occur outside of the site. This does not include moderators acting outside their own forum(s) - for this, see Member vs Member.

Appeals: You may appeal against a banning that has been imposed upon you. You may also make an appeal against a warning given to you by a moderator. As always you must support your case with evidence (see below) and reasoning. You may bring up any past warning or incident which you believe pertinent/related to your case.

Procedures
Once you have brought your case before the court, the GW Court Moderators will then investigate the complaint to determine it’s merits and validity. If the case is rejected for insufficient grounds, nuisance complaint, or unsubstantiated animosity, please do not appeal the case by continuing to make arguments in that thread or a new one. Should the case be heard, the GW Court Moderators will fully regard all evidence and comments. They will then make their rulings and appropriate disciplinary actions will be imposed as necessary. All cases must be conducted in a dignified manner, if you fail to do so your case may be dismissed.

Further Notes

Evidence: Evidence consists of links to threads demonstrating whatever the core of your case may be, and should be relevant to the case. Only posts within the site will be counted. Anything taking place outside the site, such as Instant Messenger, will be discounted. If you provide quotes, you must also provide links to the source of these quotes. Please also note that Private Messages are not considered proper evidence, despite taking place within the site.

Contributions: Other members are welcome to make their own contributions to cases, providing that their comments are relevant to the current proceedings. All posts that are not relevant to the current case will be deemed as SPAM and will be dealt with accordingly by the GW Court Moderators.

Frivolous Suits: Cases determined to be fraudulent, brought under false pretense, or otherwise part of a part of a pattern of suit lacking merit will result in immediate dismissal. Depending upon the members conduct record to date, warnings forum blocks or banning may be imposed as deemed necessary by the GW Court Moderators.

Moderator Discretion: Please remember that although the same general rules apply across the Gamewinners site, interpretation is at the discretion of the Moderators. Some moderators are lenient, where as others (especially true in Zero Tolerance forums) are much more strict. Therefore, it should be noted that bias is not automatically present because you believe that your action was not in violation, or a Moderator is being too strict. Try to re-assess your situation, possibly by seeking another viewpoint, before posting a case in the court.

GENERAL RULES

The following is a brief overview of the forum wide rules, which also apply to this forum.

No SPAM: SPAM is posting just for the sake of raising your post count or posting something that is not relevant to the topic at hand. This includes one word replies (where not appropriate), a totally off-topic post or thread, bumping dead topics, and double posting.

No Flaming: Flaming is saying something derogatory about another member. While the extent of the 'flame' is at the moderator's discretion (and will often vary depending upon the nature of the forum, for example if it is Zero Tolerance), blatant flames and homosexual or racist slurs are not allowed at any time. Any fights or flames should by taken to the Thunderdome.

No Advertising: This includes having a link to somewhere other than to another place on GameWinners in your signature. If you want to advertise your webpage, do so by putting it in the WWW space in your profile (you can always put in your signature to please click the WWW link) or by posting in the advertising forum.

No Outside Links: Outside links can only be posted if they are relevant to the topic - as in a direct link to a news story or a place that specifically outlines a game cheat that has been asked for. No inappropriate links (such as those to 'questionable' web sites) are allowed at any time - even if they are asked for. Other than that, links to other threads within the forums, the GameWinners main site, or its affiliate (e.g.; GameFAQS) ARE allowed.

Signatures: Signatures should be the length of 10 normal font lines or approximately 13 small font lines. It also must pass the 'Bumper Sticker Rule' regarding its content (as in if you wouldn't see it on a Bumper Sticker, it can't be in your signature). The mods and members of the Testing Grounds will be happy to assist you with your signature if you have any questions. If you are told to change your signature, please do so immediately. Failure to do so will get your signature shortened or removed permanently.

Censor Bypassing: Censor bypassing is the removal of one letter of a 'curse' word and replacing it with a symbol. (e.g.; Sh*t) This is allowed in all forums as long as the symbol is one of the 10 that can be made by pressing SHIFT and a number (1 - 0) on the keyboard. Full censor bypassing is only allowed in certain forums - such as the Thunderdome, Critics Raw, and GameWinners Court Uncensored. Please check each forums specific rules for full details.
