That or if a new forum is made and it needs a mod, or if a forum grows in activity and the current mods of that forum request a member to help.

Hasn't Fierce Deity Link been failed a few times? Man, that's tough. Maybe next time. :)

Heretic, check your PMs. I sent you one. :D

I can't believe FDL failed again. He should be a mod. I really can't see how others would feel different, unless by personal feelings towards him, which shouldn't be a factor when voting.

300 posts
16 or mature

You can get nominated for a different forum almost instantly but the forum that you were nominated to mod last time you have to wait till you have 500 more posts.....

FireBall, chill out man. It's not the end of the world.

I do believe that a mod vote can be cancelled because

A) There was a tie.
B) The admins had second thoughts
C) The mods wanted to wait a bit longer.

Cannibal3rd
December 2nd, 2003, 03:42 PM
the ***** was a members user name...not a swear word.

The vote was cancelled to the member telling me something he shouldn't have told me and then i went off on one to another member.

Fireball chill out. Listen they don`t want a mod acting like how you just did. I don`t want to sound mean but you are acting like a really @$$. There is always another time. Trust me but if you keep acting like how you just went off here there won`t be a next time for you. Best of luck in the future. Congrads to those who passed and to those who didn`t nice try and there is always a next time.

Man, it just seems harder and harder to pass mod votes these days. I remember seeing some of Baka's GWF results, so I'm really glad he made it through. Now, all I can hope is that the same happens for me in WHW some day. :)

Why do you have to have so many more posts? what about the 56k people?I've been a member of XG (game forums) for over a year and a half but I still only have about 350 posts, just because if I see a thread that looks interesting I'll read it first then post, taking up most of the time I have to use reading it first, post count doesn't matter and I can prove it with a few links to really crappy, spammy threads on XG, most posters on XG that spam a lot are the ones with high post counts

PEOPLE WHO SPAM HAVE HIGH POST COUNTS.
PEOPLE WHO DON'T SPAM GENERALLY HAVE LOWER POST COUNTS.

hence rendering your post count system useless, if someone want to become a mod and fails, they will probably spam to get their post count up again, hence lowering the quality of thier posts and lessening the chances of thier succes the second time round because the vote will be influenced by all the spam posts.

Here are some spam threads to get you started, note that most people in these threads have post counts in he thousands.

Don't advertise on my forums again... First and last warning.

How do you learn if you're a mod, do you get PMed or do you just have to keep looking?

Have you ever heard of BEING ACTIVE. GW has RPG Forums, Game Help, Interactive Forums. You are completely wrong. SPAMMERS don't survive long here.

BTW: I'd change your sig to take out those urls. You are advertising. You are breaking rule #3: NO ADVERTISING

I cut some of it out so when/if you click on it it won`t take you to the website.

Please don`t advertise here. Re/read the rules.

Word of advice, don't advertise.

And don't come in here telling me how things should be. I'm the one that's in charge of the votes on these forums, so, I'll be the one to bring up any changes as far as how to become a mod is concerned.

XenGamers really has no business being mentioned here. We've been around for a hell of a long time, and we know what we're doing. Our size alone proves that.

You don't meet requirements, devineb, plus you have to be recomended to become a mod, that is if you pass the vote.

I could imagine that Fierce Deity Link would be a nice addition to the moderating group. Maybe next time.

Falken: The message you posted about post counts caught my attention. As other people have said, people with high posts counts dont always SPAM. They usaully help people with game help, post in clans, and many other stuff... Some good reasons besides posting SPAM...
